Chapman, 33, is due in August with the couple’s first child together.

Mayim Bialik: Why I Returned to Acting

Michael Buckner/WireImage

When former child star Mayim Bialik walked away from Hollywood at the conclusion of Blossom, she thought it was for keeps.

“My initial plan was to pursue a life of academia,” she explains to PopEater, adding that the PhD she earned from UCLA is something she is “tremendously proud of.”

That plan changed, however, after Bialik became a mom to Miles Roosevelt, 4, and Frederick Heschel, 19 months, and she “fell in love” with the attachment parenting lifestyle, a “style of parenting that … was not compatible” with her continued studies.

“Putting the kids in daycare or being away from them” was a downside to academia, she says. “That was a huge part of what drove our decision.”

Big believers “that the most important thing in our life is these two children that have been delivered to us by the miracle of birth,” Bialik, 34, says that she and husband Michael Stone are “trying to fit” their lives around Miles and Fred.

She is quick to clarify that her new role on CBS’ The Big Bang Theory isn’t something she regards as second best, however. “It’s not that I don’t love acting; I do,” she insists.

“I love being on the set, I love watching all the cameras and the lights. I love watching everything come together. I’m a really old-fashioned actor. I like to be on the set,” Bialik says. “But I really like to be with my kids.”

Paula Patton: There’s No ‘Perfect Time’ To Get Pregnant

Courtesy EBONY

She always knew she wanted to start a family with husband Robin Thicke, but deciding when their dream would become a reality was anything but easy for Paula Patton.

“I knew it would never seem like the perfect time; When do you take a break from everything?” ponders Ebony‘s May covergirl, shot before the early arrival of son Julian Fuego last week.

Taking a leap of faith, Patton, 34, stopped her birth control — and was shocked to discover that she became pregnant only one week later.

“I didn’t plan it. It just sort of happened. I thought it might take a lot longer,” she confesses. “I didn’t really think this through, to be honest with you.”
