For Diddy at 40, It's All About His Twin Daughters

Roger Walsh/Landov

Though he’s dealing with that fact he’s just turned 40, proud papa Diddy has an even bigger issue on his plate: keeping up with his twin girls (with ex Kim Porter), D’Lila Star and Jessie James, who turn 3 on Monday.

“They’re talking a lot more and they’re very demanding,” says the Grammy-winning hip-hop star and entrepreneur. As for what they demand from their dad: “Just time,” he says. “‘Sit down. Don’t go anywhere, stay here, do this.’ They give me a lot of orders.”

And despite his demanding schedule – in addition to managing his business empire, Diddy is working on a new album, Last Train to Paris, and continuing to promote Ciroc vodka – he says his girls can always persuade him to take a break.

“When they tell me to sit down,” he says, “everything else gets put to the back burner.”

As for hitting the milestone, “It was a shock for me, because my spirit and my energy are so young,” he says. “I feel the same way I felt when I was 25.”

So after just two days of being “hung up” on turning the big 4-0, “I think my clock is going backwards,” he says. “I think I’m 39 ½ now.”

Jillian Barberie Reynolds Celebrates Her Baby Shower!

Courtesy Life & Style for use on CBB

Dressed in a nonmaternity Marchesa gown, Good Day LA host Jillian Barberie Reynolds celebrated the upcoming birth of her son, Rocco, with a lavish baby shower at the Montage Beverly Hills on Saturday, December 12th.

“It’s been completely different this time around,” Jillian, who has a 2-year-old daughter, Ruby Raven, with husband Grant, tells Life & Style. “I was a huge whale, but now I’m just a dolphin. I’m not as rotund!”

Guests including Sharon Osbourne and Kourtney Kardashian (who gave birth just two days later!) noshed on tea sandwiches and scones and sipped signature cocktails like the Jilliantini and Rocco Royal.

The room was decked out with beautiful white roses, tulips, hydrangeas and freesias by floral design studio Mark’s Garden.

After lunch, the group indulged in a vanilla butter-cream custom cake by Cake Divas by Joan & Leigh — Jillian’s favorite! Guests left with a LeSportsac silver tote filled with gifts valued at about $500.

“We’re probably done after this,” says Jillian, “although we thought we’d probably be done after Ruby and, boom, I got pregnant with Rocco. So who knows.”

Jillian, 42, is due with Rocco at the end of January.

Nicole Sullivan Says Dashel 'Mocks' and 'Mimics'

Jesse Grant/WireImage

Even the best laid plans have been known to go awry, and Nicole Sullivan says that’s exactly what happened when it came to naming her second son, 3 ½-month-old Beckett Edward.

“When you come up with your kids’ names, it’s hard because this is forever, they’re going to have this name,” she noted during a recent appearance on The Bonnie Hunt Show. “You think of the worse-case scenario nicknames…we’ve all known a Regina in our life, or Richard, you know what I’m saying, right?”

When the 39-year-old Rita Rocks actress and her husband Jason Packham decided on Beckett, they believed they were in the clear — but their first son, 2 ½-year-old Dashel Pierce, quickly poked a hole in their theory!

“We thought, Beckett, that’s a classy name! My son comes home, and Dash — first thing — goes, ‘Heeeeey, Becky!’ Argh. I didn’t think, that’s a girl’s name!”

From the sound of things, Dash is keeping the couple on their toes in more ways than one. “He mocks me, I feel like,” Nicole admits. “I don’t even know what he’s doing. He goes, ‘Really Mom? Really?’” Like most children his age, Dash is also quick to imitate what he sees — the good and the bad. “The other day he told my husband, ‘Don’t freak out, Jason,’” Nicole recalls. “And [my husband's] like, ‘I wonder where he heard that?’” She adds,

“I don’t like hearing myself through that mimic. It’s fun because they’ll try anything … they just want to get their way. So they’ll try anything to get that cupcake or to get to watch that cartoon, try any angle.”

With two children and seven animals in the home, Nicole says that her Christmas tree is up — but just partially decorated. “There’s only ornaments from the top half up,” she explains. “In my sleep I hear ornaments breaking.”

The boys “love it so much,” however, and like to blame their exploits on their furry friends!

“I watched my son take an ornament and throw it on the ground — I watched him break it. I pretended I didn’t, came back in and said, ‘What happened?’ and he threw that dog under the bus so fast. In a second, he didn’t even think twice! He goes [to the dog], ‘Bad Donut, bad!’”

Chris Robinson Inspired By Ryder's Band Name

Freddie Baez/Startraks

Time spent with his children — son Ryder Russell, 5 ½, and a baby girl due in January — is all about quality, not quantity for Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson.

While logging long hours on tour with his band may have him away from his family for extended periods, the rocker makes it clear that his schedule makes him no less of a father.

“It’s tough being away from your kids,” he admits. “So the one thing I want to instill in my children is, ‘My dad wasn’t away just screwing around, my dad was completely committed, because music is important!’”

And, so far, it seems as if Chris’ dedication to the industry is rubbing off on Ryder, who is able to sing on perfect pitch.

“He told me his band name the other day, which, I have to say, is one of the coolest names I’ve ever heard,” the proud papa laughs.

“He said, ‘Dad, I’m going to start a band. They’re called Black Tusk.’ And I was like, ‘Far out! I might just take that from ya for one of my projects!’”

Baby-on-the-way is Chris’ first with girlfriend Allison Bridges, while Ryder is his only child with ex-wife Kate Hudson.
