Family Photo: The Jolie-Pitts Say Bonjour to Paris

After spending time in Venice, Italy, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt headed to Paris toting twins Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Léon, 19 months, on Monday.

The family is in the French city as Angelina films The Tourist with Johnny Depp. Tuesday morning Brad Pitt and daughters Shiloh Nouvel, 3 ½, and Zahara Marley, 5, visited the actress on set and then went shopping (see extended post).

Beautiful!

- Alice on

Vivienne looks just like Shiloh!

They are very cute, and I’m glad we got to see them.

- Ashley on

ah little cuties…there all so cute…Zahara is becoming a beautiful little girl, Shi and the twins look so much alike, there all beautiful as well. It looks as well Shiloh is taller then Zahara. Anyways love this family! cant get enough of the jolie-pitt clan.

- lilly on

My gosh this family is beautiful! It’s so good finally seeing an updated picture of the twins! The twins have the same pouty lips and in my opinion look at lot look Shiloh! Zahara has such a gorgeous smile and my heart melts when i see pictures of zahara and brad! Maddox and Pax are adorable too! I read that the 2nd picture is from when Brad went shopping with Shiloh and Zahara and they got to pick out their own clothes. Zahara got all girly clothes while shiloh went across the street to the boys section and got boys jeans and shirt and scarfs. Funny how different 2 kids can be!

- Lisa on

i’ve said this before and i’ll say it again: WHERE DO I SIGN UP TO BE ADOPTED BY THEM? i’m from a foreign country and i have big lips :) i’ll fit right in :)

- lover on

Why are they so beautiful? Lol. Gorgeous, gorgeous family. The twins are looking so much like Shiloh. I love how Zee is growing so beautifully. Great looking family :p

- Monique on

Oh my gosh so much cuteness!! I absolutely LOVE the photo of Shi and Zee both sucking their thumbs, too cuteee!! And the twins, all I can say is chubby cheeks!! :) :) :)

- LLG on

it’s a good thing Shilo and Zahara suck opposing thumbs! too cute!

- cbabygrow on

The twins are so adorable! Knox is a mini-Brad and Vivienne is a mini-Shiloh.

Shiloh seems very much like a tomboy.

- Mandy on

I love to see updated pictures of the babies. They look so much like Shiloh it’s ridiculous. I love how the Jolie-Pitt biological kids look exactly the same. Wow, the same genes in the three kids.

- Luna on

I think Knox and Shiloh really look a like especially on one picture on Popsugar. Anyway I don’t like Shiloh’s clothes. She is such a beautiful girl and she could wear more girly clothes. But that’s her choise and there is nothing we can do about it. I just hope she will grow up this phase soon. I miss her in her white dresses

- ElenaS on

Beaufiful family.

- (LOVE- aJ ) on

Okay Vivienne and Shiloh look like TWINS!!! I ♥ the last picture of the girls with their thumbs in their mouths! Too cute! What a BEAUTIFUL FAMILY! I just saw a picture of Angelina on the set of her new movie and she looked ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!

- I♥CBB on

I love that Shiloh rocks the tomboy look — and that Brad and Angie clearly don’t mind. It’s refreshing to see celeb children comfortable and having a good time, not conforming to the whole “perfectly groomed within an inch of their lives” standards some celebs adhere to when there will be camers around. I’d rather see her in boy clothes than high heels/no coat/petticoats so big she can’t walk/etc.

- The Writer on

Ha ha! I thought that was Vivienne and Shiloh in the first picture. It’s Vivienne and Knox! Okay they look like triplets! Their kids look JUST ALIKE!!

- I♥CBB on

AWWW…First poor little Shiloh got a front tooth knocked out and now she’s sporting a seriously SHORT haircut!

I wonder if little fingers got a hold of some scissors and they needed to salvage what was left?

What a little character! :)

- mamabear on

I wonder why Shi and Zee always have their thumbs in their mouth… maybe they are sleepy?.. anyways all of the kids are beyond beautiful!!Viv looks a lot like Shiloh!! God bless them!

- Blackrose on

Cuteness overload! For me, there’s lots of things to admire about Brad and Angelina as parents. But what I love most is the way they enhance their children’s individual personalities even if they seem a bit bizarre to the ordinary person.

I applaud them for embracing Shiloh’s personal preferences to dress in the way she likes. There are plenty of parents out there that would stick a pink, frilly dress on her, put her hair in pigtails and force her to be society’s definition of a ‘girl’. I like that they don’t do that and in allowing her to choose her clothing are helping to reinforce the idea within their daughter that she should not, in any way, be defined by the clothes she wears. And as a tomboy who fought tooth and nail at high school to get trousers on the approved list of school uniform items for girls, I really like and appreciate that.

- Amanda on

They are adorable! They look like Shiloh, who looks like Angelina. I know this is going to sound weird but the twins look more like Brad than Angelina though they look like Shiloh who looks like Angelina. Haha.

- Shirese on

Those twins are gorgeous! They look a lot alike with their mama’s pouty lips lol. Vivi looks a lot like Shiloh though. I see in other photos that they chopped all of Shiloh’s hair off!! I’m not digging it but at the same time Shi is def. a tomboy and I guess she wouldn’t let them do it so it was just easy to take it all off! It’s funny to see her next to such a girly girl like Zahara!

- JMO on

I must be in the minority. I can’t stand thumb sucking kids especially not almost 4 and a 5 year old…that being said they live a crazy life and it comforts them (and not something that can easily be taken away and I guess perhaps no more damaging then a binky)…but my friends son is almost 6 and I constantly tell him how ridiculous he looks with his thumb in his mouth…of course I think he does it purposely to torture me now :)

- JMO on

Blackrose the thumb thing is probably a comforter. Strange men with big lenses and flashes is probably scary.
I’m of 2 minds with Shi’s clothes.I love little girls dressed as such but at the same time I LOVE that they respect her choices even at such a young age. Its trusting and empowering. When Angie dressed her she wore a lot of white little dresses, as someone mentioned. Now its Shiloh’s turn.

