Kimora Lee Simmons: 'We're a Normal Family, Doing the Best We Can'

Courtesy Page Six Magazine

Appropriately titled Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane, Kimora Lee Simmons‘ reality show depicts an extravagant lifestyle filled with the glitz and glamour of a successful fashion designer.

However, looks can be quite deceiving, a fact made evident in the latest Page Six Magazine.

In a new interview with the magazine, the mother-of-three insists that her life is, first and foremost, dictated by the demands of motherhood.

“My family is the most important thing to me,” she states.

“I’ve never missed any type of performance — not one recital, not one karate belt. If there’s a toe being tapped, or a tune being whistled, I’m there.”

Tobey Maguire on the Importance of Being Present

Anthony/Pacific Coast News

The end of the year is often a time for reflection, and Tobey Maguire says in a new interview that he’s been reflecting on what he can do to simplify his life. The 34-year-old actor tells PARADE that making a list of the various ways he spends his time has motivated him to “edit some things out” in order to make more room for what is truly important.

“It’s kind of a process of self-reflection on how I’m living and spending time with my wife and children, which is a number one priority. But, I love my work as well, so that’s very important too.”

Although he has the ability to run his production company from home, he admits that “it can get in the way of being a dad.”When daughter Ruby Sweetheart, 3, and new baby Otis Tobias, 7 months next week, “pop in” his office Tobey says he’ll stop what he’s doing, but admits, “I’m not as present as I want to be.”

That realization has him charting a new course, however. He adds,

“Now, I’m thinking I’ve got to put everything away, the computers, phones, BlackBerrys, people bothering you about whatever, and just be like, ‘OK, I’m just a daddy right now. I’m going to eat breakfast with my children, I’m going to play with blocks or toys whatever and just totally be with them.’”

Filming Brothers — in which he portrays a U.S. soldier recently returned from Afghanistan — was tough for Tobey; Although the role “resonated” with him as a father, it was often difficult to identify with his character, someone he describes as “a lot more at home with his military family than he is with his wife and kids.”

“It was really heartbreaking to think about how people take things out on the ones they love, especially children who are so full of love and so fragile…I had some scenes where I did things to create havoc in the lives of my wife and children that I could never imagine doing.”

Ruby and Otis are Tobey’s children with wife Jennifer Meyer Maguire. Brothers hits theaters today.

Maya Rudolph Welcomes Daughter Lucille

Jeffrey Ufberg/WireImage

After playing pregnant in this summer’s Away We Go, Maya Rudolph has welcomed a real-life bundle of joy: her second child with director Paul Thomas Anderson.

The couple’s daughter, Lucille, was born Friday, November 6th in Los Angeles, the Saturday Night Live alum’s rep tells PEOPLE exclusively.

Baby Lucille joins big sister Pearl, 4. As with their first child, Maya and Paul, 39, chose not to find out the sex of the baby prior to delivery.

“We didn’t find out with [Pearl] which was kind of fun,” Maya, 37, told David Letterman. “Because when you’re ready to throw in the towel and you’ve got nothing positive to think about or feel, because you’re so heavy and you want to float in a pool of salt water to be buoyant, it was nice to have something to look forward to.”

The couple announced the pregnancy in May.

Padma Lakshmi: 'I'm Genuinely Happy'

Courtesy Page Six Magazine

There are no illusions for Padma Lakshmi about how she’ll someday reclaim her pre-baby body. The 39-year-old Top Chef host tells Page Six Magazine that while some women can maintain their physique with diet alone, she is not one of them.

“You can eat and work out, or you can be the person who only eats a cucumber every day,” she notes. “I’d get really irritable if all I ate was a cucumber, so I have to work hard.”

By her own admission, she’ll have her work cut out for her in late March/early April, when she expects her first child.

“One of the reasons I think I’ve gained weight pretty quickly during my pregnancy is that I’m not exercising as much as I do normally…I can’t. I’m feeling tired, and I have this business to run. You hope that with age, what you pay for in gravity, you gain in gravitas. I’m sure my thighs looked better when I was 25, but I think my mind is better today.”

Admitting that “everything is…plumped up,” Padma reveals that she is “eating all the time now.” If she’s feeling at all anxious about the changes she is about to undergo, Padma isn’t showing it, however.

“I’m genuinely happy,” she proclaims. “I’ve taken a really long time to take the bricks of my life and set them in this way. My life can be as traumatic and as boring as anyone else’s life, but it’s also sweet and comfortable.”
