Meet Mason Dash Disick!

Meet Mason Dash Disick! Reality stars Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick introduce their 2-week-old baby boy in the latest issue of Life & Style, on newsstands now.

Courtesy Life & Style

Congrats! How does it feel to be parents?

Kourtney: It feels amazing. It’s just so indescribable. You don’t get how good being a parent feels until it happens to you.

Scott: My first time holding him was definitely special. But holding him the second time was even more special, and the third time was even more special than that. I fall so much more in love with this kid every day. I can’t imagine how much more in love with him I’m going to be by the time he’s 5 or 10 or 20!

How was the labor itself?

K: It was surprisingly easy and just an incredible experience. I always thought your first is supposed to be really hard, but it was easy. I have an amazing doctor. He actually delivered me!

The room environment was just so relaxing, and everyone I wanted to be there was there—Scott, my mom, Kim and Khloé. No one under 18 is allowed in, so my little sisters Kendall and Kylie couldn’t come in. Actually, you’re only allowed to have two people in the room because of the swine flu — so we snuck Kim and Khloé in!

How did you choose his name?

K: The first time I started looking at baby names, Mason was the only one I liked. It was the only one that stuck with me. Right before he was born, I told my aunt we were thinking about going with that for a name. She told me that Mason means the same thing in English that Kardashian means in Armenian — stone worker. Another aunt told me my great uncle used to use the name Mason when he made dinner reservations, because Kardashian was too long. When I heard that, I thought, Oh my god, it’s meant to be.

Dash is not for my clothing store, as some people have suggested online. That would be stupid. Dash is short for Kardashian, and it was my father’s nickname.

We call him Mase and Baby Mason. And then all of the cutesy names: Gorgeous, Precious, Munchkin, Angel.

What is your daily routine like now?

K: We’re on Mason’s schedule, waking up every couple of hours to breastfeed. But it’s fun to get up and see him. I miss him by the time I see him again.

Can you see having another baby in the future?

K: Right now I’m obsessed with Mason and want to give him all my time. But being with him has definitely made me think about having another one! Kim and I are 18 months apart. Growing up, we did everything together. It would be nice for Mason to have a little brother or sister that many months apart too.

Love his name! And that family photo.

Oh, and I hope my first birth goes as well as hers did! She actually used the word “easy!” Nice!

Blue on

What an absolutely gorgeous baby!!! The family picture of the three of them is very sweet. They are almost too pretty :-)

Jessicad on

He really is a gorgeous baby! She sounds really happy and like she’s settling into being a mommy with ease. Congrats to them!

ericka on

Mason actually looks alot like Robert JR…her brother. That Kardashian blood runs hard in their genes.

Congrats

Tatyana on

Congratulations to Kourt & Scott. I love what Scott said, he sounds very in love with his son.

FC on

Mason is adorable! Love that shot of him sleeping on the bed in between Kourtney and Scott.

Liliana on

What a sweetie!

Ericka, I agree. He definitely takes after the Kardashians. I think he bares a resemblence to his late grandfather. Such a great way to see his memory continue.

JMO on

He’s very cute. I wish them the best with their little boy!

My cousin is due to have a scheduled C-section in a few weeks and she is devastated that her 5 year old will not be allowed to visit (of course she understands) but it’s hard on a mom to not get to experience it with their other child for a few days (she’s having mommy guilt already) :(

Ashlyn on

Very cute. I have no idea why you would ask a woman with a 2 week old about having more kids. I mean, let her enjoy the one she JUST had for a few minutes!

shirese on

Adorable!

mrsh on

How wonderful! They seem so very happy. Kourtney seems so much more grounded now, and Scott seems to have really stepped up. Good for them! I’m glad she had an easy labor. That’s always a good thing to hear. Mine wasn’t exactly “easy” but it sure was fast!

CD on

Such a beautiful baby boy….

Kristin on

Mason looks just like the late Robert Kardashian. Anyone agree? Those must be really strong genes. He also looks like he has the Armenian coloring like his mom, aunts, and uncles. Kris must be thrilled to be a grandma! Does Scott tan or something? That does not look his natural skin color.

Amy in Oregon on

Ericka and Liliana, I also agree, the FIRST person I thought of when I saw him was Kourtney’s brother Robert! Mason is SO cute though, I love this family, they are my favorite! I hope they will chronicle a little more of Kourtney and Scott on the show this season!