- Emily on

I saw other pics of them and noticed that Shiloh’s hair color was much darker than it used to be, almost brown. Maybe it just seemed to be darker coz it would be weird to dye so young girl’s hair…

- Emmy Lou on

http://momgelina.com/photo/displayimage.php?album=328&pos=1

look at her hair

- Emmy Lou on

@JMO..I saw the pics of Shiloh’s short haircut too at the Daily Mail and had to do a double take. She looks just like one of Brittany Spears son’s in the picture. She’s such a cutie and a total tomboy. I was like that up through my teens and then turned into a total girly girl. Its nice that she is allowed to be herself and not forced into a set gender role. Let her play and explore while she still can.

- Blue on

There’s no reason why Shiloh should have to “outgrow the phase soon.” How she dresses is perfectly acceptable.

- Alicia on

OMG! Does this family ever stay still? Those poor kids are being shuffled from one city to another city constantly. Can they ever stay home and relax for a bit. There are other celebrities that aren’t out in front of the paparazzi every single minute, but these two seem to absolutely love it! Just had to get that off of my chest, and anyway, those twins look just like Shiloh and they look so much like their mom.

- Christine on

So cute. I think Knox looks so much like Angelina…Shiloh is looking more and more like Angie too but is still a great mix of both parents.

Viv looks more like Brad than Shi. Higher pointed nose, and shape of the mouth.

They all have their mommy’s full lips.

From the profile Shi, Knox, and Viv look exactly alike!

You can’t tell in this pic (they’re wearing hats) but Knox has brown hair now, and Viv is very blonde….Opposite of when they were newborns! Knox was blonde, and Viv had dark brown hair.

- Mia on

How they love papparazzi? This is just third time ever we’we seen the twins. Months pass between sightings of other kids. Why not complain about Gwen Stefani or Jessica Alba – we see them every other day. Or, maybe, just say that you don’t like seeing Jolie-Pitt family. Well, there are plenty of people who do.

- ana on

Emmy Lou: Some kids are born with light-colored hair and it gets darker as they get older. I know several people who had very light blonde hair when they were babies but it got darker when they were about three or four. Since both her parents have dark hair, it would surprise me if Shiloh and her biological siblings grew up to have dark hair. Or maybe her new haircut somehow makes her hair look darker…

- Lola on

I agree with the fact of liking Angie and Brad’s handling of Shiloh. I read that Brad took the girls shopping yesterday. Zahara went for the girls clothes, but Shiloh refused and only wanted to shop in the boy’s section.

They could force those things on her, but they are letting Shiloh go in what she is comfortable with. For all we know, Shiloh took the scissors to herself and cut her hair in protest, leaving them to cut it extra short to even it out.

- Brooke on

We never see pictures of this family :) They notoriously hide out at home for months and now people are complaining about their love of paps? hysterical. Love that they let Shiloh (and the others) do their own thing. Nothing wrong with her clothes and hair and agree it is nothing she needs to outgrow. Gorgeous family and every single child of theirs is just beautiful.

- brannon on

Christine, that is a ridiculous comment to say that Brad and Angelina love courting the paparrazi. Photos of them are the most in demand and earn the highest fees so they are literally stalked for photos. Months may go by before we see photos of the children, especially the twins. I am amazed when people say that we always see pictures of them especially in comparison to other celebrities’ kids like Gwen’s or Jessica Alba’s.

- KC on

Hair color can change – I’m living proof. I had 3 different hair colors as a kid. Born with brown hair, lost it and came back blonde, and by the time I reached my tween years it was dark again!! Now I have no idea what color it would be if I let it grow out!

I think her hair is def. darker but in the recent pics inside the store it still looks fairly blonde. I don’t believe she got the “Kingston” look just different lighting ;)

- JMO on

What do you guys think of Shiloh’s hair? Lol!!

- Jana on

This is such a beautiful family, every single kid is adorable. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a clear picture of Pax, but then again, I’m never really looking for pictures of these kids so maybe I’ve just missed them. Anyway, Vivienne and Knox look so much like Shiloh did at that age. Zahara is growing up to be such a beautiful little girl (she always has been) and I love how, even though Shiloh is such a tomboy and seems to love the grays and blacks, she still carts around her little pink blanket. Cute!

- alice jane on

Shiloh turning to Boy Clothing was just like me! I applaud The Pitts who I always loved for being Parents like mine who let me express who I was at all times, which gave me the freedom.
Having 2 BROTHERS!! makes a Extreme DIFFERANCE, but a little kid needs to be happy if it’s the clothes or the toys she/he likes.. It doesn’t matter what we like!! Expecially in a “Stars” Home it ups the ante to perfect with their children..which is why some stars perfectionize their children!

- Heather on

Oh my goodness, Shiloh is such a cute little tom boy and Zahara is the most precious little girlie girl! I love it! Those are so cute kids. I have always thought Zahara was so precious. I love how girlie she is.
The twins are gorgeous as well!

- Bren on

I am amazed at how much their 3 biological children look alike! I can hardly tell the differnce between them!

- urbanadventurertales on

I can hardly tell the difference between the biological kids either. Really similar features.

They have beautiful kids. Zahara is a little sweetie with her dresses.

- Laura on

I think their biological children look exactly alike too, the twins look like Shiloh did at that age, cute! Zahara seems like such a happy little girl!

- Jessicad on

I was also wondering if Shiloh gave herself a new do and a salon had to finish the job. While I’m no Brangelina, I do love that they let the kids decide their own clothes, much like Tomkat does with Suri. The twins are cutie butts, love it!

