Paul Bettany: 'Film Sets Are Great For Children'

James Devaney/WireImage

In the new film Creation Paul Bettany stars alongside wife Jennifer Connelly, working together for the first time since 2001′s A Beautiful Mind. The couple’s children Stellan, 6, and Kai, 12, are always game for such projects according to Paul, who quips that while “film sets are great for children … working on them is a different thing.”

When asked if the boys had double the fun this time around, Paul, 38, said that subject matter is key. He explains,

“Frankly my son likes it when I’m on a set where I’m killing vampires. He doesn’t come to the set of The Young Victoria and say, ‘That was great when you roundhouse kicked the queen in the head.’”

Of course not every film set features an orangutan, either! Sharing scenes with his furry costar didn’t lead to anxious moments for Paul, however, who insists that his “heartbeat tends to lower when cameras are on.”

“I’m anxious in everyday life. I’m anxious about my kids’ health, my health, whether I’m going to get the job I want, the chicken’s going to turn out all right, the dog’s going to poop in front of the paparazzi.”

Paul’s new movies Creation and Legion are in theaters now. Kai is Jennifer’s son with ex-boyfriend David Dugan.

When it’s cold outside, celebs like Matt Damon, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Sacha Baron Cohen love to get to cozy in Canada Goose — a 50-year-old Canadian-based manufacturer known for its stylish and super-warm outerwear.

Now they (and you!) can bundle up the tots in them too. The company’s new youth collection includes everything from mini parkas to baby snow suits that range from $250 to $355.

The high-end coats are definitely on the pricey side, but the winter-weather features — elasticized rib-knit cuffs, fleece-lined pockets, high-wind resistant hood, storm flap, velcro zipper flap — are well worth the splurge, especially if you know you can hand it down.

Added bonus: Canada Goose adheres to responsible fur and down policies to maintain humane treatment of animals in the production of all their coats.

Julianna Margulies Dishes On Her Good Wife Sacrifice

Steve Granitz/WireImage

The Good Wife has been very, very good to Julianna Margulies. Fresh on the heels of her Golden Globes and SAG Awards wins for best actress in a television drama, the former ER star tells the Times Online that she agreed to the role of Alicia Florrick reluctantly.

“When I took this job, I was very aware of what was involved,” Julianna, mom to 2-year-old Kieran Lindsay, explains.

“I was able to say to my husband, ‘The first year will be hell. You and I will barely see each other, and we’ll have to get a great nanny system down, and I am going to have to work out how all my spare time will only be with you and the baby.’”

There was also the question of where the series would be filmed. A West Coast location would have been a deal-breaker, Julianna, 43, reveals, noting, “I feel like a fish out of water in L.A.”

“In New York, no matter what happens, at the end of the day, I know I’m in my own home, in my own bed and with my family.”

Julianna has been married to Keith Leiberthal since 2007.

Matthew Broderick Says Twins Are 'Pretty Tiring'

Robyn Layton

In his new film Wonderful World, Matthew Broderick portrays a has-been children’s folk singer and divorced dad struggling to maintain a connection with his only daughter. The latter aspect of the character held much more appeal for the real life dad-of-three than the former, he says in a new interview.

“Anything about a father and a kid becoming distant, definitely interests me a lot,” he explains. “The play I am doing now, The Starry Messenger, is about that too a little bit.”

Twins Marion Loretta Elwell and Tabitha Hodge, 7 months, are “pretty tiring” yet also “pretty good,” according to Matthew, 47, who adds that the girls are good sleepers.

“My wife [Sarah Jessica Parker] was away working [on the Sex and the City sequel due out this summer] and I was doing the play, so we’ve had to leave them a lot, so we still have a baby nurse, too. So I have to admit we are not doing it all ourselves.”

In addition to the twins, Matthew and Sarah Jessica are parents to 7-year-old James Wilkie.

Wonderful World is in theaters now.

Stanley Tucci Says Son, Daughters ‘Don’t Really Like’ His Movies

Jennifer Graylock/AP

That Stanley Tucci appears in The Lovely Bones comes as a surprise for many, considering the physical transformation the actor underwent to portray serial killer Mr. Harvey. While the audience will undoubtedly be repulsed by his actions in the film, Stanley says his real-life children Camilla, 8, and twins Isabel and Nicolo, 10, were no fans of his outward appearance, either.

“They saw me dressed up as Mr. Harvey,” he reveals in a new interview. “They were like [in a high-pitched voice], ‘Oooo. That’s really disgusting.’”

While Stanley, 49, has said previously that fatherhood made him hesitant to accept the role, at the same time, he was up-front with his children about what the role consists of.

“I just say, ‘And then the girl dies and I’m the person who kills her.’ They’ll say, ‘Why do you kill her, Dad?’ and I’ll say, ‘Because he’s a very sick person. OK, let’s go eat.’”

Camilla, Isabel and Nicolo “don’t really like to watch movies with me in them anyway,” Stanley adds. “I think because I’m their father they just want me to be me. When I was the bad guy in Kit Kittredge, my youngest daughter got really mad at me.”

Much more Camilla’s speed is “Truant Officer” — a game she and her siblings made up after watching an episode of The Little Rascals.

“I pretend to fall asleep and then they run away and I chase them and catch them. Then I put them in ‘reform school,’ which is the couch.”

All three kids are Stanley’s with late wife Kate Tucci.

The Lovely Bones is in theaters now.
