Michelle, Busy and Girls: Park Playdate!

After spending New Year’s vacationing in Hawaii, Michelle Williams and daughter Matilda Rose made a stop in Los Angeles, spending time with the 4-year-old’s godmother, Cougar Town star Busy Philipps, and her daughter Birdie Leigh, 16 months.

The former Dawson’s Creek costars took their daughters to Griffith Park for a playdate and pony rides, but left time for some girl talk as well — the actresses were also spotted grabbing Starbucks and shopping solo in Pasadena, Calif. earlier in the week!

Matilda is Michelle’s daughter with the late Heath Ledger, while Birdie is Busy’s daughter with husband Marc Silverstein.

Matilda wears Minnetonka Moccasins’ Back-zipper Boot in Tan ($31).

Busy carries Skip Hop’s Studio Diaper Tote in Champagne ($89).

Matilda looks so much like her late father, i want to cry, i was watching Monster’s Ball on Sunday, and i cried through out the movies…….at least i’m sure he’s looking down on his daughter and is her angel in some way. beautiful picture

I don’t see the problem with Michelle carrying Matilda? Matilda may be half Michelle’s size but she is still only 4 years old. 4 year olds can get tired from walking or simply want the comfort of their mother’s arms. I see no problem with Michelle carrying her every now and then if she is able to. It doesn’t seem to me that Michelle is struggling.

Anyway I think both little girls are adorable!

My 3.5 yr old is 42″ tall and I still carry him. I see nothing wrong with a mom wanting to carry her child if she wants to. How can you fault a mom for wanting to be close to her child?

As for the boots, who cares what shoes she’s wearing? They’re spending time with their kids, and that’s all that matters.

Matilda looks sooo much like Heath, it’s crazy. She’s a doll, and so is Birdie!

I don’t see the problem on Michelle carrying Matilda, this is a picture, maybe she carried her just for 2 minutes, and then she continued walking, who knows?
My 4 yr old loves to walk, we don’t use the stroller anymore since she was 3, but when we do long walks she asks me to carry her a little so she can rest, or she just wants to give mommy a hug:)

brad pitt once made a comment about him carrying his daughters wherever they went.
someone came up to him and tried to give him what for about it,
and he explained with a thin veil of patience,
that because of the paparazzi all day every day,
its a total safety thing.
so of course, my god, carry that child. protect them from the insanity.

Hey #10 my child is 6 years old and defintely more than half my size, but every now and then, if she’s wanting some closeness with her mommy, you can bet I still pick her up and carry her around for a few minutes. Think I’m ridiculous, too?

Birdie is a beautiful little baby. I loved Busy on ER, and it’s so great to see pics of her with her gorgeous littl girl! I love Michelle, she seems like such a good mommy. Mathilda looks so much like her daddy, it makes me wanna cry just looking at her. She’s a doll!

i have 2 boys who are 5 and 8. the 8 year old is much too big for me to carry anymore- he’s almost 4 foot 10!- but there are times when i know he would like it. i can barely pick up the 5 year old anymore but today he was sad about something so i held him for a few minutes. most old kids just like it because it is extra comfort. give them a minute in your arms or sitting on your lap and they are fine.
