NASCAR Champ Jimmie Johnson Expecting First Child

Gary Gershoff/WireImage

He may be used to top speeds on the race track, but four-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson will soon be living life at a much slower pace.

The 34-year-old and his wife of five years Chandra will become first-time parents when they welcome a baby this July, a rep for Jimmie confirms. No other details have been released.

After four consecutive wins of the Sprint Cup Series championships — the only driver to date to do so — Jimmie was named male athlete of 2009 by the Associated Press.

Congratulations to Jimmie and Chandra! They seem like a very down-to-Earth, kind and loving couple. They are always doing charity events. Many blessings to them!

All I can say is the baby is gonna be gorgeous with those two as parents. Congratulations Jimmie and Chandra, One of the only things that can measure up to a championship title is the birth of your very first baby!

I too say good for them and congrats… now the real question is, will it be a future NASCAR champ, Super Model, or Super NASCAR Model Champ? -Bruce

Great news. I’m such a Jimmie fan, I practically feel like I’m going to be a godmother! Jimmie and Chandra are a terrific couple. This is going to be a very fortunate baby.
