Zuma Rossdale's Slidin' Smiles

ISM/Stefan/Flynet

Zuma Rossdale conquers the slide!

During a playdate in sunny Beverly Hills on Thursday, Gwen Stefani lent her 17-month-old a hand before he went slip-sliding away.

Afterward, the No Doubt frontwoman, 40 — who’s been in the studio with her band this week — hung out on a bench with elder son Kingston, 3 ½.

After some park playtime, the group headed to Nate ‘n Al‘s for lunch.

Here is a real cutie. Great outfit for a playdate at the park.

I love seeing this family! They have boatloads of money…plus nannies, but STILL they are very hands-on… It is obvious that they enjoy spending most of their free times with their boys.

- Danielle on

They are great parents! There is pictures on Just Jared where Kingston is giving kisses to Gwen, it’s so cute!!

- Mrs.B on

I’m so anxious for them to add a little girl to the mix. For some reason that’s what I see for them. 3 kids.

- Mandy on

Kingston is looking so grown-up in that second picture! :)

- CelebBabyLover on

It’s so annoying when people say they have to have a girl! That’s ridiculous, why can’t they be how they are, a happy family?

- poppy on

My goodness Zuma looks just like Gwen here! And Kingston is all Gavin for sure!

- Emaline on

Looks like cute Kingston got another dye job! poor kid’s hair looks dry.Gwen, stop bleaching it!

- g!na on

Here here Poppy, I totally agree with you. They seem a really happy family as they are, what’s the deal with wanting her to have a girl??

- sam on

I love how they are always at the park! They seem so happy and normal and they find time to take their kids out to play.

Poppy, I don’t think people are saying they have to have a girl to be happy. I think they just want to see Gwen have a daughter. She’s definitely so chic and unique and those boys are absolutely adorable. Just imagine what a mini Gwen Stefani would look like!

- Stella on

poppy i think they should have a baby girl mostly because gwen can pass on her girl/rocker style on to her, but if they don’t then that’s ok.

- maggie on

I think Zuma is the happiest little thing I’ve seen. He seems like such fun. I love it.

- FC on

g!na- Relax! I’m sure Gwen wouldn’t be bleaching Kinston’s hair if he didn’t want her to (trust me, at that age, kids aren’t going to sit still for something like that unless it’s something they actually want!)! :) I also doubt Gwen would do anything that would harm her son, so it’s probably organic dye or something like sun-in, which, from I’ve read, isn’t nearly as bad as regular bleach!

Also, it looks like the sun might be making his hair look brighter than it actually is (i.e., he didn’t actually get it bleached again recently!).

In any case, if you look at this photo: http://justjared.buzznet.com/photo-gallery/2412255/gwen-stefani-kingston-kiss-15/, his hair looks very soft, not dry. :)

All of that said, I love Zuma’s puppy/kitty bib (I can’t tell which it is). Oh, and in the photos on Just Jared, there are some of Zuma sans bib, and you can tell that his shirt is from Gwen’s Harajuku Lovers line (it says Harajuku Lovers right on the shirt! :) )

Aw so cute. Zuma and Kingston are adorable as can be.
I think people need to relax about Kingston’s hair. I don’t think Gwen is reading these comments, and she probably never will.
Just be happy that they are well taken care of and are healthy.

Beautiful kids, beautiful parents. BUT..at the risk of being redundant…I CANNOT handle a THREE-YEAR-OLD having highlights in his hair!!!!!!!! He is THREE!!!!!! I have a 3 yr old little girl, and I can promise you that NO 3-year old “wants” to have their hair bleached/foiled/sun-in/lemon juiced/whatever. It sends a horrible message to these young minds…do we need to be this concerned about looks or “coolness” when we are barely out of diapers??? Ridiculous.

- Anne on

Abby- I agree! And Anne, no offense, but how do you know that no 3-year-old wants to have their hair bleached? Maybe Kingston, for example, saw his mother and the other members of No Doubt getting there hair done, and he wanted to be like them. :)

- CelebBabyLover on

@ celebbabylover lol its a cat bib i think because it has whiskers.

- Tina on

Even if Kingston wanted to bleach his hair, which I highly doubt was the case, as a parent, you don’t allow your children to dye/bleach their hair until they’re old enough. Dying and bleaching your hair isn’t isn’t healthy for your body even for adults. that’s why pregnant women shouldn’t use any chemical do their hair.

- Ashley on

Ashely- Actually, from what I’ve read, most doctors agree that it’s okay for pregnant women to dye their hair once they’re past the first trimester, as long as the chemicals don’t touch the scalp. And I also think the jury is still out on whether hair dye is unhealthy or not.

Also, I have known several people who dye their hair or dyed their hair in the past (my own mother being one of them.), and none of them have any health issues because of it (also, none of them have damaged hair, either). :)

Finally, how do we know they actually put chemicals in Kingston’s hair? They could have used lemon juice, sun-in (which, from what I’ve read, isn’t as bad as regular bleach/dye), or some other natural dye/bleacher. :) In anycase, like I said before, I doubt Gwen and Gavin would do anything to hurt their children. :)

- CelebBabyLover on

Even if it WERE “safe”…(as a hair colorist for nearly 20 years I can promise you that for his hair to be THAT light, it is bleach), there is still the idea that a BABY needs to look a certain way! Sends a HORRIBLE message. Would you feel different if she were coloring a little GIRL’S hair?? And as for the thought that maybe Kinston “wanted” his hair colored…ummm…wow. My daughter sometimes asks to wear my lipstick, but I tell her it’s just for grown-ups, and that her lips are perfect the way they are. She sometimes wants to try her Daddy’s cocktail too…so we should just let her????? We have a society of young people already who care more about looks than ANYTHING….and now we sre starting with toddlers???? Come on.