- Mary-Helen on

Am i the only one who really doesn’t buy this Shiloh-boy-wannabe thing? I mean, there have been riots here over how the Cruises dress Suri and saying how a 3 year old couldn’t possibly make a decision on how she wants to dress. But not with Shiloh? I mean, THESE ARE 3 YEAR OLDS FOR GOODNESS SAKES! So now human beings really know what they want in life at 3???

Also, am i the only one who remembers when Shiloh was barely born, that Angelina said that she didn’t like to dress her with pink or any other girly color? Am i the only one who remembers that? I remember, that it was published that Brad’s mom had sent girl clothes for Shiloh when she was BARELY BORN, and Angelina didn’t like them, and said that she didn’t want to dress Shiloh like a girl. That she wanted only blue or black colors and things like that. Believe me, i remember that.

And if you remember, the first pic of Shiloh, she’s dressed like a boy. So, if you ask me, i don’t buy this thing about Shiloh making decisions here. To me, it’s Angelina who wants everyone to see Shiloh like a tomboy, so they have all this “variety” in their kids.

- Bugs on

Knox looks so much like Shiloh!

- Kellykc on

Vivienne looks exactly like Shiloh did at that age while Knox looks like Shiloh now.

It’s crazy how the three children look SO much alike :)

- mamabear on

Brannon I agree. What’s wrong with being a tomboy? It’s amusing to see people trying to say that girls have to dress this way and boys have to dress this way. It’s 2010, it’s time to let go of old rules.

- Lee on

Bugs, I agree with you. I don’t know why people assume that Shiloh chose to dress herself like a boy. She has been dressed like a boy since she was a tiny baby, while Zahara has been wearing pink outfits and dresses since she was a baby too. I doubt they were making their own decisions then, or even now. Maybe Brad and Angelina just think it’s cute to dress one girl like a girly girl and the other like a tomboy (now with haircut to match).

- Julia A on

It’s not that there is anything wrong with being a tomboy, but I agree with Bugs because I remember that too. The kids are cute, but I think the whole thing with Shiloh is a little weird.

- Erika on

@ Bugs

ANYONE with children of their own will attest that there is no way you can FORCE a girl to wear “boy” clothes if she does not want to and vice versa. This is especially true if there brothers and sisters in the home that wear “traditional” boy or girl clothes.

Children, even 3 yr. old children, DO HAVE opinions about their clothes, they will tell you that there is a scratchy tag in their shirt, etc.

It sounds like Bugs doesn’t have kids of his/her own or… she doesn’t like Angelina.

- mamabear on

Bugs -

Maybe you’ve never had a 3 year old child, but I can tell you from experience that 3 year olds DEFINITELY have a VERY STRONG opinion about what they like to wear! My four year old has been picking out her clothes (within reason, of course…no shorts in winter) since she was 2 1/2! She refuses to wear certain clothes, and is head-strong about wanting to wear the same thing day after day after day (which she is not allowed to do). It’s completely natural for kids to decide what kind of style they do and do not like to wear. Kids are not mindless at age 3! They certainly do have their own likes and dislikes, and speak them aggressively. Sure, Shi may have had some influence from Angie from a young age, but if it were true that Ang forces tomboy clothes on her kids, than why does Zahara prefer girly clothes? Wouldn’t it make more sense that all of her girls would be wearing tomboy clothes if Angie were so adamant about never allowing them to wear girly clothes? In my opinion, it makes more sense that the girls have their own unique styles that Brad and Angie are allowing them to explore, and less sense that they are forced into these styles by a controlling parent.

- singingclaypearl on

Just to add. I also have an older brother, and preferred where boys clothes from a young age (also shopping in the boys section) because they were more comfortable and I liked the colors better (red, black, gray) vs the girls section (pink, yellow, purple)…etc. I still always consider myself a tomboy but do enjoy wearing more feminine clothes now that I’m a bit older (21). It’s not uncommon.

- Mia on

I love how the twins have the exact same expressions!! They look like little dolls.

- Meghan on

Bugs, you are quoting tabloids. There was NOT ONE interview where Angelina said that she doesn’t want to dress Shiloh like a girl. Tabloid lies are mixed with truth in people’s mind, and if they don’t like Angelina, they like to believe that she is wierd mom. Both Brad and her said, in legitimate interviews that they respect individuality and personality of their children. I believe them.

- ana on

It’s true that even small children can be very opinionated about the clothing they wear. In the case of Shiloh, I can believe that she gravitates to boy clothing. After all, she has older brothers and possibly idolizes them or just digs their clothing.

What I do not buy is that she puts together all by herself the big, loose tie and man’s fedora look that we see her wearing. No way. It’s just too contrived and way too fashionably advanced!

Anyway, a gorgeous and intriguing family indeed!

- Lily on

I hate this idea that girls who want to be “girlie” as old fashioned and outdated. My daughters are 8 & 3 and LOVE pinks, purples, and tiaras. They also love soccer, hockey and basketball. There’s nothing wrong with girls wanting to be feminine, why did that suddenly become a bad thing?

@bugs ita about the Suri wars but I reckon both kids are spirited & the parents are just picking the battles. My 3 year old picks out alot of her clothes, there’s alot of Tinkerbell & Princess Tiana lol. Sometimes it’s just easier to let them wear Tiana everything then force something on em.

- Mary-Helen on

I like the haircut, it’s very Hayley Mills.

- what of it? on

Ana, you are so right. Bugs is confusing tabloid gossip with fact. Angelina never said anything of the sort about wanting Shiloh to wear only black/gray or non-gender clothes. And the proof is in photographs from when Shiloh was small . . . Angelina dressed her in cute little white dresses with ruffles and pantaloons from Bon Point and dresses with puff sleeves and tights. Now, Shiloh prefers to dress herself and obviously prefers to dress like her brothers. I don’t blame her. Boys’ clothes are looser and more comfortable and better for play than girls’ play clothes. Believe me, I know. I grew up with eight brothers and I would steal their jeans whenever I could!!