Angela on

Kristin,
I thought the same thing myself, that baby looks just like Robert Kardashian did!
Kourtney and her sisters are no doubt missing their dad during this special time.
I am sure Kris is over the moon thrilled. Anyone else remember the episode when the kids got her a baby monkey in order to reminder how much work babies are?

Micheley on

He is so adorable. To me it looks like he favors his mom in looks, but Its a little hard to tell. I think Scott is very handsome, but I do hope he favors his mother. :)

And once again, I love the name Mason Dash, so cute.

Carly on

He looks like Rob K. but has Scott’s chin or something. Definitely has some Disick in there (from what I can see!)

He’s beautiful!

pia on

what a very cute looing pair of feet he has. aw

LucyMarie on

Does anyone know how the last name is prounounced? I do not and I wonder if it is like Mason Dixon line? Mason Disick? Thanks!
He is a cutie no matter what though–Christmas time babies are the best–mine was 12-30 :)

marlee on

Mason is a cutie! I bet it’s hard to pry him out of Grandma Kris’ hands – she must be over the moon.

luciana on

he def favors his mom a lot and the kardashian side. he has their complexion and nose. Kourtney looks awesome for having a baby, she resembles kim a lot. It’s nice that her sisters and mom were in the delivery room, I love how close this family is.

Blue on

Aaw! He’s so cute – I see a lot of Kardashian in him.

(And does anyone else think he looks a little bit like Levi McConaughey in the first photo?)

Simone on

What a cute little boy!!She looks very good and iam glad to hear she nurses thats always a plus for baby and mom!!!

melissa on

He is soo adorable! Congrats to them, they seem so happy!

ern on

he looks like a kardashian!

SH on

i’m not saying she’s not naturally pretty or anything…but people, it’s a magazine and it’s called photoshop. that’s why they all look flawless.

txgal on

Cute kid but I give the parents relationship another 15 minutes.

Erika on

He is adorable!

My local hospital is age 18 now too but nobody cares. One of my friends was in there recently for a minor surgery and some of her cousins are under 18 and we snuck them in. It didn’t make a difference since she was coming home that night anyway. The age 18 rule is stupid anyway, since adults carry germs too- I know several adults who have had swine flu lol.

Sabrina on

mason is a cutie and the family portrait is gorgeous! :)

Anna on

I do not understand the under 18 not allowed rule. It’s not like that where I live.

The baby looks cute. I wish they had used airbrushing and photoshop though.

Sophia on

I love what Scott said about falling more and more in love with little Mason. It’s so sweet :)
Baby Mason Dash is so precious and his parents seem really happy and involved. Gorgeous family.

Kat on

He is so precious!! He’s all Kardashian… He looks so much like his mom, who is the one who looked most like their dad, Robert Kardashian. I really think the baby is the spitting image of him… what a beautiful baby. He is going to be SOO spoiled by his grandparents, Kris and Bruce, and I’m sure by Scott’s family, too… being the first grandbaby, and also by Kendall and Kylie, who will probably treat him how the older kids treated them when they were little.

megan on

“The age 18 rule is stupid anyway, since adults carry germs too- I know several adults who have had swine flu lol”

I assume part of it is to give other patients peace & quiet. Nothing is more annoying than being sick in a hospital & having another patient’s noisy, rambunctious kids running around.

Amy on

The baby is beautiful no doubt. What is it with Scott though? He always looks so aloof…like that’s the best smile he can muster for the cover of a magazine? I really don’t think Kourtney and Scott are going to last. Luckily, this baby will no be surrounded by love no matter what happens.

Sobi on

Ericka, ITA. In fact, I just showed my husband and said, “Oh, he’s a Kardashian…he looks just like Rob!” [Kourtney's brother] What a beautiful little boy. Congrats to Kourtney and family!

Jane on

He’s a beautiful baby.

g!na on

The baby is cute! he has the armenian feature in his skin tone and nose structure but his hair is light like dads. I wonder what color eyes he has? Kourtney was very dark as a kid. I saw pics of her and she definitely had daddy’s armenian features. ;)

Micheley on

Megan- I complete agree that noice is a factor, but from my hospital experiences its not the kids who make the much noice its the adults. lol

Tracie on

I think its rude that the magazine headline says ‘The Kardashian Baby’, when Mason’s surname is Disick. Although I’m not a big fan of Scott, it does appear to me that the magazine is trying to edge him out of the proceedings somewhat. Very cute baby though!

Tess on

“The age 18 rule is stupid anyway, since adults carry germs too- I know several adults who have had swine flu lol”

The age 18 rule is because more people under the age of 18 are getting swine flu. There are patients in the hospital who are so weak it could kill them. Why sneak someone in if your coming home soon anyway? How inconsiderate to other patients that are sick.

