Tisha Campbell-Martin Says Xen 'Loves Being a Big Brother'

Making true on her promise to fully incorporate her first-born Xen in the process of welcoming a second son into the family, Tisha Campbell-Martin reveals he had the honor of choosing baby boy’s name!

Initially worried as the 8-year-old was strictly inspired by cartoon characters, Tisha couldn’t be happier with his final choice: Ezekiel Czar. “He said, ‘Zeke’ without hesitating,” she tells Us Weekly.

And since choosing his baby brother’s name, the sibling love has been nothing but strong between the pair. “He loves being a big brother,” the proud mama raves of her “considerate” son.

“He’ll say, ‘Mom, after you’re done handling the baby, can we all snuggle together?’”

Having truly looked forward to a second turn at motherhood, Tisha is rejoicing in each milestone with her 3-month-0ld. “Every little thing is a miracle,” she admits. “He just started smiling.”

While she may be busy with her responsibilities as a mother of two boys, the Rita Rocks actress is making her body after baby a priority. “I work out every day. I like boxing and spinning,” she says. Her goal?

“I just want to get back down to 130. Breastfeeding helps!”

Xen and Zeke are Tisha’s children with husband Duane Martin.

i know some people find it incredulous that some parents allow their children to name their siblings but xen & zeke actually go very well together.

i assume xen chose zeke then tisha and duane took it from there fluffing it out to ezekiel czar although i don’t think i could use the name ‘czar’ myself reminds me too much of russia & rasputin etc lol

glad to know the family are all bonded, happy, healthy and doing well.

that’s sweet, I’im sure they would have vetoed anything ridiculous, maybe they even put some ideas in his head. The name is nice, though Czar is a bit much. It now reminds me of Obama and all of his czars actually.

ritter, you keep on using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Congrats to the family!

K, what word?

My friend is having another baby and her 7 year old was not impressed at the beginning at the thought of a new baby coming into the picture! They included their daughter in the name choosing process and ended up going with the name which she had suggested – Jasmine (no doubt after the character from her favourite movie Aladdin!).

The whole process has definitely made the older girl feel better about the situation, that she is involved and part of the whole thing. She now talks to Jasmine (rather than ‘the baby’) and is helping her mum pick out baby things.

ritter i think k means your use of the word “czar”.

JM, that’s what I figured, but I didn’t really get it. I didn’t make the term up or anything.

Czar, or Tsar, means “supreme ruler.” It’s a derivative of “Ceasar” from the Roman empire and it usually has a bit of a totalitarian connotation to it. Probably wouldn’t pick it as a name for my baby… but to each his own.

I’m more impressed that an 8 year old would pick out the name Ezekiel all on his own. Put that kid in an advanced writing class stat.

ritter- No one ever said you did. I think K just meant that you may mis-understand the meaning of the word Czar. :)

Ms. Campbell-Martin brings her son to the same Pediatrician’s office that I do and her son Xen is one of the sweetest, most beautiful children. Ms. Campbell-Martin seems like such a great Mom. Here interaction with her son was really loving to watch.
Congratulations to the family. Great name choice!

I like both of the boys names! I thought I had heard that Xen is autistic. I would guess that he would be high-functioning, then, if he is? (Not that it matters, just curious.)
