I feel badly for the quadraplegic mother but I also see where the father is coming from. I think the person who gets custody should be the better parent. Does having 24/7 help make the mother a lesser parent? I don’t know!

If she was a capable enough parent for him to have a child with, she’s capable enough for her to have some right to parent that child. My physical limitations make it harder for me to do some things, but having physical limitations shouldn’t automatically disqualify you from being a parent.

I loved the story about the 23 year old getting adopted. It absolutely made me cry and was so honest and made an amazing point – just because you’re grown doesn’t mean you need love and a family any less, regardless of if that family is a man and a woman, or two women, or in this case, two men.

Just beautiful.

I think the story about the 23 yr old getting adopted by that couple is really beautiful. Just because you get older doesn’t mean you don’t need a family, or parents to love you. It may have come late for him but at least it meant the right couple get to be his parents. It may be unusual but they are happy, and I am happy for them. Such a heartwarming story and I wish them all the best.

That was such a great story to read about the man who got adopted. So many kids in the foster care system don’t form that bond with anyone, and once they reach 18 and are on their own, are literally on their own. I have a lot of admiration for the adoptive parents for giving Sampsen that opportunity.
