Caught Caring: Tori Spelling and 2Family.org

Celebrity Baby Blog – Caught Caring

Millions of children will tear into a pile of presents tomorrow morning, many moving so fast they barely have time to process what’s happening, and your children might be among them. Tori Spelling — mom to Liam Aaron, 2 ½, and Stella Doreen, 18 months — did her part last week to make sure numerous disadvantaged youth have at least one present to look forward to on Christmas Day, however.

The 36-year-old reality star and husband Dean McDermott spent December 16 wrapping gifts for 2Family.org. A revolutionary new non-profit organization, it seeks to “remove the distance that alienates struggling children from the worlds generosity.”

2Family does so by connecting adults with youth who are trying to overcome obstacles like homelessness, violence, addictions and more; The adult donates an inspirational item and message, which is delivered to the child, who in turn writes a thank-you note.

All correspondence is handled by 2Family, so that the privacy of both donor and recipient is protected.

2Family does its best to find discounted items to keep costs to a minimum.

Through its website donors can search for a child in need by numerous criteria — including challenges, interests and career dreams — or, if a donor prefers, it’s possible to search by item, narrowed down by price range.

Each participating child has a brief biography, detailing their strengths and the areas in which they struggle.

Travis Barker and His Disneyland Darling

Ahmad Elatab/Saleem Elatab/NPG

There was plenty of ink — and paint! — to go ’round at Disneyland in Anaheim, California on Monday, where Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker was spotted toting daughter Alabama Luella, 4. Not pictured but also present was Alabama’s big brother Landon Asher, 6.

In between rides, dad and kids made time for a quick chat with Santa and even visited with real-life reindeer. The festivities are part of an annual tradition in the Frontierland portion of the park, where visitors can also decorate Christmas cookies and take part in holiday sing-a-longs.

Alabama and Landon are Travis’ children with ex-wife Shanna Moakler.

Cheryl Hines and Catherine: Sweet Treats

Eric Charbonneau/WireImage

Curb Your Enthusiasm star Cheryl Hines, 44, has apparently succeeded in channeling 5 ½-year-old Catherine Rose‘s love of decorating into something a bit more charitable! The mom-daughter duo took part in the St. Joseph Center‘s GingerBread For Good benefit on December 10 in Venice, California.

Earlier this year, Cheryl joked that her daughter’s obsession with paint-your-own pottery had become “a vicious cycle.”

“Now, every time I take her back to pick up her pottery, she wants to color something else.”

With a motto of “Planting Hope, Growing Lives,” the St. Joseph Center currently offers ten programs at seven different locations in Westside Los Angeles County, ranging from childcare for impoverished families to money management for homeless veterans.

Catherine is Cheryl’s daughter with husband Paul Young.

Gerard Way Says Bandit's First Christmas 'Is a Really Big Deal'

Jason Merritt/FilmMagic

My Chemical Romance singer Gerard Way is pulling out all the stops for his 6 ½-month-old daughter Bandit Lee‘s first Christmas! “It is a really big deal,” he notes in a new interview with Spin. “It’s very exciting — even though no matter what we get her she’s not really going to realize what it is.”

From the sound of things, baby girl’s Batman costume is just the beginning. “We got her some fun outfits,” Gerard reveals.

“We still want to get a really lousy Sears picture of her so we’re gonna try to do that next week…[one with] a really sh-tty paper backdrop.”

It’s been a big year for Gerard, who entered the studio just two weeks after Bandit’s birth. His band’s as-yet-untitled album — due in stores this spring — was “more challenging than the baby,” he says, “and the baby was really challenging.”

Revealing that he was “pretty worn out,” Gerard adds,

“I didn’t shave for weeks, looked horrible, and ended up getting all these dreadlocks in my hair. I was never showering. I would show up in a t-shirt covered in baby puke — you can pretty much picture the glamorous nature of that.”

As soon as enough material had been recorded, Gerard would “rush right home” to help out with Bandit — not that he’s complaining! “It made the recording process take a little bit longer, but it made the process more enjoyable,” he says. “I don’t think there was a single night where I was in the studio past like 10 or 11 — I genuinely wanted to get home.”

Bandit is the first child together for Gerard and wife Lindsey ‘Lyn-Z’ Ballato.
