Alyson Hannigan 'So Fascinated' by Satyana

Gaz Shirley/Pacific Coast News

At just 9-months-old, Satyana Marie Denisof has already developed quite the sense of humor! So says her mom, actress Alyson Hannigan, in a new interview with Working Mother.

“She plays jokes on me when I try to put her to bed,” the 35-year-old How I Met Your Mother star reveals. “This one time, I told her that ‘it’s time for bed’ and she has to go to sleep. She put her head down when I said the word ‘sleep’ and as soon as I got to the door, she would prop herself up and start laughing. She did this at least 12 times.”

Taking time to savor such moments is something Alyson says she’s careful to do, noting that “there’s so much that happens the first year.” She adds,

“I could watch her all day long, just to see her discovering new things…I’m so fascinated by her.”

To that end, Alyson says her favorite moments of the day are those spent quietly with Satyana, “just sitting back, slowing down and going into her zone.”

“The most joy is when I can just be on the floor with her and watch her play with one of her toys, or discover how to put her toes in her mouth — something very baby-like.”

Keisha Whitaker's Holiday Tea Party

Jessica Herndon for PEOPLE for use on CBB

On the night of a movie premiere, Oscar-winning actor Forest Whitaker gets all the attention.

But every year his wife, Keisha, 37, throws a Christmas tea where their three daughters — Autumn, 17, Sonnet, 13, and True, 11 — are the guests of honor.

“Teatime is like a special occasion,” says Keisha, an Oprah.com writer who got the idea after celebrating Autumn’s fifth birthday at an L.A. hotel that hosted a teddy bear tea party.

Instead of going to hotels each year, Keisha decided to bring the fun home and throw a holiday tea party for her girls, who still enjoy the tradition, even if they’re past the days of plush toys.

“It’s something they look forward to,” she says. Plus, “it gives you an occasion to dress up and spend time with each other.”

Nia Vardalos Teaches Daughter Greek – in the Kitchen

ABC

It’s always stressful to whip up a holiday feast, but Nia Vardalos has an extra-special helper in the kitchen this year — her 4-year-old daughter.

“She’s my sous chef,” the My Big Fat Greek Wedding star told PEOPLE at the taping of the 11th Annual Home for the Holidays. “I give her a plastic knife and just get her to chop things up. [For] Christmas, I suddenly have a young helper in the kitchen!”

Since announcing late last year that she and husband Ian Gomez had adopted a preschooler, Nia has started passing on her Greek heritage using her favorite holiday recipes.

“She makes something called salt-and-pepper soup,” Nia explained while backstage at the holiday concert presented by Wendy’s Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. “I just give her every ingredient in the house and say it in English and in Greek, and she stirs it up!”

The new mom has also found herself in some seriously sticky situations over the last year.

“Becoming a mom to me means you have accepted that for the next 16 years of your life, you will have a sticky purse,” she says. “[Mine] is always filled with stuff I didn’t put there, from leftover Tootsie Rolls to wet wipes that got squished to the bottom. It makes me laugh every day.”

Home for the Holidays, featuring performances by Faith Hill, Mary J. Blige, Reba McEntire, Shakira, Carrie Underwood and Michael Franti, airs Wednesday on CBS.

Cam and Everleigh Gigandet Walk It Off

Monroe Most Wanted Pictures

After grabbing lunch at the West Hollywood hot spot Toast on Thursday, actor Cam Gigandet and his daughter Everleigh Ray took a leisurely stroll with mom Dominique Geisendorff (not pictured).

The Twilight actor — cradling his 8-month-old in one arm — was a man on a mission, armed with a long to-do list in the other hand!

It seems like she is completely content to be in her daddy’s arms. We’ve seen the father-daughter duo out and about before with the 27-year-old always toting a happy (or sleepy!) baby girl!

Everleigh wears Trumpette’s Metallic Mary Jane Socks ($32 for six pairs).
