I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, what a beautiful and amazing woman Nicole has turned out to be. It’s obvious she is in love with her kids and on top of that she has an awesome style that I try to copy, but can’t seem to get it right.
Sparrow is adorable!!! And Harlow is about the cutest baby girl out there.

I love this pictures, i love his little cheeks!, i think this is the most beautiful family and Nicole had turned into an amazing woman for herself and her family Harlow and Sparrow look the most well loved babies there can be, there so cute always well dressed and so beautiful, i thought Harlow looked like Joel but i think shes looking alot like Nicole now and Sparrow is alot more like Joel! I love this family! I will be the first to admit when I found out Nicole Richie was pregnant I posted on here, oh gosh! However, she proved me wrong and all I can do is applaud her for being a great mom and rolemodel. She turned her life around and it’s beautiful to watch! It’s nice to see Sparrow we haven’t seen him in awhile! At first, I thought he looked very much like Harlow, but now I think he has a different look. I hope they frame this picture in their house it’s gorgeous. I’m so happy she and Joel are engaged. I was watching Nicole on the David Letterman show talk about Harlow and Sparrow and the way she talked about them was just awesome. She said Sparrow is just learning to sit up and Harlow adores him and says “Oh Sparrow you’re so cute”! It made my heart melt! I’m guessing Nicole took Sparrow with her to France because she is still breast feeding and Joel has Harlow in LA with him… just a guess. Most of the time the whole family is together though and they are picture perfect!

It’s a nice enough picture, but I’m not understanding all of the gushing. But then I’ve never understood the over-the-top gushing that goes on over Nicole Richie. Just because she’s not getting drunk and driving on the wrong side of the road anymore does not automatically mean she’s an amazing mother. She could be, she might not, you can’t tell that from the outside looking in and to pretend like a few random pictures proves that is really odd.

Go Nicole! What a perfect, beautiful picture of her and her darling baby. It was a suprise when she was first pregnant given her lifestyle but she has definitely proved all of us skeptics wrong. She has become such a great role model for evryone. And I love how she is still with her partner and they are now getting married. Congratulations, Nicole!

I love how Nicole Richie went from being one of those Paris Hilton type, drunken messes to this mother who just adores her kids. Kudos to Nicole. I’m so glad that Joel and she are getting married. I love their cute little family. Harlow is just gorgeous and Sparrow’s a cutie.

@Katherine I think the reason people seem to love Nicole is because she has done such a 180. She and Joel give back through their foundation, Nicole is ALWAYS with the kids, they are wearing cost effective clothes & doing normal baby things, like going to the park or getting ice cream. It’s nice to see someone show the world they are more than just a party girl. Nicole had it in her, she just gets to show it off.

Katherine, exactly! I don’t understand the gushing either. People are praising her all the time for becoming a mom when she got pregnant.
But it’s like this for most celebs, based on photos they are judged as gerat or awful parents. Just look at Tiger Woods to tell you we don’t know anything about these people’s lives.

Totally agree with you, Katherine! She’s independently wealthy and therefore has time to spend with her kids. Good for her that she’s no longer drinking and driving, but I don’t see what sets her apart from any other mom out there.

i agree katherine… though i’d go a little further and say that nicole richie deliberately cultivates the image of “the perfect mother”. I’m not saying she isn’t a good mum, she may or she may not. All we know for certain is that she looks better pregnant than not (which is, admittedly, quite amazing) and that she favours quite…ummm…. dramatic?? shoes while sightseeing in paris.

@Anna- i completely understand if you talk about Tiger Woods as an example that we don’t know anything about what’s going on in their lives but if you meant that he’s not a great father then i can’t completely agree. Yes we don’t know how he acts with his children but the fact that he cheated on his wife doesn’t make him a bad father, just a lousy husband.
I think, not sure,that what might set apart Nicole is that everyone thought that she was going to die (may it be car crash, overdose, or slight maybe-anorexia). And when she got pregnant, a lot of people thought that she wouldn’t be able to carry to term or the baby would be too sick to live. So to see her right now alive with two healthy babies is kind of a wonder.

well i was watching the simple life when nicole and paris were friends and i thought to myself is that the same nicole richie who is a mom.Nicole richie is a role model to mothers who had a troubled past i strongly beleive that joel Harlow and sparrow saved nicole from being anthoer washed up celebrity that uses drugs,i love how nicole turned into a beautiful mommy

I agree that she has made such a wonderful turnaround with her life! Her kids are beautiful too! I don’t know anything about her as a mother, but based on the fact that she has stopped drinking, drugs, partying, etc. proves to me that she is devoted to her kids. I know that sounds like the obvious thing to do when you become a parent, but you would be suprised at how many people refuse to change their ways. These babies have changed her for the better, and I am happy to see that in the pictures she shares of her family.