People need to stop confusing made up stories in ragmags with the truth.

- mslewis on

Girly girl fashion is OLD, and boring. Therefore, I like how Shiloh dresses, no need for pig tails, bows, and white easter stocking. Shiloh belongs to NONE of you but, Brad and Angie.

- Bella on

I love that Z is sucking her left thumb and Shiloh is sucking her right thumb in that pic. So cute. Knox and Viv look so much like Shiloh, and such mixes of Brad and Ang. It’s still funny to me that they all basically wear muted colors, shades of black and white. All 8 of them.

- Reader on

I think the twins are mirror images of Angie, even a little more so than Shiloh. Gosh those kids are gorgeous. They are going to be knocking away suitors with sticks by the time they grow up! lol :)

- Jennifer on

“I don’t know why people assume that Shiloh chose to dress herself like a boy. She has been dressed like a boy since she was a tiny baby, while Zahara has been wearing pink outfits and dresses since she was a baby too.”

Check out Zahara’s baby clothing versus Shiloh’s baby clothing:
http://www.team-jolie.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-15997
http://www.team-jolie.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-29042

Pretty much similar in terms of style. Lots of neutral colors, a few frills. There are plenty more examples if you look for them, but I don’t want to flood this comment with links. Zahara started wearing pink stuff around age 3, just like Shiloh started wearing her tomboy stuff around age 3. That’s what makes me thinks it was their choice, not their parents.

- actualsize on

Bugs if that’s true then why is Zahara always in dresses, maryjanes and has her hair in headbands and hair clips??

I have nieces and nephews and yes at 3 and 4 they knew exactly what they want to wear. From the shoes to the hair clips. And yes you can try to persuade them to choose other things but in the end they’ll let you know what it is they do and don’t like.

As far as the haircut. I will say Shi makes a cute boy! lol It wouldn’t be something I’d let my daughter have (it’s just not my taste) I would actually fight my daughter on it more then give in. My mom alway said from the time I was 2 I would pull out my clips and she always said she put them back and eventually I gave up. My mom always said she was the mother and she would have the final say even if it wasn’t to my liking. I think I would take my mothers approach. However that doesn’t work for everyone. I can totally see Brad and Angie being laid back with their kids. I mean they let Maddox have mow hawks and dyed hair why not let their daughter have short hair??

I’m also happy to see Angie reconcile with her dad! I wish them well.

- JMO on

I have an almost five year old daughter who from the age of about three would often ask not to be called a girl and wanted to be referred to as “just a kid”. She loves gender neutral clothing…shorts, tee shirts, jeans. If the clothes are related to motorcycles, transformers, batman, and other more male gender stereo typed images she just loves them! There are lots of men and boys in my family so she identifies with some of the activities they like to do such as sports, computer games and so forth. I think the thumb sucking thing will go away in most kids without too much effort. My daughter hated pacifiers and liked the thumb when she was tired or scared. But she has almost outgrown it except right before naps or bed and then it generally falls out of her mouth when asleep. My dentist has no worries about it and the pediatrician says it can actually stimulate brain development and will be replaced by other self soothing as my child gets older. In the end, who cares. All of Brad and Angelina’s children look healthy, happy and very loved by their parents.

- toni on

Mary Helen–

I don’t think anybody is saying that girls who wear “girlie” clothes are old fashioned. I think they are saying thinking that it’s only appropriate or better for girls to be “girlie” are old fashioned.

- B on

the whole about the Cruises was that Suri wore a pair of heels and didn’t wear any jacket/coat when it’s freezing outside. yes, Suri may have dressed herself but parents should have intervened if a child chose to wear something that was not healthy or not appropriate for the weather. in shiloh’s case, she’s not hurting herself by wearing a pair of pants, and she always dressed warm. no harm done, right?

- Zoe on

Actually, lol, Shiloh doesn’t hit me as dressing like her brothers, but dressing like her dad!

- Me on

HA HA! How right you are!

Maddox AND Shiloh are emulating their father and his love of fedoras and blazers!

- mamabear on

As a mom of four daughters, I’ve definitely seen a full range of personalities.

None of my children have ever been forced into any particular mold. My partner and I chose not to find out the sex of our children while I was pregnant so all clothing from 0-9 months was gender neutral. After that, I chose clothing in a variety of colors.

As my eldest grew older, she was drawn to all things pink, purple, and sparkly. She adores the Disney princesses and loves ballet.

My second daughter is the complete opposite. Starting young, she hated dresses and now, at almost five, she refuses to wear them or skirts. She won’t wear pink, purple, or anything with flowers, butterflies, etc. Instead, I have to choose gender neutral items (which are hard to find at her age) or veer into the boy’s section. This fall, starts football; something that she has begged to get involved with almost everyday for a year (age requires the child to be 5).

In my opinion, clothes are clothes. As long as my children are dressed age appropriately and for the weather, I see nothing wrong with my oldest wearing a princess costume or my other daughter in Superman pajamas.

- Nina on

i have to disagree with Bug, when shiloh was born, maybe angie didnt want to wear pink on her or girlie clothes because she prefered neutral colors, and now that Shi is older, angie lets her decide to wear what she feels comfortable in, i think that where she has two older brothers, she looks up to them and wants to be in with them, and hang out with them, by dressing and acting like Maddox or Pax, she probably feels like “one of the guys” at a young age i wanted to hang out with my older brothers, i played g.i joe’s with them, and loved scary movies, and played in the sand with barbies and race cars. So whatever way u look at it, there letting her be independent, and at that age, your gender isnt important, having fun and being a normal kid.

- lilly on

Even though Knox and Viv are fraternal twins, they look so much alike it’s eerie. And they both look like Shiloh when she was a baby.

Shiloh and Zahara are getting tall! Wow!

