Dwayne Johnson: Daughter Still Believes in Tooth Fairy

Sporting a pink tutu and wings, Dwayne Johnson is about as far from “The Rock” as he could possibly be in his new film The Tooth Fairy.
The 37-year-old actor jumped at the chance to assume the title role, however, and notes that his own parents “did a wonderful job” of keeping the notion of a tooth fairy alive for him.
“The spirit of what that means — giving and giving back — I was really fortunate to have a mom and dad in my life who believed in my own potential,” he tells PARADE.
Now that Dwayne is a dad — to 8-year-old Simone Alexandria — it’s his turn to return the favor. “Whether you have kids or not, as adults we’re all connected in some way to children and we have a power to influence them — just make sure that they understand their own potential and how important dreams are,” he says.
To that end, Dwayne says that Simone’s dreams of the tooth fairy are alive and well. “I want to be careful what I say because she might just read this,” he cautions.
“Let’s put it this way. I have been in the room when the Tooth Fairy has taken a tooth from under her pillow, but then I walked out the room very quickly because I didn’t want to look at the Tooth Fairy. I got scared.”
Simone is Dwayne’s daughter with ex-wife Dany Garcia.
The Tooth Fairy is in theaters Friday.
