Kids helping kids is always a welcome sight, and there was plenty of it to see at Milk Gallery in New York City last weekend. That’s where Planet Awesome Kid — with a theme of “think globally, celebrate locally” — treated guests to an afternoon of arts and crafts, yoga, break-dancing and more, all to benefit Global Action for Children (GAC).
Actress Brooke Shields was on hand with daughters Rowan Frances, 6 ½, and Grier Hammond, 4 this month, and tells Moms & Babies that although the girls “had so much fun” they remained ever mindful of why their presence was needed.
“The most important part of the event was how interested the girls were in learning about the good work that was being done, and the attention being shed on all the awesome kids,” Shields explains.
Awesome indeed! With a stated “dual mission” of documenting global kid street style while simultaneously helping those in need, Planet Awesome Kid hosts kid-centric fundraisers designed to encourage self-expression through art, fashion, dance and more.

Mason Dash Disick, 3 months, gives aunt Kim Kardashian a big grin while lounging on the beach Wednesday in Miami, Fla.
Soon after, Kardashian took her nephew shopping at Eanie Meanie in South Beach, where she picked up two Splendid Littles outfits in navy and teal, as well as a tee and short set from Lucky Jade.
“Kim was so nice and a very good aunt,” shop owner Cori Franco tells PEOPLE.
The Kardashian sisters — including Mason’s mom Kourtney — are currently filming the second season of their reality show, Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami, in the Sunshine State.

No regular gym clothes for this girlie girl!

His high-profile relationship with Britney Spears — whom he wed and had sons Sean Preston, 4 ½, and Jayden James, 3 ½, after separating from expectant ex Shar Jackson — placed Kevin Federline in the middle of the Hollywood fishbowl.
“I’ve been through some pretty crazy times — as we all know. Everybody has kind of watched,” he admitted on The Bonnie Hunt Show Monday.
And although the father-of-four still occasionally finds himself in the media spotlight years later, Federline says he now faces the public scrutiny with the support of both women.
“I’m really fortunate to have [Shar and Britney] in my life … and as mothers of my children,” he notes. “I love both of them very much. I still do to this day.”
His relationship with Jackson — with whom he fathered daughter Kori, 7 ½, and son Kaleb, 5 ½ – has been brought to the forefront recently as the former couple appear on the seventh season of VH1′s Celebrity Fit Club.
While Federline, 32, is quick to point out that he was oblivious to her feelings, he says the reality show has placed them on a path to healing.
“We’ve pretty much settled everything. We talked things out and everything is good,” he says, adding that Jackson “had a lot of emotional baggage” stemming from their past.
“We do what we have to do for our children and we get along great. She’s one of my really, really good friends.”