- SAR on

I can’t believe ppl care! I LOVE how Shiloh looks; it’s obvious this is what she likes for now. She’s so cute!

- Trinh on

Christine- In addition to what other people have said, I want to add that, in terms of all the photos of them in Venice, it’s almost impossible to avoid the paps there because of the canals (in otherwords, you pretty much have to travel via boat to get from place to place in Venice, and the canals aren’t exactly hidden away!).

JMO- Not to mention the fact that Viv has been dressed very girly in the few photos we’ve seen of her thus far (not counting the Narita airport ones. There she was wearing a simple, white jacket). In the photo in this post, for example, she has frilly socks, black Mary Jane-type shoes, and a girly pom-pom hat. :)

Also, to add to what you’ve said, the article on PEOPLE’s website about the shopping trip clearly states that both Zahara and Shiloh picked their OWN clothes at the store! In otherwords, Shi DOES choose her own clothes, as does Zee! :)

Anyway, the twins are adorable! Knox looks like a male Shiloh to me, and Viv looks like a mini-Angie! As for Shi’s haircut…..I think it’s adorable! It also happens to be nearly identical to the haircut that I had for most of my childhood! :) I echo the posters who said that they think it’s great that Angie and Brad allow their kids to pick their own clothes (well, the four older kids, anyway. Obviously Knox and Viv are still a bit too young to pick their own clothes!).

I can’t wait to see what styles Knox and Viv choose as they get older! :)

- CelebBabyLover on

No, it’s not that i don’t like Angelina. i admit that i’m indee quoting tabloids so you guys are right on that. But still. Shiloh has been dressed like that since she was a baby. Someone asked me why not Zahara. Well, in my opinion they’re making a statement of having kids with different personalities. But it’s only my guess. I still don’t buy it, really. But that’s just me.

- Bugs on

Why don’t people complain when parents dress girls in nothing but pink, frills and lace? She might grow up to hate girly clothes. You can’t tell what a baby likes to wear. It doesn’t matter one way or the other. Parents can dress their babies any way they choose. I absolutely hated anything girly and pink even when I was 3 years old. My Mother let me wear boy’s jeans and boy’s t-shirts. I even had short hair. It didn’t harm me. Maybe Shiloh likes her clothes. The other two girls wear girly clothes so if Shiloh wanted to wear them I am sure she could.

- Jane on

you want to know what pisses me of?
This pictures were taken yesterday…i live in Paris, and later today, i’m going to work in the street were Brad and the girls were spotted 24 hours ago!

- h on

I love their kids’ fashion sense! I bet Shi looks up to Maddox and wants to dress like her big brother. Meanwhile, Z is as fierce as her mama!

Viv’s hat is also adorable! Too cute.

- Molly on

I have a 4year old boy and he wants to only wear BEN10 t-shirts and shorts, i mean everywhere, and everyday, he does not want to wear sneakers, i think some battles are not worth it, if the child chooses to wear something weather appropriate then that’s fine. SHILOH is very pretty and so is Zee and i love her name, and i agree with everyone else who says all three biological kids look the same.

- True on

Bugs, you took the words right out of my mouth!

I have a 5 yr old daughter and it’s ME the one that decides what she wears, and it’s ME who buy her clothes. Of course I know what she likes and what colors she prefers and I try to choose things I know she will like, but she is a little girl and she knows that in this house it is mom and dad who decide about everything, she can give her opinion of course, but the final decision is ours. For example if she wants to dress like a boy (which I personally don’t like in a girl, but that’s me, my opinion) I will not buy her boy clothes! That doesn’t mean she is always dress in pink, not at all, but I buy her girl clothes (jeans, dresses or whatever)
When she will grow up then she will pick her clothes, but not now for sure! And she is happy like this, she knows mom is the one that buys her clothes and is ok for her. I think children do what parents let them to do…if you put some “rules” then they will know how it works and that’s it.
Anyway, this is of course my opinion, and my kids. Angelina and Brad do whatever they want with their children.
The twins are gorgeous! And Shiloh beautiful as always.

- sil on

all i can do is hope that all the parents here who have such ignorant and narrow-minded views about how little girls should be dressed, don’t pass their prejudices on to their kids. i am proud to be the parent of 5 children who wouldn’t care if a girl in their class was wearing tomboy clothes or if a boy was wearing pink. let me ask you, would you be proud to be the parent of the child that is bullying the boys and girls that DON’T conform to the the stereotype of how their sex should be dressed? i know i wouldn’t, and the only way i can avoid that is to lead by example.
those of you who are criticising shiloh for either her new haircut or her clothes because they look too masculine, should be ashamed of yourselves. you are supposed to be adults. i guess we haven’t come as far as we had hoped in our society. shame, big shame!

- JM on

I really don’t see how a little girl wearing boy clothes is a big deal. In fact, it really ISN’T a big deal until people start insisting that she’s not dressed like a “real girl.” Well guess what? Then I’m not a real girl either because I hated all girly clothes from the time I was about 4 up until my teenage years. It was always shorts and shirts and that was it. But wearing boy clothes didn’t hurt me; what would have hurt me was my parents telling me that I was wrong and there was something wrong with me for wanting to wear the clothes I did.

And using Suri as an example doesn’t work very well here, IMO, because there’s a difference between letting a child pick out boy clothes and letting her go without a jacket in the middle of winter in NYC snow, IMO.

From the pictures I’ve seen over the past few months, they’ve been hiding Shiloh’s hair under hats and things for awhile now. I honestly think that either Shiloh herself or one of her siblings cut her hair and they were waiting to see if it would grow back right and it didn’t, so they finally just cut it properly! But I might be wrong there.

