Kelly Rutherford and Hermés Wheel Around

Bill Davila/Startraks

It’s a bike and a stroller!

Kelly Rutherford takes 3-year-old son Hermés Gustaf Daniel out for a spin on a Taga on Tuesday in Manhattan.

With the Big Apple warming up this week (could spring finally be here?), the duo enjoyed the fresh air and sunny skies.

The Gossip Girl actress, 41, is also mom to daughter Helena Grace, 9 months, with ex-husband Daniel Giersch.

I was wondering what the heck Hermes was riding in, and so I clicked on the link for Taga…
Oh CBB… you got me! You were so subtle, so lowkey… who knew you were introducing me to something that would change my life!

But, enough kidding around and teasing, I want one! I want one NOW! What an AWESOME bike/stroller/everything-all-rolled-into-one for an urban walkabout mom!

I have never seen this “Taga” before, it looks pretty neat. But, I think Ms. Rutherford should be wearing a helmet.

That is THE coolest thing I have ever seen!!!!!!!!

Just saw the Taga the other day, it looks amazing! But the price tag is a shocking, whopping $1495. Crazy.

WOW! Back in ‘the day’ I rode my bike with my child in a white plastic child’s seat attachted above the rear wheel. We both wore helmets and had so much fun getting around!! This is something I never would have thought of but looks kind of neat!

Ha, funny it’s a Dutch prduct. All kids here sit on a seat on their parents bicycle until their old enough to ride solo!

- L on

Wow, I wish I had one of those! CBB should do a giveaway!

- Y on

$1495 may seem high but if you were to buy a stroller with these capabilities something like a buggaboo and a bike and a bike seat or bike trailer the pricing wouldn’t be much different and would not be nearly as cool as this

Good grief! It looks like a wheelchair. And a helmet too? How sad. I remember when three-year-olds had freedom……

- Owensmomma on

I wondered why he’d need a helmet in a STROLLER! It’s NOT – thankfully. Phew. And wow, how efficient…

- Jen DC on

Um, helmets are the law for kids in my state who are riding (or are being transported on) bikes. More importantly, it’s common sense. But sure, Owensmomma, I guess you could make the case that a three year old should have the freedom to suffer a traumatic head injury from falling off a bike.

I saw this in the UK and I think it’s brilliant! Slightly ridiculous looking, but seems a safer way to transport baby, get some exercise, and be able to carry stuff around with you!

owensmomma- If you click on where it says “taga”, it will take you to the company’s website, where you can clearly see that it’s actually a kind of bike, not a stroller. :)

the other day I saw the taga in a shop, it’s a great idea for parents who cycle a lot, still I wouldn’t use it here as you have to use the normal road and I wouldn’t want to have my kid in front of me as a bumper… but, is it just me or is this a rather obvious product placement? kelly totally styled, not wearing a helmet and the photograph shot by startraks??

- denise on

Have to agree with owensmama. This thing looks like a wheelchair and the helmet is too much.

Of course I’m from a country where we all cycle every day (to work, to school, for fun, to the store etc etc) and no one wears a helmet.

Hi Usa, I originally saw Taga in Germany 3 years ago. Our business Peppermint retails the Taga in London and we have seen the product develop from pre-production demos to a fully working model.
Having used a Taga for the last two years with my niece i think they are great, the kids love it and it does keep the weight off in the summer.
I think that the most difficult our customers find to get their heads around is that Taga does not have a category , its not a bike and its not a pram. its a new way to travel. Cycle to your destination then convert to a pram and push around then cycle home.
Peppermint has shipped over 10 bike to the USA, East and West coast. If you need any more information please contact me directly and i will be happy to let you know of my experiences with Taga.

Taga looks really fantastic!I ride a similar bike called the Zigo Leader. My child is in front as well. It is so much fun to be able to interact with her. Any time spent with her on our bike is brilliant! We love our Zigo. I’m sure Taga will be fun as well.