I hope she has completely turned her life around, but all we know for sure about her is that she doesn’t publicly do destructive things anymore. That’s it. I’m a huge fan of celebrity autobiographies, and so I’m far too aware of the number of celebrities who have had public transformations, and wholesome images, that were seceretly an absolute mess to believe that a celebrity has changed or is a great mother just because they appear to be. Loretta Young’s autobiography is the most fascinating example of a celebrity who lied through her teeth about her personal life and got away with it for years. So, while I hope she has changed, public image and a few nice pictures does not prove that to me.

Why do people judge her based on actions from years ago… she clearly has made numerous changes in her life, has a happy relationship and 2 beautiful children and people aren’t allowed to “gush” over what an adorable photo this is? Something is wrong with you people. I’m sure if we dug up your pasts, you wouldn’t exactly be proud of what we found either. She lived her teens/20s in the public spotlight whether due in part to her wanting fame or being the adopted daughter of a celebrity… her whole life was on display. Give the woman credit where credit is due! I swear this website is nothing but negative nebby housewives wanting to drag women down anymore.

I totally agree that in theory, one should not be crowned Mother of the Year for not using drugs, partying, etc and roll my eyes sometimes when people act like Nicole is Mother Theresa. However, Melissa is 100% right-so many people don’t even do the bare minimum of changing their ways and continue the same selfish habits. Nicole has truly done a complete 180 to the casual observer, so while it’ possible Katherine is right and she’ lying through her teeth, she does deserve credit for changing, even though I think people take it way too far sometimes.
At any rate, as someone who just visited Paris earlier this month and walked through 16 of the 20 districts, there is no WAY she walked around those streets in those heels. Adorable short, but totally staged.

While I agree that yes she could still be a mess or struggling to stay on a straight and narrow path, that doesn’t make her an awful mother. It’s also like someone who cheats on their spouses, that doesn’t make them awful parents. Just people with poor choices.
To the people who say that her picture is staged hummmm….well yes she posed for the picture but it wasn’t taken by a pap. Read the little article that goes with it. It’s just her sight-seeing like any other tourist. And about those shoes, she doesn’t walk for a long time in them. No celebrity does. They usually have a car nearby.

Forgot to add that in my opinion, cheating on your partner does, indirectly, make you a bad parent, because it shows the lack of respect you have for the family unit you have created with the person to whom you have pledged to remain faithful. So yes, I do think Tiger’s actions quality him as a bad father, if for no other reason than he has been a horrible role model for his children in terms of how to treat not only your spouse, but women in general. I’m sure Nicole would testify to the effects of growing up with a cheating parent, but we all know how she turned out before changing.

I think that is a gorgeous photo. So what if it’s stage, if it is a personal photo it will be staged. Doesn’t everyone pose with family to have photos taken??
Also with Nicole’s past, so what, she was young, stupid & drank alcohol, just like most people her age did. I had a similar past to Nicole & put that all behind me to have my 3 children. I would hate for anyone to compare the person I am today to 10 years ago as all that is behind me.
Well Done to Nicole for proving everyone wrong, just as I did.

It’s kind of sad, all the negative judging. No matter what someone is always going to put a celebrity down. It all boils down to their jealousy and unhappiness in their life. Leave Nicole alone. She did a 180 and has changed her life around, that does deserve credit. Let’s be real, if you were in her position back in the day and now, you would want the same applause. Another thing, who care about her shoes, if she is comfortable, let it be. I know I can wear the same heels and walk all over the city. If it’s not one thing, it’s another. The shoes, the hate, the coast whatever people can find. Remember the good old saying “If you don’t have anything nice to say, DON’T SAY ANYTHING AT ALL.” Plain and simple.

@Lillian: The picture looks staged – as in it looks like she planned to have it released publicly before it was taken – she dressed the part etc. IMO that’s different from posing for a photo for your private album. But honestly i have no idea if it was or not – it’s just how it appears to me especially with those heels. And even if it was staged, who cares really?

why did tiger woods have to be brought into the conversation about nicole richie? she and joel appear to be devoted parents. we don’t know what goes on before the closed doors of our neighbors and co-workers, and sometimes we don’t want others to know what takes place behind ours. so lets cut nicole and her family some slack (and while we’re at it, tiger and his family). they have cute kids and they love them. simple as that.

