Meet Vida Alves McConaughey!

Introducing Vida Alves McConaughey! Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves share a personal snapshot of their now 3 ½-week-old baby girl on the actor’s Web site. Not pictured is big brother Levi, 18 months.

“Here’s a pic of our latest family member Vida Alves McConaughey,” the caption reads. “Thanks for all your well wishes our way, the future’s lookin bright, just keep livin, Matthew and Camila.”

Catch Camila as the host of the third season of Shear Genius, premiering Feb. 3 at 10 p.m. on Bravo.

That’s a beautiful picture of the proud and happy parents with Vida, obviously taken not long after she was born.

Gorgeous family! Wonder if they were feeling a girl this time like they did boy before, they are too cute! Did she have a section? I know she really wanted a vaginal birth before, and the baby does have a bit of a cute little conehead so it makes me wonder, I haven’t heard how she gave birth this time. Either way, congrats to them!

this is such a wonderful photo. They aren’t looking at their newborn daughter, but rather each other as if to say, ‘we made another miracle’. The love is just oozing from this photograph.

I wonder if she had a VBAC? The baby is resting on her abdomen, which would be very painful if it was a section. Hmmm…

They are absolutely gorgeous and the love is just oozing out of that beautiful picture. So happy for them!

Jessicad- They haven’t said what type of birth she had. However, per Vida’s birth announcement post here on CBB, she was born at 12:13 a.m., which seems like a VBAC to me (most planned C-sections are performed during regular 9-5 working hours, not at midnight!).

So I’m guessing either VBAC, VBAC attempt that ended in an emergancy C-section (although I doubt that, as Camila certainly doesn’t look like she went through labor and then a C-section in this picture), or Camila DID have a C-section scheduled, but Vida decided she wanted to come earlier than the scheduled day! :)

MontanaMomma- Like I said previously, I DO think Camila probably had a VBAC, due to the timing of the birth, but I don’t think that Vida resting on her abdomen is neccesarily proof of that. My mother had my via C-section, and in the home video that my father took the very next day, I am lying on my mother’s abdomen (although a bit higher up then where her incision was!). :)

Oh, and I’m guessing that the reason Levi wasn’t there (apart from the fact that this picture may have been taken shortly after the birth) is that the hospital Vida was born at probably has the no one under 18 allowed to visit the maternity ward policy that many hospitals have adapted as a Swine Flu precaution in place. :)

I DO sort of wish they had taken a photo after they got home of all four of them and posted that one instead….but they probably really liked this one (plus, given Levi’s age, he could very well be at a stage where he doesn’t like posing for pictures!). :)

So beautiful. I love the naturalness to it. She looks like a happy, exhausted mother and he’s the proud, beaming papa, both on auto-pilot. They just make me think of a happy family holding their newest addition to the family.

It’s just me, but I love when family photos don’t scream Hollywood stars. Like it’s a photo I can find in just about anyone’s family album. :)

in the States, the mom’s last name comes first and then the father’s? Here says Vida Alves McConaughey, i thought it would’ve say Vida McConaughey Alves
