Cheryl Hines' Bonding Ritual? Mother-Daughter Manicures!

From unwinding at the park to spending weekends painting pottery, Catherine Rose Young loves catching up on some one-on-one time with mom Cheryl Hines. For the Curb Your Enthusiasm star and her daughter, their time spent bonding recently has been at the salon during mother-daughter manicures.

“Usually she sits in my lap and we get our fingernails done together,” Cheryl tells OK!. “It’s a real fun time for us.”

While Catherine gets much delight in choosing an über girly polish for herself — “the brighter and the sparklier, the better” — it’s icing on the cake when she’s allowed to pick out a fun color for mom too!

“If I’m not shooting, I’ll let her pick out my color,” Cheryl explains. And in true 5 ½-year-old fashion, the actress jokes she’s sported some unusual trends thanks to her daughter.

“I’ve had some really nice, green fingernails before.”

While Catherine is high on her list of priorities, Cheryl says the occasional alone time she carves out with husband Paul Young is “really not easy,” but just as crucial.

“You really have to schedule it because it doesn’t come naturally,” she admits. “You have to bite the bullet and get a babysitter and convince yourself that it’s important.”