Oh the baby is beyond cute.

Jen DC on

I know it’s probably perspective, but Mason’s feet look GINORMOUS! But he’s a beautiful baby and look to be all Kardashian to me.

Anna on

Amy – comment 46 – I thought that too for half a sec about Scott and then thought about myself… I how my smile looks and it is very rare for me to actually smile naturally or big in photo… maybe something similar is going on with him.

sarawara on

I really, really hope Scott steps up to the plate. It seems like he lives off of the Kardashians. What exactly does he DO for a living? Mason is such a blessing, and I know Bruce and Kris and all the other Jenner/Kardasians are elated!

Erika on

Megan- I’m sure you’re right, and believe me, I don’t think that there should be 2-4 year olds running around. But the rule in my hospital used to be 12 or 14, so those kids are too old to be running around, plus it doesn’t stop the spread of germs that much imo.

mermaids614 on

Awww, Mason looks like his Uncle Rob! Cute! Those Armenian genes must be pretty strong! LOL

fuzibuni on

i understand why hospitals limit the number of visitors.
they don’t need the extra foot traffic.
it brings in germs, noise, and liability.
as soon as you step foot into a hospital, they become potentially liable if anything happens while you are there.
so while you may want to bring kids to see your new baby,it’s really not a good idea to sneak into a hospital.

JMO on

Well not only is it not good to sneak people in it’s not good for the young kids to be in a hospital full of germs. They’re trying to not only protect patients in the hospital but protect the one’s not in the hospital. My cousin is upset but she fully understands (even though both her and her daughter were vaccinated against swine flu). The hospital said they hope to lift the ban in April when cold/flu season dies down. Not only that but she wasn’t allowed to bring her duaghter to the ultrasound either. I guess had she they still would of done it but they asked her not to. They just don’t want to risk germy kids around pregnant patients.

Sarah on

I don’t get why anyone would want their sisters and mother in the room….unless they see you naked from the waste down on a regular basis and you’ve don’t have privacy rules.

He is a cute baby!

Jessi on

now that i look at him again he does look like his uncle rob….

Carey on

What a handsome little boy!!! I think he’s a good mix of both Mom and Dad. @Blue, I agree, he does remind of Levi. That first picture with the three of them together is beautiful, definitly something she might want to frame. Before, I didn’t really know what I thought about Scott, but after what he said about little Mason, I think he sounds like he’s going to a very good, loving daddy. Lucky little guy. I like his name and how it ties in with Kardashian. Very clever, and it’s also a really nice name. It suits him well.

Rebecca on

Megan, maternity wards in nearly every hospital I’ve been in are in different areas from where they keep sick patients (different wings/floors/entances/buildings). It’s not like little Timmy is going to run down the hall and trip on Mrs Johanson’s chemo machine cord.

I think the ban on children visiting is ridiculous. Wash their hands, and if they’re not visibly sick or showing symptoms, I say let them see the baby.

CelebBabyLover on

Sarah- Nowhere was it mentioned that Kourtney’s mom and sister were down at the “businsess end” of things. They may have been standing near Kourtney’s head, for example. :) Anyway, different people have different comfort levels. I even know of a woman who was in the delivery room when her sister-in-law gave birth (and it was completely the sister-in-law and brother’s idea!)! :)

CelebBabyLover on

Oh, and Mason is a cutie and I love this interview. I never exactly disliked Kourtney, but I do have to admit that she sounded a bit childish and naive during her pregnancy. It seems that Mason has already helped her grow up quite a bit! :) I also love the fact that Kourtney is breastfeeding. Both she and Kendra said in a joint interview while they were still pregnant that they were going to, but it dosesn’t appear to have worked out for Kendra. Glad that it did work out for Kourtney. :)

m-dot on

Nice photo. Kourt looks amazing, and the baby is heavy on the Kardashian genes so far!

Mia on

The little guy is cute. I thought he would look a lot like his mom, and he does-he looks so much like Robert Kardashian Sr. Very cool :) Congrats to the whole family!

Lily on

He looks like both of them. I like how she honored her Dad wth his middle name.

JessicaC on

I had my daughter on chrsitmas eve last year, and my one year old was not permitted in the maternity ward, so i couldnt see him for christmas let alone the 5 days i was in the hospital. They said they didnt allow children under 12 because of the riskes of RSV. So the swine flu wasn’t even an issue last year, it was a major bummer not to get to see my son on chrsitmas! Mason is gorgeous, lay off Scott, would you want someone commenting on your significant other? maybe he’s going to be a stay at home dad and there’s nothing wrong with that, its their business…

Lady on

Mason definitely looks like Robert SR & JR…what a resembelence, I hope he keeps those features! What a beautiful little guy, Kourtney looks great!

