Marcia Cross and Savannah: Pier Pick Me Up

Bauer-Griffin

With the wind in their hair, Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross and daughter Savannah enjoyed a walk on the Santa Monica Pier on a breezy Monday in California.

We just spotted Savannah, 2 ½, and her twin sister Eden out with dad Tom Mahoney over the weekend.

See more photos of the Cross-Mahoneys in their family photo album.

i have 3 sons, so i don’t know much about long hair. is hers extra long or is that normal for a 2 1/2 year old? it seems so long and it’s pretty :)

- sar on

So cute but her hair is really long…

- ElenaS on

I think her hair is absolutely gorgeous! I don’t blame them for not cutting it…she looks angelic.

- Forever Moore on

Wow….Savvy’s hair has gotten really long. She is lovely.

- Brooke on

No hat?

- Ellen Smith on

I saw the picture and all I wanted to comment about was the long hair (before reading the previous posts) LOL…. It sure is long for a 30 months old but I remember a girl I once babysat. She had long curly hair and when she was born she had already curls all over the head… LOL. It’s pretty and I’m glad the parents don’t cut it!!!! I hope they won’t!!! ;o)

- Nancy on

I love her hair!! She’s just a gorgeous little girl!
Hair really depends on the individual, it doesn’t look incredibly long for 2.5 though. My oldest daughter has hair similar to mine that grows fast, and she was born with a lot, her hair was shoulder length by her first birthday and about the same length as Savannah’s by 2. Whereas my second daughter’s hair is similar to that on my mom’s side of the family (and my mother in law’s too), she’ll be 4 in April and her hair is just finally almost shoulder length.

- Amanda on

Savannah does have beautiful hair. I think her sister’s hair is not nearly as long but with tighter curls.

- Alice on

As someone with curly hair, I have to say, better long than short. Curly hair just looks better and is easier to care for if it’s past the shoulders. Otherwise it gets really bushy looking.

Savannah is a lovely little girl!

What’s with all the long hair comments? What could possibly be wrong about a little girl having long hair? By the age of three, my hair was almost down to my waist. The only reason for it to be cut is if she wanted it to be.

That being said, these kids are looking more gorgeous every day!

- Lau on

I don’t get the deal with the long hair comments either. My daughter is 4 and has curly hair the same length as Savannah’s. Who cares?

- Nicole on

They are closer to 3 as their birthday is February 20th !

- Caroline on

She is SUCH a doll! What a pretty little girl! I have long curly hair myself and always wished my daughter would inherit my curls but no such luck :(

- Amy in Oregon on

Love her hair! My daughter is also 2 1/2 and has that same hair but much shorter, it’s finally starting to grow :) I don’t know where she got the curls from because I have long straight hair!

- HeatherB on

I didn’t even notice her hair. All i noticed was how much Savannah looks like Marcia. Holy cow!! I love her hair. It’s so pretty.

- Luna on

Does anyone know if Marcia Cross actually used donor eggs, because I think Savannah’s features sort of resemble Marcia. Maybe I’m just crazy, lol.

- Tina on

Look at that gorgeous girl :) I’m jealous of that hair!!

- Leah on

There is nothing wrong with her hair being long. It’s beautiful and girls are better with long hair.
But I have never seen little girl with that long hair especially because all girls I know with curly hair have shorter hair then the others with straight hair and I touhgt that curly hair grows slower that the straight one

- ElenaS on

What a beautiful little girl Savannah is growing up to be. She looks a lot like her mum and has the most gorgeous hair I have ever seen on a toddler.

- Katrina on

Nicole, it didn’t sound like the comments about Savannah’s long hair were anything more than because most little girls that age don’t have hair that long. My twin and I had hair past our waist at 3-4, but that’s probably because our mother never cut it!

- Alice on

I love her hair! She’s beautiful.

- Meesh on

ElenaS – It’s not that curly hair grows slower, but that it shrinks up when it dries. For example, my hair is below my shoulders when it’s wet or staraihhtened, but shrinks up to about an inch above my shoulders when dry and curly. That’s why it’s really important to find stylists who know how to cut curly hair. Even the littlest trim cab make a big difference!

- mrsh on

I didn’t read the comments as negative…all said her hair was gorgeous. People need to chill.

- Lisa on

She’s got such gorgeous little curls! :)

- {JeLisa} on

My daughter has really long hair. She had one trim in her 2nd year (first hair cut). Then when she turned 3, we cut 8 inches off and donated it to Pantene Beautiful Lengths (which is like Locks of Love, but they need 8 instead of 10), and she just had her 3rd cut now that she has turned 4. Long hair can be difficult, but its also easier if you can put it up in a ponytail than when its not long enough to do that.

- Leslie on

Their hair is longer! Pretty curls. Wonder if they will turn red in the years to come.

- All Women Stalker on

What a great pic of Marcia and Savannah. Eden and Savannah sure are growing up so fast. I can’t believe that they will be 3 next month.

I didn’t take the comments as negative either. People just seemed surprised that Savannah’s curly hair was so long. :)

- Lana on

I agree the longer curly hair gets the more manageable because the curls are weight down. I have a question, i’ve heard that Marcia Cross used donor eggs? Is that true? It doesn’t make a difference either way but I’m just curious.

- Electra on

She said that as you age, fertility can become a huge issue if you want to be a mother, and that there’s nothing wrong with donor eggs.

I’m not sure if she was hinting at her own use of donor eggs, or if she was speaking in general terms (she has a master’s in psychology and seems to be very aware about celebrity influence). She HAS acknowledged that she’s used fertility treatments, at the very least.

Savannah’s eyes and eyebrows do look strikingly like her mother’s.

- Charlene on

Charlene is correct. Marcia has never confirmed or denied using donor eggs. Personally, I don’t think she did, as the girls look practically like clones of her! :)

- CelebBabyLover on

She is cute, true. Her hair is beautiful, but does not have something very special, I guess. About its lengh, when I was 3, my hair was down to my waist.

Anyway, it’s crazy how she just looks like her mom on that picture !!