- Ryo on

I have three girls, and at age 2, my middle daughter went through the stage that she wanted to pick out what to wear. She didn’t have girly clothes to begin with but picked out clothes that were pants and less girly colors. Then she went through the phase to wear dresses and cowboy boots only to switch to the more tomboy look, such as basketball shorts, and athletic shirts. But she only wore what i bought. Very much a tomboy and still is.
But you can’t tell me that in an expensive boutique that there wasn’t girl clothes that weren’t girly. I think it was a dad who didn’t know how to say no.

How cute are these Jolie-Pitt children! Vivienne and Knox look a lot like their big sis Shi. Especially Viv seems to be a mini-Shiloh. Knox looks a lot like Brad. After many months we finally get to see the cute twins more often. They reakky have grown a lot. In these pictures they look almost identica which naturally is impossible since they are fraternal twins. But they have exactly the same facial expression of their cute faces. And I also love these recent pics of Brad, Zahara and Shiloh going clothes shopping in Paris. How cute does Zee look in those striped tights and Shi in her tomboy look! No matter what the cynics say I love Shi´s tomboy look. She still is a very beautiful little girl. She can wear whatever she wants. Isn´t it the main thing that she feels comfortable in the clothes she´s wearing? She has plenty of time to wear feminine clothes (skirts, dresses etc) when she grows up. And Zee is so feminine. How can two sisters be so different?! But I love their distinctive styles. It will be interesting to see if Viv will be more like a girly girl or a tomboy. Some stories say that at the moment she´s very girly girl.

- Kati on

Zahara’s hair is very cute. I am amazed at how much the twins look so much like the oldest girl, Shiloh, and how much the three of them look so much like Jon Voight!!!

- Jazzie on

If I recall Marcia Cross said that one of he daughters is very much into wearing all blue from head to toe…she’s what 2 years old?? And surely Marcia can steer her daughter into wearing other things but is it really worth the tantrum and the fussing over what a certain color outfit the child wants to wear?! Not really. Pick you battles…as long as the child isn’t going out of the house looking ridiculous let them express themselves they’re not hurting anyone!

- JMO on

Just because that’s how you choose to parent, sil, doesn’t mean that’s how all parents do it. You make the final call about clothes in your house and that’s great. I know plenty of parents that let their kids participate and even make decisions about their own clothing. So really, just because you make all the calls in your house from shopping to daily wear, doesn’t mean that the pitt’s, or all the rest of us do.

- C on

I see Shiloh, Vivviene and Knox and it highlights to me how, in a weird way, Brad and Angie look so much alike. If Angie is with them I think they look like her and if Brad is with them I think they look like him. Plus all 3 of those babies look so much alike.

- TexasGal on

If Shiloh is happy, healthy & blessed who cares if she is a little tomboy with a shorter haircut!? Yes shes gorgeous & seeing her in dresses and girly clothes would be cute, but that obviously isnt her. All of their children are gorgeous and seem sooo happy all the time, LOVE the Jolie-Pitts!!!

- Lola on

What baffles me is that it would NOT be ok for Maddox, Pax, Knox, or other boys to wear pink frilly dresses and hairbands, yet everyone is Gung-ho aabout Shiloh looking like a boy. Seriously people, its a double standard. If Knox or Pax left the house dressed like Princess Aurora, EVERYONE would be in an uproar! And that would probably include Brad (I can see Angie being ok with it). Until its ok for a straight boy (or man) to walk to the streets in high heals and dresses, its not ok for a girl to want to look so much like a boy! I mean, jeans are comfy and unisex, but to want to look SO much like a boy is a little disturbing.

- Amity on

Oh my gosh – who cares what they wear as long as they are taken care of and loved. It appears that is the case. Can’t a kid be an individual or do all children/girls have to fit into some cookie cutter mold? The kids – all of them – are adorable. Really, does anything else need to be said??? :)

- Liz on

i totally agree with the poster who said shiloh is dressing like brad. she seems like a major daddies girl to me and probably wants to play with her brothers and be one of the guys.

My little sister looked like shiloh when she was little and had similar style. she even asked for her hair to be cut short and to have the same clothes as my brothers. she was always copying my father and playing with my brothers… essentially being a tomboy.

all through elementary school most of her friends were boys and she played sports with them during recess, while I played quietly with the girls. people often confused her for a boy when she was little, and while it bugged her a bit, she still kept her style.

but in her teens she switched it up and became much more feminine… so who knows how it will go for shiloh, but i find her very endearing because she reminds me of my sister.

- fuzibuni on

Amity, actually no, if my boys wanted to wear something that was pink, fine. the only reason why i’d be worried about dresses and stuff is because of certain people in our society (as i pointed out earlier) who would see it ok to put them down and attack them for it, if it was accepted and i knew they wouldn’t get bullied for it, then they could dress up as princesses etc. but there is still a difference, because dresses are only made for girls, trousers and all the clothes that shiloh wears are also made for girls. so it’s not really a valid comparison you made.

- JM on

Amity – Actually, not EVERYONE would be up in arms at Maddox or Pax in a princess outfit or pink. I’d think it was a hoot. And, quite honestly, I’d love B&A for ‘letting’ them wear it in public. As long as it’s appropriate for the weather and covers their skin in an age-appropriate manner, who cares? Or, more specifically, whose business is it???

- ktdear on

Oh my God! The twins are so adorable!

- Lys on

Just like to point out that Shiloh looks taller then Zahara one’s on the sidewalk and the other isnt’. If you were to get the girls standing side by side on the street, you’d see that Zahara is probably taller then her sister.

Wonder if Brangelina will try for another baby? If they do, I hope it’s a boy, even things out. ;)

I also hope they stop dragging the kids around all over the place. It’s fine for the younger ones, but older kids who are old enough for school, need to stay in one spot. I know there’s tutors, but it’s not the same as going to school and having friends your own age.

- robinepowell on

Amity says “Until its ok for a straight boy (or man) to walk to the streets in high heals and dresses, its not ok for a girl to want to look so much like a boy!”

