Pregnant Bethenny Frankel Breaks Out the Muumuus

Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel‘s wearing her bump curves well.

She stylishly stepped out in Trina Turk‘s sparkly Payne sweater dress ($114) and gold open-toe Christian Louboutin pumps to Thursday’s premiere of Discovery Channel’s Life.

The key to her maternity chic?

“I don’t have one. I’m still developing it,” confesses Frankel, who is expecting her first child with fiancé Jason Hoppy in June.

“My style is leggings with some sort of muumuu and a belt. [Jason] calls me a baboon because my boobs touch my belly.”

Simian comparisons aside, the chef and reality TV personailty is following in the footsteps of some of Hollywood’s hottest moms-to-be, flaunting her growing bump in body-conscious dresses — a mostly unintentional choice.

“Nothing’s maternity, yet. I hate to buy anything new, so I’m digging through my closet to find anything that stretches,” she tells PEOPLE’s Celebrity Baby Blog. “I like to use what I already have — just like my cooking!”

While she may dread upcoming shopping trips, Frankel is still enjoying her body’s changes.

“I really do love pregnancy. I’ve had the best time. I have energy. I’ve been working like a dog and I’m still okay.”

Could someone please explain to me who she is, how she is a housewife, she’s not married nor from my reading this article, has no other children. I guess I should watch the show. Thanks
Please don’t bash me about not needing to be married to be a house wife, I know that, it’s just I want to know the purpose of this woman and who the hell exactly is she.

Bethenny looks awesome pregnant…can’t believe she’s six and a half months already. @Mary- Bethenny is a celebrity chef and has written a few cookbooks. She’s a no nonsense straight shooter and you either love her or hate her but I happen to like her and enjoy watching her on housewives. Congrats to her, really happy she finally found love

#2. Mary, you’ve got a really good point. I just read her wikipedia entry: she’s never been a mom and she’s never been a wife — how is she a housewife? Maybe that show should be called “The Really Rich Women of New York City Who Want Media Attention.”

mary- bethanny is on the “real housewives” because she is a wealthy, semi-famous woman in NYC (her father was well-known, and bethenny made a name for herself through her cooking and “skinny girl” cocktail lines, and as a contestant on the apprentice: martha stewart). she has been married in the past, but on the last season was looking for love. like alicia said, you either love her or hate her.
the new season just started, you should watch. it’s (albeit somewhat ridiculous) highly entertaining.
she looks great pregnant! always in heels, wow! wonder what they’ll name this one with a last name like hoppy!

I never really understood why or how she got on real housewives, but there are a few girls on that series that aren’t married or housewives. I do think she’s the only one without kids. While her body looks good, i saw her on this after-show special on thursday and her face looked very very very very strange. Like everything on her face had melted.

Yeah, you do need to be married to a housewife…otherwise you’re a housegirlfriend. LOL However, on these reality shows the more interesting the character the more the rules don’t apply. I love all of the Real Housewives shows though, especially the Jersey set. Too funny.

Anywho, Beth looks great! Love the stretchy sweater dress she’s wearing! =)

I think they use the term housewives very loosely on the show. IMO many of them wouldn’t be considered housewives. Some aren’t married others work so I wouldn’t consider anyone who worked or wasn’t married a housewife. I wouldn’t think that having a child is required to be considered a housewife though. I think honestly the show should be renamed rich women of …… It can be entertaining though. I like Bethanney though; she is actually one of my favorites on those shows. I remember how there was a previous picture of her at a fashion show and there were all these comments about how big she was; must have been the shot because I think she looks small here.
