Jessica Alba Dishes On Her 'Big Amateur' Mom Move

A Christmas vacation proved eye-opening indeed for Jessica Alba, and in more ways than one! The actress revealed during a Monday visit to The Jay Leno Show that she traveled to Mexico with husband Cash Warren, daughter Honor Marie, 19 months, and a friend who also has small children.

“Now that you have kids it’s different going on vacation,” she noted, adding,

“You know, single people aren’t really trying to wake up early in the morning. They don’t understand a meltdown, and a poopie diaper grosses them out. This is part of our day to day!”

The trip got tricky when Jessica “pulled the big amateur move” of forgetting to pack Honor any toys.

“I’m trying to be a very prepared mom,” she explained, “and you have to pack 10,000 more bags when you have a kid.”

The omission was valuable in at least one respect, however; It offered the first-time parents a glimpse at their daughter’s budding personality, and Jessica, 28, said they didn’t like everything they saw! She elaborated,

“We realized on this trip that my daughter is a bully. She would steal her girlfriend’s toys and push her and pull her hair for a stroller or a baby doll or a purse.”

Jessica’s new movie Valentine’s Day is in theaters Feb. 12th.

Lol I am such a flake while packing for a vacation so I can relate, as for the bully thing, aren’t all kids selfish bullies at that age..I know when I used to help out at a daycare ALL the babies from 12 to 24 months had mean streaks!!

Honor and others her age are not ‘bullies’. It falls well within the range of age appropriate behavior to want what they see. It’s up to parents to teach boundaries and appropriate behavior – which I’m sure Jessica knows…she was just making interesting conversation on a talk show.

Honor is so cute.
I recently went on a vacation and forgot to pack toys for my 13 month old, it’s easily done when trying to remember everything else you have to pack.

I would just like to state as a single person, I do understand the meaning of a meltdown, and I do think poopie diapers are gross but I have changed my fair share of them. But I admire her candor on such a subject. She’s got more guts than I do, taking Honor out of the country.

i think it’s great that they travel with Honor. i remember hearing they went down to Cabo, in Baja Mexico recently. for the celebrity set in los angeles, that is like a trip to palm springs. everything is available there… including a toys r us, costco, and mcdonalds. so it’s not like this far away, exotic journey.

Gosh, all she gets is grief!! She used the word “bully”!! So what! She does not mean that Honor is going to knock a kid out cold! It is a word used when another kid takes another kids toy is bossy, etc…..I think that she knows that it is “appropriate behavior”!! And by her talking about it, she is aware and taking care of it! ALL this PC policing of ALL her comments is so annoying!
