Joey McIntyre Keeping Name of Baby-On-The-Way a Secret

Roger Karnbad/Celebrity Photo

As he awaits the birth of his second son, Joey McIntyre is keeping mum. The 36-year-old New Kids on the Block singer says that he and wife Barrett know baby-on-the-way’s name but won’t share it with friends or family until he arrives.

“My sisters are mad at me,” Joey admits. “God forbid we keep a couple secrets in this day and age!” He adds,

“I think people are afraid of the reaction, good or bad. If you say a name, you’re very sensitive about the name, so you don’t want people to have that reaction and go [disparagingly] ‘Mmmm,’ whereas once the baby’s born, people are a little more inviting of that name.”

The couple took son Griffin Thomas, 2, to Disneyland recently for “one more special time” as a family of three, but it appears as though Griffin is ready for the main event!

“My sister-in-law had a baby six months ago, so it was perfect timing,” Joey explains. “Here is this beautiful little girl that he can be around and learn how to be gentle.”

“He adores her. Hopefully it will be the same situation. It’s going to be fun to have a couple of boys around.”

Joey and Barrett’s baby boy is due this month.

Caught Caring: Appaman and New York Cares

Celebrity Baby Blog – Caught Caring

With winter just weeks away, odds are you’ve already reached for your coat a time or two. For millions of others, however, a warm coat is hardly a wardrobe staple over the following months — it’s a luxury.

By some estimates, 90% of New York City’s homeless need a new coat each winter, because they have nowhere to store their coat over the summer, and that’s why coat drives are a common sight this time of year.

Celebrity Baby Blog – Caught Caring

Appaman has set itself apart, however. Not only is the über-hip childrenswear maker hosting a drive, it’s also matching a new coat for every gently used coat donated at their corporate headquarters in New York City.

Appaman co-founder Lynn Husum said she was “thrilled” to once again host the drive, which will benefit New York Cares. She adds,

“Being a part of such a collective effort to keep people warm feels right. I just hope that our effort encourages people to do the same in their neighborhoods.”

Last year New York Cares collected nearly 70,000 winter coats during the month of December and distributed them to thousands of men, women, and children who would otherwise be cold. If you live outside of New York City but would still like to contribute, Appaman encourages you to hold your own coat drive, and if you are local but can’t make it to the Appaman office, a list of drop-off locations can be found here.

Coats are but just one aspect of a “month of giving” by Appaman, however. This week the brand’s co-founder Harald Husum will travel to China, where he’ll meet with orphans and distribute packages of Appaman apparel, and on December 21 Appaman will donate boxes of toys and diapers to LYFE, a New York City-based program which enables teen mothers to continue their education while their children attend a daycare within mom’s school.

Appaman’s coat drive ends Dec. 21. To donate, send or drop-off your gently used coat at: Appaman Inc., 195 Chrystie St., Suite 404, New York, N.Y., 10002.

Amanda Peet Expecting Second Child

Anita Bugge/WireImage

There is much to be thankful for this holiday season for Amanda Peet and her husband of three years, screenwriter David Benioff!

A rep for the 2012 actress confirms to PEOPLE that she’s pregnant with the couple’s second child. Further information, including a due date, was not provided.

Baby-on-the-way will join 2 ½-year-old big sister Frances ‘Frankie’ Pen, who was born in February 2007.

So, will there be any more additions to the family after this? Not if Amanda can help it.

“I think we want more,” the actress, 37, told PEOPLE shortly after Frankie’s birth. David, she says, “wants three, but I’m old, I’m an old lady. Two is enough.”
