Robert Sean Leonard 'Looking Forward' to Raising Daughter Away From Hollywood

Kevan Brooks/AdMedia

House star Robert Sean Leonard — who has portrayed Dr. James Wilson on the hit show since 2004 — says that being a stage actor is more conducive to family life being a television actor.

Having recently welcomed his first child, 10-month-old Eleanor, Robert notes in a new interview with Deadbolt that arriving at the theater at 7:30 p.m. and arriving home by 11 p.m. would be a vast improvement over the hours he currently keeps.

“Getting up at four in the morning and getting home at 7:30 at night is, you know, unless you’re William Randolph Hearst, it just seems a little excessive to me. I have a daughter and my wife, and my dogs, and I like reading, and I like the hours of stage a lot better.”

Not that he’s complaining! He concedes that House has “financially” given him the opportunity to someday pursue a simpler life far from the glitz and glamor of Hollywood.

“I’m so looking forward to skate keys and homework and driving her to soccer and being back in New Jersey, and just being home,” he adds.

Eleanor is Robert’s daughter with wife Gabriella Salick.

Tobey Maguire’s Joke Is Jennifer’s Naming Nightmare

Anthony/Pacific Coast News

For Tobey Maguire and his wife, jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer Maguire, it took more than Spidey sense to choose names for their two children — they needed the gift of time!

During a Friday visit to The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the actor explained that when it came to naming children Ruby Sweetheart, 3, and Otis Tobias, 7 months, patience was a virtue for the pair.

“We didn’t name either of our children before their births,” he shares. “We like to meet them. We talk about it and we have ideas, but we want to kind of react to them.”

That decision came with a price for Jennifer, however! Two weeks after baby boy was born — and still no name — a deadline was necessitated when the couple needed to apply for a passport for their son.

“It was the last day, so I went down [to Los Angeles for the birth certificate], my wife was at home,” he shares. “It was so sweet, I was calling her and we were excited. We’re going to do it…Otis.”

One thing the couple hadn’t confirmed with each other was the exact spelling, providing Tobey with the prime opportunity to play a practical joke on Jennifer! “I got an extra form and filled it out and misspelled Otis,” he admits.

“We spell it Otis, but I spelled it Oatis on the form and brought it back to my wife and was acting very innocent. ‘Oh, I’m so excited! It’s official! Look,’ and I handed her the paper.”

Prompting the audience to “watch her face,” Tobey goes on to share a home video of the unforgettable moment of truth — check it out in the extended post!

'Impatient' Amy Adams Wants to Know Sex of Baby

Lucas Jackson/Landov

“Careful ladies, it’s in the water!” That’s Amy Adams‘ take on the baby boom occurring in her group of friends — and the actress has found herself the latest addition to the pool.

Due this spring with her first child with fiancé Darren Le Gallo, the Leap Year star tells Entertainment Tonight in an interview airing Monday evening that she’s too “impatient” to wait for a surprise in the delivery room.

“We’ll probably find out. I thought about waiting and I just don’t think that’s really my personality,” notes the actress, 35. “It’s not about planning a nursery, it’s more about I just want to know. I want to be able to relate in that way. That’s what works for me, but I totally believe in whatever works for the individual.”

As for walking down the aisle with Darren, whom she’s been dating for seven years and became engaged to in July 2008, it will have to wait a bit longer.

“We actually had a date, and then we had to push it because I took a part,” she explains. “I actually had to get permission and I called him and said, ‘We’re actually going to have to push the date.’ Now that I have the time off we’ll definitely be planning it.”

Leap Year arrives in theaters January 8th.
