Kourtney Kardashian and Mason Dodge the Drops!

Albert Michael/Startraks

New mom Kourtney Kardashian took advantage of a break in the rain to run a few errands with her sleeping baby boy, Mason Dash, Wednesday in Los Angeles.

The reality star says she’s enjoying the transition into motherhood, even if the timing of her outings has to coincide with her 5-week-old son’s naps!

“We’re on Mason’s schedule, waking up every couple of hours to breastfeed. But it’s fun to get up and see him. I miss him by the time I see him again,” she says.

Mason is the first child for Kourtney, 30, and boyfriend Scott Disick.

I always loved her hair.I think Mason will grow up to be a real cutie :)

- Skye on

Mason’s so cute, but where the heck is his hat?! He should still be covered even if it’s not raining.

- sarah on

She could use a sling for him it would be easier!

- Deanna on

everyone please stop making comments about what he should be wearing or how she needs to use a sling!!! Lets just enjoy the pictures and say positive stuff. Because no matter what she does, she won’t be able to please everyone.
SO with that said, I love seeing her out and about with her son. So cute! I think motherhood really suits her. :)

- dlock on

My little man used to hate a hat, and screamed until we took it off, so perhaps it’s just easier for Kourtney not to put a hat on him, or it fell off or something? Who cares, is it really that important? He looks healthy, she looks healthy, thats all that matters!

- Chloe on

Ahh i just love the newborn stage. too bad that it doesnt last long!!! He seems precious and I bet that she is really enjoying motherhood!!!

- Casey on

She looks miserable…

- Jamie on

Well said dlock! I think mason is too cute. I can’t wait to see him grow up.

- Luna on

How cute is he, i say very. He looks tiny. And remember rain doesn’t always mean it is cold. She doensn’t even have on a jacket. I also happen to live in California so I know this to be fact. Here rain equals wet, not necesarily cold.

- Renee on

He looks pretty bundled up and perfectly fine to me, and she looks like all new moms do…exhausted and gorgeous!

- Jessicad on

Aah! So precious!

- Emaline on

Actually, it’s far more dangerous to over-bundle a baby than to under-bundle them. Over-bundling will lead to dehydration. My daughter is, and always has been, a naturally hot child. She is very prone to dehydration due to over-bundling, so the “traditional” rules of bundling a baby, never applied to her. Yet it never stopped the busy-bodies from making comments to me about whether I had my child dressed warm enough. Not all babies are the same. I think Kourtney (and for that matter, most mothers) knows what’s best for HER child.

Also, I don’t think she’s looks miserable, just tired, which is completely normal.

Oh, and not all babies like slings. Again, my own daughter would scream anytime I tried to sling her. When she got big enough, she liked the Baby Bjorn, but NEVER liked the slings.

- mrsh on

Cute!

Looks like she’s holding a hat at the very bottom of the picture, on her fingers. He may not like hats or it may have fallen off. Also, being in California.. rain doesn’t mean cold. He looks happy, healthy and perfect, so I’m not too worried about the lack of a hat!

- katie on

Wow little Mason is soo cute! Kourtney looks great and seems to be adjusting to motherhood well.

- Brittany on

I, along with many other mothers, have children who did not like feeling bound in a sling. She has a newborn baby, who doesn’t look miserable at that point? Some of you are so judgmental!

- Andrea_momof2 on

I also have to get in on the sling comments…why is there such a push to put your child in a sling??? Even though slings have been used for years, it just seems like the fad thing to do nowadays…some women just have trouble comprehending that not all of us mothers or even our children like them!! Why the push?

- cris on

Super cute!
I don’t really care so much that she doesn’t have him in a sling, I happen to not like the slings, they just aren’t my style. But why is he not in a stroller? I just can’t imagine getting a newborn in and out of the infant car seat. As for her looking miserable- how would you feel if someone was snapping photos of you 5 weeks after having a baby!

- Shannon on

FYI- If you look at the picture on people.com on StarTracks you can see the entire picture and she is holding a baby blue baby hat in her hand. It must’ve fallen off. I mean seriously do you think any mother celebrity or not would not take care of her baby.

Anyway- She looks stunning! Congrats to her.

- LaLA on

Where’s his hat? Where’s the sling? Where’s the stroller? Man, it must be tough to be a celebrity mom with the constant criticisms. In my opinion, the baby is adorable, the mama is beautiful, and everything is just fine without all the accessories.

- Angel on

That is one seriously beautiful little boy! He is a Kardashian, for sure, looking just like Robert Sr. and Jr.

- KiwiKiki on

I have to LOL at the “Where is his___?” comments! Babies have been raised for thousands of years, lovingly and safely to adulthood, without all of the modern baby accoutrements! LOL!

- KiwiKiki on

If she had him in a stroller you would complain that she is not holding him and therefore not bonded with her baby.