And what do ya know, no c-section to all you bashers out there, imagine that!!

sarawara on

Good point @Lady. It’s nice to see a celeb who doesn’t have an “emergency c-section” 2 weeks before their due date. *wink wink* I love how no one says c-section any more without saying “emergency.” Whatever.

Mina on

Mason is totally a Kardashian! I love the strong family meanings in his names. I didnt think Dash was for the store when I read it, I assumed it would be a nickname for the family’s last name.

Whitney on

he look likes Robert Kardashian – which is who both Rob and Kourtney look like…..

zetta69 on

Mason is a very attracive little boy but I can’t tell who he looks like.Looking at the Kardashians I thought both of Kourtney’s parents were of Armenian descent. What is Kris’ ethnic background?

QT on

The baby looks like her side of the family. I like the name Dash.

sarawara stop acting like you know what goes on during other women’s pregnancies. There are legit reasons for having a emergency & planned c-section, so get over the hate!

CelebBabyLover on

QT- Couldn’t agree more! I also want to point out that it IS actually possible to require an emergancy C-section two weeks, or even more, before your due date. Placental abrution, fetal distress, preeclampsia, and HELLP syndrome (like Trista Sutter had with Max) are just a few of the reasons an early delivery via emergancy C-section can be required!

Kimmie on

He looks soooo much like Rob senior and junior!!

Luna on

What a cutie Mason is and i love his name too. Sarawara: i know you probably did not mean to offend anyone by your comment, but emergency C-sections are very necessary sometimes. My sister was born via emergency c section because the doctors could not find her heartbeat and my son was born via emergency c section because he was not getting oxygen. Please, no bashing on the C-section, it has helped so many people.

Catca on

Actually, some of the most vulnerable patients in the hospital to swine flu are pregnant women. Virtually every hospital in the country has this rule right now because carriers are primarily under the age of 18. In fact, I could not even tour the delivery and labor section of my hospital because of swine flu concerns and I am due to give birth in a few weeks. I’ll just have to wing it when I get there. It is the hospital’s responsibility to protect patients, regardless of whether you think the rules are ridiculous or not. Other than the mother and father, no one is “entitled” to be there and the hospital can make rules as it sees fit to protect all of its patients. Kourtney’s younger sisters were able to see their new nephew soon enough.

kel on

I think that all of the people who think the hospital guidelines are silly are very selfish. If you want to take chances with yourself and your children, that is your business. You have no idea who you could pass that has a failing immune system. Maybe a simple handwash & you are good to go, but that is because you have been blessed to be healthy! Pretty bad example to show your children imo. No respect for the one place where some people are fighting for their lives and others are beginning theirs…shame on you people.

Ateya on

I love them! And I agree…he looks like his dad…

Chloe on

Gorgeous pictures, and I think Kourtney is beautiful in that top picture. Definitely glowing with her new mummy-hood :)

New Zealand on

Did she have a natural birth??? Easy??? from what ive heard and witnessed its hard and horrible?

Carli on

Seriously, some of you think the hospital’s visitation policies are stupid?? While many hospitals sometimes go WAY out of the way to be courteous and and pleasant to visitors, their main responsibility is to make the PATIENT comfortable and do what they can to make them better. Hospital ADULT staff wash their hands more times in a day than some people do in a week and many of them got their vaccinations. And adult visitors are more aware and understanding of hand-washing and the spread of germs. The swine flu was declared a national emergency, so if hospital administrations decide that children under the age of 18 aren’t allowed to visit family members/friends, then DEAL with it. Maternity units aren’t the only units in a hospital-there are many extremely sick patients whose immune systems (including the brand-spanking new immune system of a newborn) are very weak. You might know that your own young child is clean and healthy, but if people keep breaking the rules then someone whose child may not be very healthy could infect you or a loved one who is sick, or has just given birth. If you don’t like a hospital’s rules, then choose a new one.

sat on

New Zealand, each birth is different, it’s a universal experience yet each person has a different perception of how easy/hard/painful/better or worse than expected, etc…all natural births can be more painful b/c no epidurals are used. Or epidural births can be worse because they can slow down labor…it’s totally subjective.

BornFabulousBoutique on

What a beautiful baby! Congrats to you Kourtney!
