Kate Hudson and Ryder's Street Scene

INF

It’s almost Mardi Gras!

Kate Hudson treats 6-year-old son Ryder Russell to a fun day out, scoping out the Big Easy scene — and collecting some beads — on Saturday.

The actress is in New Orleans shooting her latest movie, Earthbound, costarring Gael García Bernal and Kathy Bates and due out later this year.

Dad is Chris Robinson, who just made Ryder a big brother — the Black Crowes frontman and wife Allison Bridges welcomed daughter Cheyenne Genevieve on Dec. 26.

Wow…what is she wearing? Or not wearing (hello, pants?)
I wouldn’t have thought to take a kid to Mardi Gras, but maybe the daytime activities are tamer?

LOL, that’s what I was wondering too. She literally looks like she just rolled out of bed.

she looks like she rolled out of someone’s car.

I actually think she looks adorable. I wish I looked this good wearing what she is wearing.

She looks like the Olson twins. They are always dressing so sloppy. I wonder why celebrities do that……

It is not Mardi Gras yet. I think she looks fine in what she has on, just a casual day out!

Interesting shoe choice. Lisa, having grown up there, Mardi Gras is extremely family friendly and oriented event. People make special ladders for their kids to sit in as the parades go by! Harmless, free, awesome fun!

Boy, Ryder sure looks like his dad in that picture!

I think Kate looks hot and Ryder is getting so big. Big brotherhood probably suits him. :-)

Mardi Gras is a very family friendly event, even at night (as long as you stay off of Bourbon Street). Some of my fondest childhood memories are of the parades I attended with my family!

Mardi Gras IS and HAS always been a two and 1/2 week family event.

The 4 block length of Bourbon Street you see are ALL drunk ill behaved tourists who can’t handle their liquor.

We, the 500k locals who enjoy the parades along the 4 mile routes, also avoid the French Qauarter NOW, as the drunk tourists have ruined it for us!

I have to go sew my children’s costumes now :)
