Amanda Peet Welcomes Daughter Molly June

It’s a girl for Amanda Peet and husband David Benioff!

After going into labor early, Peet ditched a scheduled Tuesday appearance on The Late Show With David Letterman and instead delivered daughter Molly June Benioff late Monday, April 19 in New York City, the Please Give star’s rep tells PEOPLE exclusively.

“Mother and daughter are doing great,” says Peet’s rep. Baby Molly joins big sister Frances, 3.

Peet, 38, and Benioff, a screenwriter, announced the pregnancy in December.

I love Amanda Peet. I watch Saving Silverman whenever it comes on and laugh my butt off! That being said I’m not a fan of the name Molly or June. I feel awful just saying it. I love the name Molly June, which is weird because I don’t really like June, and am not crazy about Molly. But it works! Molly is cutesy and never seems to age. I find it hard to take a 40-year-old woman named Molly seriously. And it doesn’t go with Frances at all. Frances and Molly? They sound like they belong to two different families. Or as if one is the grandmother and one the baby granddaughter. Just my 2 cents.

I dont like the name Molly June. I LOVE the name Frances, but I dont like Frankie. I like France for short lol.

When I was younger I had an elderly neighbour called Molly, so that’s who the name reminds me of. It does age I think, and it’s a lovely name. Not a fan of June, but it really goes well with Molly. I also think that both Frances and Molly and great old-fashioned names and work together. Congratulations to the family!

My 8-year-old is Molly Josephine, so yeah – I love the name. My Molly loves the song “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da” and the line “Molly stays at home and does her pretty face, and in the evening she still sings it with the band.” I’m glad if the name Molly gets a bump in popularity.
