Bo Bice Welcomes Son Ean Jacob

Randi Radcliff

It’s a third son for Bo Bice and wife Caroline, the American Idol alum confirms.

Ean Jacob Bice arrived Friday at 10:30 a.m., weighing in at 8.5 lbs., the season four runner-up announced via Twitter. “Welcome To Life My Son,” Bo, 34, wrote. “U Make Us Proud.”

Baby Ean joins big brothers Caleb James, 17 months, and Aidan Michael, 4. “The rock triad will now be complete,” Bo’s rep joked at the time of the pregnancy announcement. “Watch out for the ‘Brothers Bice’ or ‘Bo Bice Brothers Band’ release later this year!”

Caroline’s due date was Jan. 31.

Congrats to the family on a healthy baby boy!

To Bo and his family! I love the name!

- Shannon on

Congrats to them. I prefer the Ian spelling but find all of their boys names to be nice.

- Brandi on

Ian is a nice name but I just don’t think “Ea” looks like it makes the same sound as “Ia”. Oh well, still happy he’s healthy!

Cute name – not so cute of a spelling.

- JMO on

I do not like the way this is spelled at all. Ian is such a nice name, why mess with it?

He will be called Een his whole life.

- Brooke on

Brooke; Een means one in Welsh so maybe they did it on purpose ;)

Congratulations to the Bice Family!!

I love the spelling. I think all of their sons’ names are great!

- Francie on

They probably did it because now their boys’ first initials spell ACE. Not that I know, just that was the first thing that popped in my head. LOVE the name! Congrats to them.

Ean is actually a legitimate name, it’s a Manx (language on Isle of Man) form of John (just like Ian and Iain are Scottish forms, Eoin is the Gaelic form, Ifan is Welsh, etc). I quite like it!

- Sonya on

Ean is my Grandads name.

- Clare on

It could be pronounced Ay-an. That’s my cousin’s name.

That’s great! They’re going to be so busy with two under two. Three boys is not going to be an easy task! I like the name. Congratulations Bo, Caroline, Aidan, and Caleb on your new baby.

- Luna on

Wow! I can’t even imagine 3 little boys 4 and under lol. It’s probably fun though and his other 2 are adorable….Congratulations to them.

I think it would be cool to have 2 (or 3) boys then a girl, so she can have 2 protectors.

Congrats to Bo and his wife! I always liked Bo Bice when he was on idol – he has a beautiful voice. Three boys….I also have 3 and Bo, a word of advice – be prepared for lots of very boisterous behaviour! I like the name too. Someone mentioned the pronunciation ‘Ay-an’. I like that as well.

Ean and Aidan are so similar. Caleb really stands out. I love Caleb.

- Jane on

Jane, ita. maybe they changed the spelling so that Ean (Ian) was not contained in Aidan. I don’t care for spelling changes, but I’m sure they like it ;) It’s nice to see he is still a family man with his wife after all of the exposure.

I love the name Ian, but not the way they spelled it… Ean. I feel like Aidan and Ean are so much alike, Caleb stands out to me. Congrats! 3 boys under the age of 4, fun for sure!

- Leighton on

Maybe they went with Ean so it would be pronounced E-n and not like Ian Ziering’s I-n. Just a thought.

- Juanita on

I concur with Sonya… my mother’s side heralds from the Isle of Man and we have Ean’s in our ancestry as well.

- fuzibuni on

Ean Jacob Bice – sounds great, congrats to daddy and mum!

- Nick on

LOVE that they chose the Manx/Gaelic spelling! It is so much better than I-A-N! I named my second son that in ’08 and we get soooooo many compliments on it!

Hope his family his happy and healthy!
