Willie Garson Finalizes Son's Adoption

Jen Lowery/Startraks

Willie Garson is officially a father – after having begun the process of adopting his 8-year-old son, Nathen, a year ago.

The adoption, fostered by The Alliance for Children’s Rights and Westside Children’s Center, was finalized in Los Angeles on Wednesday, the Sex and the City actor, who currently stars on the USA Network’s White Collar, tells PEOPLE exclusively.

“From the first time I met him, I said, ‘That’s my kid,’” says Willie, 45. His biggest challenge so far as a single parent? Helping Nathen with his homework.

“He’s in third grade, and I’m in the third grade,” jokes Willie, who reprises his role as Stanford Blatch — the best guy pal of Carrie Bradshaw — in the upcoming Sex and the City 2, which hits movie theaters May 28.

Review: Texthook (A PDA Holder for Your Stroller!)

Courtesy of Texthook

In the digital age of 24-hour availability, parents are increasingly reliant on technology to balance the demands of work and family. If you fall into that category, then you may have a new ally in the Texthook ($26). A sleek caddy for your smartphone, it straps directly onto the handle of a stroller so that you can text, browse, email and more while on-the-go with baby.

Things we like: Setting up the Texthook up took seconds. And it held my iPhone securely in place, even while the stroller was moving. Depending on how tight you pull the Velcro strap, there’s very little wiggle room, which makes it easy to view incoming messages or calls while keeping both hands on your stroller.

This handy product is especially perfect for the grocery store. I usually import my shopping list via email but find it awkward to steer a cart and hold my iPhone at the same time. The Texthook — which also accommodates a Blackberry — made navigating the aisles easy. It also works well with stationary exercise equipment — especially if you’re not a fan of arm bands.

Things we don’t like: It’s a bit pricey for a PDA holder.

CBB rating: If you’ve never met a gadget you didn’t like, the Texthook is for you.

Jessica Alba Says Honor's Favorite Word Is 'No'

Flynet

Honor Marie Warren is flexing her soon-to-be 2-year-old muscles, according to mom Jessica Alba.

During a Wednesday visit to Live with Regis and Kelly, the Valentine’s Day star said that her 19-month-old daughter is “very busy,” “likes to do everything her way,” and has entered an opposition phase that peaks at dinnertime.

“She loves saying ‘No,’” Jessica explained. “It’s her favorite word.”

“Now, she won’t eat unless I tell her not to eat. I have to use reverse psychology. I’m like, ‘Don’t eat your vegetables!’ And she looks at me and, in defiance, eats her broccoli.”

When asked how she and husband Cash Warren arrived at baby girl’s name, Jessica revealed that it wasn’t entirely their idea.

“I told my girlfriend that I was pregnant, early on, and she was like, ‘I’m not having any more kids but if I was going to have one, I would name her Honor,’” Jessica explained. “It was just random and it stuck with us. We liked it.”

As for whether or not the couple envision Honor following in Jessica’s footsteps and pursuing a career as an actress, Jessica expressed doubt. “I will tell her to be an actress and she’ll do the opposite,” she quipped before adding,

“After she’s done with college she can figure out what she wants to do. My father-in-law [Michael Warren] is an actor [so] it’s kind of in the family.”

Valentine’s Day hits theaters Feb. 12th.