She can’t win.

- Danielle on

I actually LIKE the fact that she has been spotted so many times just holding her son in her arms =) We don’t plan to use strollers either for our little one, why bother when we have arms to carry!?

- Sarah on

He’s adorable!

In regards to the comment that “she looks miserable,” she’s a mother to a newborn. If she looked refreshed and smiling from ear to ear, people would complain that she’s projecting a false image of new motherhood and how it’s a breeze.

The other complaints are equally ridiculous.

- Liliana on

Well said, Danielle. When I first saw this photo, I didn’t see a thing wrong. Of course, everyone always has something negative to say. Sure, she doesn’t look overjoyed or happy in this picture, but I think miserable is an exaggeration. Think about it. If you’re walking through the rain with a baby and there are people everywhere trying to get a picture of you, chances are you aren’t going to be very happy. Maybe, as other posters have mentioned, Mason hates being placed in a sling. The important thing is, Mason seems healthy and loved.

- Terry on

First of all, they both look beautiful.

She does not look miserable. She looks a bit tired and maybe a little annoyed at being photographed or whatever.

- Hea on

Pretty nasty weather to be out with a newborn :(

- l.j. on

Why is she carrying him with her right arm….didn’t she know carrying him in the left arm is the way to go! seriously. Get with it Ms. Kardashian!

- JMO on

Aww Mason is adorable and Kourtney always looks lovely. Asn for the hat comments, she’s probably on her way from the car to a shop or something, outside for probably no more then 30 seconds, give her a break. I love seeing pics of them. Also, I don’t think she looks miserable, she’s probably just hurrying to get to where she’s going and avoiding the flashes from the paps. If she was grinning ear to ear and smiling/waving to the paps people would accuse her of being an attention whore. She’s doesn’t look as though she’s doing anything different to any other mother in the world right now. Beautiful mummy/son combo : )

- Karla on

OK…maybe she’s annoyed that the paps are snapping her while she is busy with the baby? Did that occur to anyone who posted she looked “miserable”? Maybe she’s trying to get around the paps. Maybe she’s tired. Maybe she’s in the middle of a thought. Maybe she doesn’t feel well. Give the girl a break already. And as for carrying the baby in the right arm instead of the left…are you kidding me? That’s the nitpickiest thing I have ever heard! And so she took the baby out while there was a break in the rain…who cares. I think the baby can handle it, and I’m sure she has dressed him appropriately for the California weather. Sheesh. I think some of you need to read the Jennifer Garner post on the first page and let this stuff go already!

I love little Mason. He is dressed beautifully. And I think she looks beautiful and is doing great with him :)

- Jennifer on

I don’t see how she looks miserable. I walked around everyday and rarely see people smiling unless they’re with someone else. People don’t just walk around smiling, thats not the nature of a smile.

- Electra on

I think it is refreshing to see a mom actually HOLD a baby rather than have some gadget to do it for them to keep her hands free. Baby’s need love and warmth. I encourage her to take responsibility and holdher baby.

- Whatever on

Haven’t we all had to take our babies out in the rain (at some point???) Some of these comments are ridiculous! I think she enjoys carrying her baby, and to that I say KUDOS TO HER! I absolutely loved holding my babies and never put them down.

- HeatherR on

Everyone who is wondering where this is, where that is, why is Kourtney doing this, why isn’t she doing that, needs to go read the post just up about Jennifer Garner.

Dash is so, so cute, and I think Kourtney looks great!

- alice jane on

Make that Mason, not Dash…. :D Not sure why I called him by his middle name!

- alice jane on

she looks great and so does the baby.. its every mothers own choice to either hold or use a stroller.. maybe next pic we’ll see her using a stroller.. who knows? its up 2 her..i would use a stroller personally.. but thats just me.. but as far as her being annoyed w/ the paps.. PLEASE! she loves every minute of it!!! lol

- al on

i also cant wait to see him grow up.. that should be interesting! :)

- al on

So sweet!

Petunia Pickle Bottom identified the outfit on their facebook site: “Baby Mason appears to be wearing the Snuggle Set with matching socks…”

- Coco on

To JMO- haha! Nice. :) I actually don’t know much about this girl- never seen the show and couldn’t give her name without reading it here, but I do remember reading something about her and that blonde playboy girl being worried if they could BF with their implants. I’m happy to read that she is in fact succeeding! Good for her. :) Oh, and I want to know why her hair is down and wavy- does she really think *real* moms have time to do their hair??

- yippy on

I don’t see miserable. I see the look of a new mom…focused. You can’t catch celebs smiling and happy all the time.

I for one am not a fan of the sling. I’ve always thought they look uncomfortable for baby (even though I’ve read they aren’t). Lol I have this fear that the thing is going unravel or something crazy like that.

Baby Mason is so adorable!

