Brooke Shields: Grier Is Mad About Makeup

After a childhood spent in the industry, Brooke Shields has made it clear that daughters Rowan Francis, 6½, and Grier Hammond, 4, will not be following in her footsteps — unless those steps lead toward the makeup trailer!
“Every now and then they’ll ask you to put your kids in a fun scene, so I asked and the little one said she would do it,” the actress shared during a Monday appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
“So she went through hair and makeup and got her wardrobe and then refused to do it because all she wanted to do was the hair and makeup. I was like, ‘You’ll never make it in Hollywood!’”
The “polar opposite” of Rowan — who Shields calls a “tomboy, really tough” — Grier prefers princess parties and playing dress up. Her latest obsession? Lipstick, Shields, 44, admits.
“They just called me from New York … and the little one got on the phone and she goes, ‘Mom, do you think I look pretty right now?’ And I’m like, ‘Why are you asking me that?’” she says.
“And she goes, ‘Because I have lipstick on.’ She has lipstick on all the time, that’s all she does.”