Actually, Amity, I’d have no problem with a straight man walking around in heels and dresses. To each his own :)

For what it’s worth, I think all 6 Jolie-Pitt kids are ADORABLE, regardless of what they wear!

okay I commented on this post before but robinepowell they have 3 boys and 3 girls.. that’s even…

Sarah K,posting those pics are not going to change their minds.Up until the last year we saw Shiloh and Zahara in dresses and pants. As for the question about the boys of course its a double standard .Woman are able to wear pants or slacks and dresses and skirts. We earn 75% of what mean earn but we can wear pants LOL I’m not aware of a store that sells mens dresses. I always laugh when I read about the JP kids being overexposed Go thru the archives and you will see they are the least photographed of all celeb kids. Compare them to Kingston, Violet, Suri, Tori Spelling kids , The Spears boys even Matilda is seen more. Until this trip to Europe they were seen only 2-3 times in 2010 and its almost March.Well gotta go

- Kim on

Amity…I get your point but let me tell you my experience… My son was 3 when he went through a stage of wearing princess dresses and fairy costumes (like his big sister who he idealised). He wore them down the main street of our town, he wore them to the swimming pool and he wore them to his sisters school. He looks like a football player by the way, NOT a slight wispy boy so it was pretty clear it was a boy in a sparkly dress. We got LOTS of looks and lots of chuckles but not one nasty thing was said to him, or to me. Most people would just shake their heads or laugh indulgently and a few approached me and said how adorable he looked. So you might be surprised how far society has come….

BTW he wants to wear superhero costumes now, dresses “male” but is still cool with wearing hand me down pink t-shirts or riding a a hand me down purple bike or using a Barbie lunchbox. He WAS teased about the lunchbox (by girls at his kindy) and he just shrugged and told them calmly..” But I don’t care if I have a girls lunchbox, I just don’t care.” They stopped teasing him immediately.

moose – Your son sounds adorable! Good for him doing what he wants without worrying about what others think, and good for you for allowing it :-)

Hey Kim, I was not really seeing/understanding the whole boys in girl clothing thing until i read your post. That totally made my day!! I could just picture this husky boy in feminine clothing walking self assuredly down a street without a care in the world. That’s totally perfect and what life is all about and your post alone gave me a new perspective on something that I thought I wouldn’t budge on. Thanks for the visual, it’ll have me smiling all day :)

- Brynn on

So cute. I love this family. And I love that the kids get to wear what they want. I have a 5 yo daughter and she dresses herself. We don’t tell her what to wear. When we shop for her, it is both boy and girl clothes because she likes both. She asked for boxers the other day…I bought them. What the heck?

Like Shiloh, she puts together some crazy get-ups. But it hurts no one. And it makes her happy. I would never impose my will on her with regards to clothes. I am teaching her to be a good person. That is more important to me.

- Michelle on

Some of these post are quite comical!!! The one thing that always bugs me is when people call these children by nicknames, Shi, Viv and Zee. Nicknames are personal to me and we don’t know these children personally so it always strikes me as odd!

- Meela on

Meela: me too! I find it a little creepy using kid’s nicknames you don’t know, it’s a bit too personal.

- Gemma on

Wow – there are three Shilohs!

As far as how Shiloh dresses, and I’ve posted before, she could very well want to dress this way. I loved boyish clothes when I was young, and my mom didn’t mind. As Heather and Mia said, some of us are just like this from an early age. (But I didn’t have an older brother.) And maybe we were daddy’s girls.

On the other hand, I can understand why some posters on this site would like to see Shiloh wear girly clothes on occasion. Shiloh is really cute no matter what she wears, but girly clothes can be more flattering. I sometimes wish I had worn more pink, but I make up for it now!

And I do think there is a double standard for dress with boys and girls. And I think it’s one of the few times that girls have it easier. I think a girl can dress boyishly with far less disapproval than the reverse. Why? I’m not sure. It may be that it is still “cute” on a girl (until it gets to be too much leather, flannel, and chains). A boy in a dress or skirt, however, is pretty jarring to most in our culture. (But if it’s tartan, and you call it a kilt, it doesn’t bat an eye in Scotland!)

And light hair does tend to darken. I don’t know many blondes who stay naturally blonde as they age. I still call myself a blonde … but everyone insists I have brown hair.

- AE on

Wow Amity…really? Good for you Moose. This conversation reminded me of a favorite book of mine when I was a little tomboy girl in overalls and tennis shoes. (By the way, I am now a successful businesswoman who wears high heels on a daily basis but I still like being a tomboy too.)

I say down with gender stereotypes!

- fergette on

I agree that Shiloh would look very cute in girly clothes, but honestly, but which is cuter: an unhappy girl in a frilly dress, or a happy girl in jeans and a t-shirt?

And as for the comments about Angelina deciding to dress her like a tomboy, maybe Shiloh was taught to express herself and dress however she feels comfortable. In Shiloh and Zahara’s baby pictures, they wore a mix of clothes, from girly dresses to plain shirts and pants. They also wore a lot of solid neutral colors. Maybe Angelina and Brad were purposely trying not to dress them
in a particular style so they could develop their own style later.

- Lola on

I hope we see some pics of Johnny Depp hanging out with Brad/Angie during the filming of “The Tourist”. I’m a huge fan of all 3 of them, esp. Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp. Anyone seen the clip of 21 JumpStreet when Brad Pitt guest starred? Johnny/Brad on screen at the same time :)

Fun Fact: Brad Pitt/Johnny Depp both have daughters with the same birthday. Johnny Depp’s daughter Lily is May 27 1999 and Shiloh is May 27 2006. Small world.

- Mia on

robinpowell- Angie has said that once her kids start requesting for a more stable enviornment, where they dont have to leave their friends and such, she will do that. But until then they enjoy traveling and like to go, so I find it reasonable that they take advantage of that while they can.