- RIP Michael on

I live in Los Angeles and I can tell you it is COLD and very rainy — as in thunderstorms and hail today. It’s fine to take a baby out in bad weather, of course, but he is nowhere near dressed appropriately.

- Madison on

Oh what did people do before slings and carriers!?!

- Erin on

LOL, the Mommy brigade is in force.

I think she oughta be using the football hold, personally.

- felice on

LOL I knew the minute I clicked on here that there would be tons of comments about what she should be doing… against all odds..seems to me she has a beautiful baby boy, she looks dang good and holy cow… I see her and only her carrying the baby!! Where oh where is the nanny? And no pictures of the daddy.. they must be on the outs as well! I agree with one poster…read what Jennifer Garner wrote above..if we cant help each other out, maybe those that have nothing nice to say, should just say nothing at all!

- melissa on

Jennifer- I’m pretty sure that JMO was being sarcastic! :)

mrsh- Very good point! It’s very possible that Mason is a “hot child” just like your child! :)

- CelebBabyLover on

Where’s his baby gym? :-O

- Hea on

Just let the woman be already! She is holding a 5 wk old baby who looks as if he was just crying or having a fit. And you can clearly see she is holding a hat. Its nice to see her actually holding her baby and ALL moms know that no hold is the “right” hold of a squirmy upset baby, as long as you have a tight grip. She is beautiful to be 5 wks into mommyhood, her baby is precious, and her hair is gorgeous! Let it go!!!

- Untitled on

LOL Electra! Would that not be totally freaky if everyone just walked around alone all the time smiling from ear to ear?!
I think she looks absolutly beautiful! Maybe a bit tired but so pretty and serene none the less!

- Allison on

Sarah, you say you won’t use a stroller now, but wait till you find out how heavy and awkward babies can get lol. I was on my high horse saying “oh we dont need an infant carrer, Ill just carry him” too, yeah that lasted about as long as the first doctors appointment and trip to the grocery store! Slings got uncomfortable too after about 6 months…Kourt looks like shes doing a great job, I always think the women on this site are like nightmare mother in laws. You’ve always got to pick about something…

- Jessica on

I’ve always hated the sling or any type of carrying contraption, it was in the arms or a stroller all the way for me. So I don’t have a problem with her holding her son.

And I NEVER smile when I’m just walking around, my BF gets on me about it, but I always ask him if there’s no reason to smile, why would I??? Usually I’m just lost in thought, or determined to get where I’m going, it could be a number of things, so I just think she’s doing her thing and there’s no reason for her to smile. JMHO, tho. :)

- daniela on

Kourtney will NEVER be able to win with you people…seriously..if it’s not one thing, its another. I think she looks gorgeous & from her twitter/interviews she obviously loves being a mommy. Mason is too cute btw!

- Lady on

This picture is perfect, and she and her son look beautiful. I can’t believe people actually found things to pick at her about. There must be some really unhappy women in here. This is just what Jennifer Garner was referring to in that post.

- GiannaG on

#32- so are you saying that mothers who use slings or wraps are irresponsible? I personally used a Moby wrap all the time for my youngest, and you know what? Using that kept her even closer to me than just holding her in my arms did. She was able to be right on my chest, skin to skin, wrapped nice and tight and warm. She could feel my heartbeat and hear my breathing. She could still feel my hands on her back. Believe me there is no way she was lacking in warmth and love being wrapped like she was. And so sue me if yeah, sometimes it is a little easier to have my hands available. It’s a heck of a lot better than having to put the baby down to scream with no one there while mom does chores, wouldn’t you say?

And for everyone who says “what did moms do before there were slings?”, check out your history. Mothers have been using wraps and slings and all kinds of contraptions to carry thier babies hands free for centuries. Asians, American Indians, Eskimos, African women, etc, etc they have ALL used them.

- Shannon on

Jennifer – I indeed was being sarcastic!!!

- JMO on

She doesn’t look miserable at all even for a moment in time! She looks like she is handling an almost fussy baby and her other hand is very full. Right hand left hand…what! Never heard such a thing. If she is right handed wouldn’t she want to trust her strongest hand with the most precious cargo? BTW major kuddos to her for be comfortable enough to carry him without the carseat-I couldn’t with my first!

- April on

Oh lord this is hilarious!!! Jennifer-even i got that JMO was being sarcastic!! funny at that too/

- jenny on

SO in love with her.

xoxo

- letseatcake! on

She looks tired, not miserable, like most mothers I know!

Has anyone thought that perhaps she is just getting out of or into the car and the pusher/sling is nearby? I personally never used a sling and coped fine.

JMO, you crack me up! I was waiting for the whole ‘if you carry him this way, he will be less likely to get gas’ etc. Maybe there is a study out there (because we have all heard it before) which proves that is boys are carried in their mother’s arms in the first 3 months they grow up to be geniuses? (Just to clarify, I am joking!)
