Camila Alves: Daughter Vida Is a 'Big Blessing'

Debbie VanStory/iPhoto

Just four weeks ago, Camila Alves and beau Matthew McConaughey welcomed their second child, daughter Vida — and the new mom is thrilled to have another female in the family.

“I’m very excited to have a girl,” Camila tells PEOPLE. “I’m happy and it’s a big blessing. Vida’s definitely a beautiful and peaceful girl. We are so lucky!”

Now that the Brazilian-born model, 27, and host of Bravo’s hairstyling series Shear Genius has a daughter, she’s looking forward to braiding and styling her baby’s hair. But most importantly, Camila says she has advice to give from her own personal experiences.

“I’m going to have so much fun with her hair. I’ve been dealing with my own hair forever so I have a lot to share with her. It’s going to be long talks.”

And has Vida’s 18-month-old brother Levi received his first haircut?

“We have not cut his hair yet. He’s too cute. He’s a little boy and I don’t want to touch it. It’s still pure and perfect! We’re going to have so much time to style it and cut it,” Camila says. “At this stage in his life, I’m leaving it as pure as possible.”

When it comes time to break out the scissors, Camila says she will save a lock of hair in a scrapbook. “I’m pretty sure I’m going to do something like that. It’s a very mom thing to do.”

With hair being a central part of someone’s appearance, does the model prefer her partner’s curly hair to be long or short?

“I like that Matthew has a little combination of both,” she said. “I like a little bit of a rough look because it’s sexy. But when a man has a rough look and he goes and gets a cleanup than it’s very sexy as well.”

And how does Matthew like her styled? “As natural as possible!”

Jennifer Garner on Separating Fame From Family Life

Courtesy Marie Claire

Although the political aspirations of husband Ben Affleck remain a mystery, Jennifer Garner says she’s ready to heed the call if and when it comes!

“People do tell me I’d be a good politician’s wife because I’m such a Pollyanna and a Goody Two-shoes,” she admits in the March issue of Marie Claire.

Those eager to slap the “has it all” label on the 37-year-old actress would be mistaken, however. Jennifer quips,

“Well, I haven’t showered today. I just want to throw that into the conversation. So I’m not sure I do have it all.”

In the interview, conducted alongside her Valentine’s Day costar Jessica Biel, Jennifer says that the movie was a welcome departure in more ways than one.

“When I do work, it’s always one woman and a bunch of men,” she notes, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to forge a friendship on the set.

The role also lured Jennifer out of a self-imposed maternity leave, following the birth of daughter Seraphina Rose Elizabeth, 13 months this week. Jennifer explains,

“I haven’t worked much at all lately, to tell you the truth. The two weeks I worked on this movie were the only two weeks I’ve worked in about a year-and-a-half because of being pregnant and now having a 1-year-old.”

Caught Caring: Jayneoni Moore and Playdate for Haiti

Celebrity Baby Blog – Caught Caring

With well over 100,000 confirmed dead, millions injured or displaced and untold others missing, the Jan. 12 earthquake in Haiti is unquestionably one of the largest natural disasters in modern history.

Some of the hardest hit by the tragedy are those least equipped to handle its dangerous aftermath; An estimated 380,000 children were orphans beforehand according to UNICEF, and scores more have been rendered just that as a result of the 7.0 quake.

With their needs in mind, Jayneoni Moore hosted the Playdate for Haiti last week at The Playroom in Sherman Oaks, Calif. Co-sponsored by the Jayneoni Moore Children’s Fund, Project Nursery, Mustela and Nourish,  celebrity moms were on hand to pack 25 boxes bound for Haitian orphanages filled with diapers, clothing, formula and water. The supplies were donated by fellow moms from across the country.

Nicole Kidman Was 'Ready' For Baby Later In Life

Picture Media/INF

She has been in the business since she was a teenager, but Nicole Kidman is prepared to leave that all behind for the sake of her family.

“I used to have a crazy schedule, but then I reached a point in my life where I didn’t want to live like that anymore,” she tells SHE magazine.

“I’ve worked since I was 14 … but now my priority is my family — my baby, my husband — and that’s non-negotiable.”

Refusing to be separated from singer Keith Urban for longer than a few days, the actress insists that policy stands true even when it comes to her work commitments.

“I’m not going on location unless we all go together,” she says. “I’ve worked hard enough — and now it’s all about resting and enjoying.”

However, when the couple do find themselves apart, they are always careful to leave behind a few reminders of their love for one another. “Keith and I never text or email — we write letters to each other,” Nicole shares. “We slip them in each other’s luggage and he hides them in my bag, leaves them under my pillow.”

Squeezing in as much family time with their daughter Sunday Rose, 19 months next week, is important for Nicole and Keith. Before the country crooner kicked off his tour last year, the trio — along with a few close friends — rented a villa in Italy for two weeks for a bit of rest and relaxation! “We ate, played music, swam, drove to nearby cities,” she recalls.

The feelings of “bliss” were only temporary! After nearly missing their flight back to the States — and later being stranded on the runway before take-off — Sunday made it quite clear that she was in no mood for their vacation to end.

“We had a nightmare journey home,” Nicole admits. “Sunday screamed all the way home. I walked up and down the aisle with her apologizing, it was awful!”
