The Stefani-Rossdales Say 'Cheerio' to LA

Matrix/Flynet

Welcome home, Gavin Rossdale!

The British rocker touched down in London after arriving on a Sunday flight from LAX and unloaded the kids — Kingston James McGregor, 3 ½, and Zuma Nesta Rock, 15 months — from the car along with wife Gwen Stefani as they moved into their London digs.

The family is staying in the UK this month after spending last year’s Christmas in the States.

“We alternate each year,” Gavin, 44, recently told Celebrity Baby Blog. “Last year we stayed in the Los Angeles area, but now we’re excited about having an old-fashioned, European holiday. “

Viggo Mortensen Says Children Are the Teachers

Lester Cohen/WireImage

When Viggo Mortensen was approached to star in The Road, based on the novel by Cormac McCarthy, his initial interest in the role seemed less than promising. However, despite his desperate need for a vacation, the actor accepted as not only could Viggo relate to his character’s extreme exhaustion, but the two were also linked by the bond of fatherhood.

“He’s dying of tiredness. All that keeps him going is trying to keep himself and his son alive,” he tells PARADE of his character, who, along with his son, is on a quest to survive in a post-apocalyptic setting.

A proud father himself to “multitalented” Henry Blake, 21 — “he writes poetry and music…he’s done some acting [and he's] also into archaeology” — Viggo notes that the movie’s focus on the father-son relationship indeed mirrors that of real life.

“The son becomes the teacher, which is something I think a lot of parents can relate to. At a certain point your kid starts saying, ‘You tell me I should do this and do that. Why don’t you follow some of your own advice?’”

And while Henry may have taught Viggo a lesson or two over the years, his son’s seemingly bright future did not dispel the doting dad’s guilt. “You’re like, ‘What if I’m away from my infant son or daughter for a few hours, do I trust someone else to take care of them?’” he confesses.

“Then, later in life, you’re more concerned about whether you’ll be around anymore to help your children when they’re out of the nest.”

Henry is Viggo’s son with ex-wife Exene Cervenka. The Road is now in theaters.

Katie Holmes Dishes on Suri's Love of High Heels

Christopher Peterson/BuzzFoto

The high heels recently sported by 3 ½-year-old Suri Cruise might have drawn the ire of some, but mom Katie Holmes says that all the concern is unnecessary.

“They are actually ballroom dancing shoes for kids,” the 30-year-old actress explained to Access Hollywood at the Dizzy Feet Foundation‘s Inaugural Celebration of Dance event in Hollywood Sunday night. “I found them for her and she loves them.” Katie adds,

“She, like every little girl, she loves my high heels.”

It seems as though Suri is taking after Katie in more ways than one, however. In a separate interview with Extra!, Katie revealed,

“She loves dancing and singing and she’s just a joy. She loves it all.”

Suri is the first child together for Katie and husband Tom Cruise, who is also dad to Isabella Jane, 17 this month, and Connor Antony, 14, with ex-wife Nicole Kidman.

Untangled ANYWare Collection: Dishware That Will Steel Your Heart

ANYWare Collection

I’ve always tried to avoid plastic plates. But it’s always a bit risky letting a tantrum-prone toddler snack off your best china.

The Untangled ANYWare Collection of sleek and stylish stainless steel dishware ($40) is the perfect solution. Made entirely of stainless steel, this collection includes a plate, bowl, cup, fork and spoon available in either a butterfly or gecko theme.

Everything is scaled down and perfectly sized for little hands (both my almost-five-year-old and almost-two-year-old love them) and they’re dishwasher safe, too. Anything that makes healthy living easier is okay by me. And when my kids give it the thumbs up… well, that’s even better!
