Star-Worthy Find: Tyke Rider Early Rider Bikes

Tyke Rider

Learning to ride a bike is a childhood rite of passage — especially in sunny L.A. where Tori Spelling and Minnie Driver‘s little ones ride around on Tyke Rider‘s Early Rider bikes ($150 to $200). Unlike traditional tricycles, these wooden and pedal-less bikes help kids — as young as 20 months-old — really master balance, which is key to building confidence for later riding.

Already hugely popular in Europe, they’re now available stateside. And, the company’s offering an exclusive 15% off discount to all CBB readers. Just enter code “tykerider” at checkout. And don’t forget to buy one of their super cute helmets. We love the polka dot style ($45, left).

Bought a bike just like that at Target last year for $12 I think $200 is a little ridiculous…

like-a-bikes are over $300. that seems crazy to me. sub 200 isn’t bad if its good quality and we can pass it down. and the cute factor. it could double as a wall hanging ;-)

Interesting concept. I would be interested to know if it really works at helping children with their balance and how it improves how they learn to ride a bike.

Just FYI if you’re searching for one of these, they’re really just called “Early Rider”, the brand the bike everything. If you enter Tyke Rider, Google will only give you a limited list of stockists. Enter “Early Rider” and you’ll be able to find one anywhere in the world!!
BTW, they’re worth every penny and are entirely different to the ones at discount stores.