Also regarding the haircute, when I was 3 and 4 my hair was about Shiloh’s length, its really not all that unusual. I have known many young girls with that same hairstyle. Of course mine was originally cut that short because I got Gum in my hair (which is still a possible reason for Shilohs short cut, not that she needs one)

- Micheley on

To the person talking about a “double standard,” you need to read the definition of the term. Last time I checked, wearing a dress in society is considered generally to be clothing for women. However, a track suit, jeans, pullover, blazer, sneakers, and a monkey hat, are NOT under the purvey of ‘males only’ in our society. What that means is, I can wear my husband’s jeans and his white dress shirt out to the mall, and no one will look at me funny. That’s because his clothes ARE unisex. If you’re so anxious to see a man in a dress at your next office meeting, start a movement. But right now, I, you and any female should she so wish (including little Shiloh, can wear a pair of jeans and a hoodie). I’m sitting here in sweats now, with short hair and I am most definitely not a man as my husband will tell you. Seriously, where do some of these opinions come from? You’ll find more forward thinking women on the WACO polygamous compound in Texas. My GOD. Women have been wearing pants and button down shirts and short hair for almost a century. Do you have a problem with old Katherine Hepburn movies? Now you have a problem with a 3 yr old who wants to emulate her Dad or her big brothers and not wear girly duds. Instead of attacking Angelina Jolie’s daughter, why not take all that rage, and go after ‘Toddlers and Tiaras,’ the show on Bravo. Or is lipstick, skimpy leotards, eyeliner, foundation, blush, fake adult teeth, spray on tans, high heels and false eyelashes on 2 yr olds OK with you??

Let’s all get real here. If we were talking about Gwen Stefani’s kid, or Naomi Watt’s kid, somebody’s kid where you didn’t have this jealous bitter obsessing over the Mother, you wouldn’t have anything to say.

It’s because she’s Angelina’s daughter. That’s it and that’s all.

This little girl is going to be every bit as fierce and amazing as Mom, and that irks you, so you’re overly critical, biased and nasty….and very, VERY fascinated.

Thanks to all the cool Moms posting who see this sickness for what it is: envy.

- Bree on

robinepowell- I think they’ll go for another adoption first. :) As for the traveling…..I think it’s a pretty safe bet that Angie and Brad know what’s best for their own kids and family! :)

- CelebBabyLover on

Blackrose- I’m not sure, but I’m guessing that robinepowell was referring to the fact that, if they had another bio boy, then they’d have an even number of bio boys and bio girls (two each). :)

Also, I meant to say earlier that I don’t see anything wrong with girls wearing “boys” clothes. When I was a kid, I loved wearing my brother’s hand-me-downs, and my parents *gasp* were perfectly fine with me doing so. For awhile, in fact, my two favorite pairs of pajamas were pairs that had orginally belonged to my brother. One was a set of Superman pajamas (complete with cape!), and the other was a more generic set, but it was still definitely “boyish”. And really, why can’t girls like Superman, Spider-Man, Batman, and co.? Superheros and other things don’t have to be just for boys. :)

- CelebBabyLover on

the twins look so much alike!

- dilszy on

I 100% agree with bugs. I think Shiloh looks adorable and is definitely rocking the tomboy look, but something tells me that from the very beginning Angelina wanted to make sure that this baby..whom the world already crowned as the most beautiful offspring (before she was even born), because she was the product of two of the most good looking people on this earth, wasn’t going to overshadow her other siblings. In the beginning the paparazzi went crazy over Shiloh and there was a higher demand for baby pics of her then the other kids. Maybe Angie is scared that this incredibly beautiful child will one day notice all the hoopla about her and it will get to her head…I don’t know, but it seems to me like Angie would dress shiloh like that to not draw any more attention to her, as this beautiful little girl…just my opinion..but that Angelina defintely has the upper hand in that family.

- justmyopinion on

Every kid has their “clothing phase”, even before they hit teenage years. All through out elementary school, I refused to wear jeans, probably before that too.

I didn’t start wearing them until 12-13 and even now I’m still a bit fussy about my jeans, lol! :p

- robinepowell on

Justmyopinion, that’s a pretty bold statement that makes a ton of assumptions. First, Zahara is just as “incredibly beautiful” as Shiloh is. Second, Shiloh has been photographed waring plenty of dresses up until the past couple of months. There is absolutely no evidence that Angelina has ever tried to stifle Shiloh to protect the other children. Suggesting that Angelina is trying to make her child more ugly to bolster the other children is absolutely ridiculous.

- Sarah K. on

i’d like to say that some of you are just flat out creepy…calling these children nicknames? vivi? you don’t even know this child and you call her “vivi”? Some of you remember what one of them was wearing in pictures from months or maybe years ago? wow. that’s scary.

i read the gossip on this website but just when i’m bored. I don’t act like i’m friends with the jolie pitts and address their kids by nicknames. one of my best friends reads gossip and has hour long discussions about what she thinks of people she doesn’t even know!!!! it’s creepy and it makes you sound like you have nothing better to do than learn about other people’s children. no wonder the jolie pitts are so secretive.

rant mode: over.
back to work for me.

- lover on

Sarah K.- Exactly! And what about little Viv? She’s also just as beautiful as Shiloh, and in the pictures we’ve seen of her, she’s been dressed very girly. :) Also, for what it’s worth, Zahara was dressed in what some people would call “boy” clothes when she was younger, too. For example, in 2007, when she and Pax were constantly getting photographed going to school, she was seen wearing some of Maddox’s hand-me-downs, and some more “boyish” looking outfits.

- CelebBabyLover on

Such a beautiful family. I liked reading the People.com how Brad took the girls clothes shopping and allowed them to pick out their own clothes. I think it’s great that Brad and Angelina allow them to express their own individuality. Zahara picked out very girly clothes and Shiloh shopped in the boys section. I think it’s cute…though I’d love to put Shiloh in some pink dresses! lol
