Second season Dancing With the Stars champ Drew Lachey and wife Lea are expecting their second child, a boy, this spring, brother Nick Lachey reveals.

β€œI get to be an uncle all over again,” Nick said on The Bonnie Hunt Show on Monday — news that was later confirmed by Drew’s rep.

Drew and Lea, both 33, had 3 Β½-year-old daughter Isabella Claire in March 2006, the same year the former 98 Degrees crooner won Dancing With the Stars with professional partner Cheryl Burke.

Aw. Congratulations to Drew, Lea, big sis Isabella, and handsome Uncle Nick. But the little boy is going to be so cute.

Well. That’s two “Dancing” champs with babies on the way next year (Helio and Drew). Bet there’s going to be a third.

Congratulations to Drew and his wife. Maybe they’ll have a boy this time around. I wonder why they waited so long? Their daughter will be four when her little brother/sister is born. πŸ˜‰

Oops I didn’t realize Drew and his wife knew what they were expecting. A boy balances things out. πŸ˜›

That’s awesome! I used to be such a fan of 98 Degrees and the Lachey Boys!

To answer the question about why they waited so long, I heard just as she got pregnant with Isabella that they had a lot of trouble conceiving so maybe that’s why it took so long? don’t take that as fact though.

I don’t really think 3-4 years is a long way apart. My 3 girls are spaced that way on purpose. You get one out of diapers and in preschool a few days a week and welcome a new one. It’s worked out perfectly for us!

Congrats to Drew and Lea. I remember thinking she was going to pop at any second when Drew was on DWTS.

I really hate when people make comments like “I wonder what took them so long!” People don’t think of all the possibilites as to why there is a 3 year, 4 year, or even larger gap between children. Perhaps Lea had trouble conceiving, or experienced one or more miscarriages. I have a 3 1/2 year old daugther. I had a son in March, and he passed away when he was 2 days old. I can’t explain how difficult it is when strangers make comments like “Hey, you better get working on a brother or sister for her!” and things like that. They have no idea and I certainly am not going to explain, and while I know they don’t know my personal history, it still stings to hear those comments. Please consider all the possibilities before you question things like this.

Anne, ITA. So sorry to hear of the loss of your son. We have a 3 year, 4mth gap. Had a miscarriage at 8 1/2 weeks along, hence the bigger age gap. Was sad at the time of course, but it’s worked out ok too having the bigger gap, one off to school, and one-on-one time with the almost 2-year old, her activities etc, big brother toilet trained, more independent etc. We always wanted a 2 1/2 – 3 gap anyhow but it’s diff for everyone. Nobody knows why; it’s their personal business. Just good news that they have another one of the way and hoping it all goes well!

Anne- I totally agree! My older sibling and I are three years apart, and it’s mostly because of two of the things you mentioned. Our parents had difficulty concieving my older sibling, and then about two years later our mother suffered a miscarriage.

Also, sometimes people actually *gasp* PLAN that much of an age gap between their kids. My father and his siblings are all about three years apart, and I have trouble believing that it was just due to coincedence! πŸ™‚

So I couldn’t agree more that it’s not right to judge someone for having a three year or more age gap between siblings.

Congrats to the family!!!

CelebBabyLover – same with me and my sisters! My older sister is a little over 3 years older and my younger one is 5 1/2 years behind me. The gaps in between are because my mom had three miscarriages. My daughter and son would have been three years apart, which to me was perfect, having two babies, two in diapers, etc., would have been difficult! After we lost Aidan, and I knew I was going to need time before I could imagine having another child, I worried about the age gap there would be between our children. But then I thought about it and I realized it’s silly – a family is a family, siblings are siblings, and it doesn’t matter. The number of years there are or aren’t between brothers and sisters may make different sibling relationships unique, but they are no less special.

same between my younger brother and I cause My mother had conceievd right after I was born and miscarried at about 10 weeks maybe so she didn’t conceive again until I was two so maybe that’s why Drew and Lea waited between their children congrats to them on their coming little boy