I respect Nicole because she was so close to the edge at one point in her life, and with her kind of problems, it was either “sink or swim”, “do or die”, pick your euphemism.
She is celebrated by most because she rose to the occasion at a particular crossroads. She pulled herself up by her bootstraps and made the right decision to escape a life of chemical dependency, cyclic rehab and self-destruction.
She’s flourishing right now with the birth of additional children, no “injury stories” due to negligence. And we are a culture that loves a good girl/boy “beat the odds” story. We celebrate those that somehow manage to triumph. Of course, several months or years down the road, a special brigade of webbies, reporters/posters will plot to bring said “celebrity” down. And by the way, how well do we really know any of the people that we celebrate, admire or respect. The teacher that we admire so could have values and mores that we don’t agree with. The doctor that we admire could be a sadistic ritualist. We can only judge by what we see.
Because I care about this country and the young women and men with a dubious start, who may need a role model embodying hope and optimism, I would say that the sanctimonious way that you begrudged her popularity and low key admiration associated to it is a lot more troubling than the actual harmless, superficial admiration or approval expressed. We need more attention to people like Nicole. Not less.

I live in LA and in Glendale where she used to live until recently and would constantly see her an Joel out and about…Having talked to them they were nothing but nice and attentive to their little girl…If she did fall off the wagon trust me there would be people left and right selling the story…I am not a mother but I don’t understand how other mothers sit behind their computers and constantly talk down to other mothers and say hurtful comments…Men talk enought shit about women as it is…why must women do the same? People like you are why sometimes I say I don’t want to have children…because I will constantly be worried about what the mother next to me thinks about how I am raising my child or if I am doing this right or wrong…How about helping out the mom next to you instead of discouraging them with your negative comments…

There is a reason Nicole is considered a fashionista. This is how she dresses, nothing new in that, obviously you guys don’t know know her outside the baby blog. She wore heels through out her pregnancy…no big deal. Also, she was coming from an appearance at a french clothing store.
Secondly, Angelina Jolie was self destructive as a youth and has now found her rhythm….i liken this to Nicole who had everything she could ever want but was still miserable. She found herself, she should be commended for it. She is the true definition of a role model.
And finally, if there is anyone that i would say crafts their image as a perfect little mommy, it would be Jennifer garner. her life is not that interesting that she has paparazzi all day everyday. violet has to have the most paparazzi pictures in the whole Hollywood world. As for the picture being “posed”. Nicole posted this picture on her website for HER fans. she obviously posed for it. She didn’t except it to end up here with all this hateful and in my opinion jealous comments. The original post of the picture and comments in her official website has the sweetest comments and that’s all that matters.

She really became a special person since she has been with Joel and you can see, she is a proud mom of two beautiful children. Harlow is my favorite little girl, from all these celebrities, children.Love Nicoles clothes line too, but to old to wear it, just some of the jewlery I can wear. I dont understand why ppl are talking so much about her high heels and her outfit.
Im 22 and have a 11 month girl and a 3 weeks old boy.
For a lot ppl i might be strange because i walk on that kind of high heels all day and i wouldnt been found dead with flat shoes or sneakers.
I been walking on high heels ever since im 8 years old and for some reason for me its just hard to walk on flat shoes. My husband love that i only walk on high heels but wen we first where dating he couldnt believe that i didnt had 1 paar of flat shoes now he is just loving it LOL. 
I also love dressing in the lasted fashion. I have been reading some comments on this blog and would i post some photo’s from my daughter ppl would make shity comments about how i dress her and the fact that my daughter has her her ears already pierced.
I love to dress my girl in very girly girl clothes similar to Ali laudrey daughter Estela Ines.
But i always get the question from other mother and also my husband “how can u walk one those high heels and keep up with u lil girl?”.
Person i just feel more woman wen i wear high heels but this is just my personal opinion.
But to each there own opinion

I agree Katherine. I actually get annoyed by how hard she works the “super-mom” image in her PR. Its like its her new job..the poster girl for 20′s mothers…she finally found something she was exceptional at: looking good while being pregnant and suddenly we think she’s perfect? I do suspect she is an extremely nice person, and a good mom. But I get sick of the spin and the gush.
