His days of singing solo to his baby girl are long gone; Matthew Settle and Aven Angelica now share father-daughter duets! “I just bought her a piano,” he tells OK! “I play guitar and she sits at the piano and bangs on it. That’s pretty fun.”

And when the 9-month-old isn’t busy making music with her dad, she can be found testing out her legs around the family’s home. Having mastered crawling, Aven is gearing up to take her first steps.

“When she does things like pull herself up to stand, she looks at us for approval and smiles, like, ‘Look at me, I’m standing,’” the proud papa raves.

Proving to be a daddy’s little girl, the Gossip Girl actor admits Aven is talking — mostly “‘yah, yah, yah’” — and already pulling at his heartstrings! “She says, ‘Dada,’” he shares, “but she doesn’t know what it means.” However, the 40-year-old is determined to not leave wife Naama Nativ out of the fun.

“I’m trying to get her to say ‘Mama’ because it’s not fair if she just says ‘Dada.’”

Full swing into the holiday season, Matthew reveals that the family opt to celebrate both Hanukkah and Christmas. “Her mother’s doing the menorah,” he explains. “They like Christmas, so we’ll do Christmas as well, and trees are pretty — they smell nice. I guess we’ll get a real tree for her.”

Despite being first-time parents, Matthew — who is “looking forward to watching her try to open a gift” — and Naama aren’t naive of what to expect come present time!

“I know at this age, they just want to eat the box.”
