Denim is a staple of every toddler’s wardrobe. Stylish and versatile, it goes with everything and it’s sturdy enough for an active baby. To give parents more high-fashion options, Gap is spreading its denim magic — the relaunch of their grownup 1969 jeans collection was a huge success last year — to its baby line.
Made of snuggly-soft cotton, the new babyGap premium denim collection ($15 to $30) includes iconic shapes and styles you and your fashionable tot will love. It also features some non-denim pieces like a crisp white button-down, smocked top and onesie.
“We set out to create the softest, most comfortable and cutest denim for babies, building on the success of our 1969 Premium Denim for adults,” says Jennifer Giangualano, SVP Product Development for babyGap. “The result is a collection of must-have pieces — like jean jackets, 5-pocket jeans and overalls — that are absolutely adorable while allowing comfort and full range of movement.”
Our favorite pieces are the jean jackets for boy ($29.50, above left) and girl ($29.50) — it has adorable puff sleeves — and the super cute girl’s jumper ($29.50, above right). We also can’t stop drooling over the easy, yet chic romper ($27) and the classic (with a twist) chambray shirt ($19.50).
