Jillian Barberie Reynolds Says Rocco Is 'So Content and Happy'

Ramey

Phoning in to her Good Day L.A. co-anchors last week, Jillian Barberie Reynolds said that her worst fears about a c-section were never realized.

The 43-year-old television personality Tweeted her concerns in the days leading up to the Jan. 11th delivery of son Rocco Rio, but said she was pleasantly surprised afterward.

“I did watch it on a mirror above me,” she revealed two days after the birth. “[Husband] Grant [Reynolds] videotaped it and I love watching it.”

“You know what, I was so freaked out about this but I was up and walking yesterday. The day after the surgery I felt great, and I’m going home tomorrow.”

Adding that “they say when they slice and dice [the babies] come out perfect,” Jillian suggested that that much has proven true, noting that daughter Ruby Raven, 2 ½, was born with a “crooked” nose. As for the new big sister, Jillian said that Ruby has not been able to visit Rocco in the hospital, which forbids children under the age of 18 from stopping by during flu season.

Baby boy looks like his dad, Jillian said. “He’s in my arms right now and he’s just so content and happy,” she raved, and it sounds like he’s not the only one! Added Jillian,

“I watched American Idol last night while breastfeeding, and I was thinking, ‘God this is the life!’ I could get used to this.”

slice and dice makes perfect babies? Interesting…maybe fewer deviated septums, but much higher incidence of breathing problems.

We know what ruby’s getting for her 16th! crooked nose, not the nicest comment from a mamma.

My natural birth son was a conehead with a smooshed nose and a forehead bruise. It can be hard getting out into the world! My c-section son had a perfectly round head and no “beauty issues” because he was cut out of me instead of going through the birth canal. What Jillian’s saying is true and she was joking around about it. Not sure why things get taken so seriously around here.

Perfect with an increased risk of complications up to and including death for mama and baby. Sounds perfect to me.

This whole interview just rubbed me the wrong way. She sounds very superficial.

Brandi- I agree!

True Brandi. Laura, I would think that there’s risks of complications with every birth.
