She’s a model mama!

Linda Evangelista brought her son Augustin James, 3, to Saturday’s Nutcracker Family Benefit, hosted by the New York City Ballet & the School of American Ballet.

The event was held at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center in Manhattan.

aww..looks just like her mama!

- jj on

He’s cute, at first I thought he was a she due to the hair but after I read the article I saw that she was a he….and I can see that he looks like a boy LOL. I hope they enjoyed hte Nutcracker, it’s one of my all time faves! :)

- Mommyof3 on

He looks like his momma! Very cute! (Side note – not a fan of boys with long hair.)

- LD on

Regardless of whether or not you like boys with long hair, that is an ugly haircut.

- Ply on

Oof, was that really the best shot of him? In any case, his coat and scarf are darling. He and Mommy have matching outfits and hair! It is the same color and texture as Linda’s. Wasn’t that haircut referred to as the “Prince Valiant” in the 70′s?

- crimpe on

What a silly hairdo that boy has!

- Jackie on

The cut isn’t super flattering but the child has a gorgeous head of hair!

- Blue on

Yikes…that is one ridiculous hairdo for a little boy–I just do not get the celebrity obsession with long hair on boys. What is the point really? I can just imagine the scenario with my two little boys…Okay guys, stop playing with those trucks, it’s time to shampoo/detangle/blowdry etc. They would just be having NONE of that. My daughter, however, is happy to have me brush and blowdry her hair but perhaps that’s because she actually is a GIRL. Whenever I see little boys with long hair, I think that their mother must be a bit kooky.

- momof3 on

I think long hair is the style now but I’m not sure why they gave him bangs. Regardless, his little outfit is precious and Linda looks great too!

- Court on

That’s a boy?

- Kimberlee Chrisman on

I agree momof3. It’s just bizarre. My future sons will have to have a miliary hair cut lol. But this little boy has a feminine face, so with long hair, he looks like a girl.

- Erika on

Momof3,

We’re Jewish and have a lot of friends who don’t cut a boy’s hair until his third birthday. Is that kooky to you? Sincerely wondering.

- Lily on

Isn’t this the woman who was rumored to have had Henri Pinault’s love child? If so, I would say he bears a striking resemblance to his sister, Valentina — hairstyle and all! :)

- Chicki on

Lily- you’re saying that for religious purposes you don’t cut hair before age 3, but it’s obvious that this boys hair has been cut because he has bangs. I think that’s what she meant is kooky- getting your sons haircut to look feminine. I’m not totally sure that’s what she meant, but I’m sure it wasn’t meant to be offensive.

IMO If you leave the hair as is until the third birthday for religious reasons, that’s one thing, if you purposely give him a feminine haircut, that’s weird.

- Erika on

I probably wouldnt have guessed that was a boy straight away as I think the style isn’t the best and perhaps not the best photo of him. I like long hair on boys, but it has to suit them. Some boys can carry it off and some can’t, same with girls and short hair.
Now Pamela Andersons boys ALWAYS managed to have great hair long.

momof3 are you saying you don’t shampoo your sons hair?
My 4 yr old boy has it in between, it’s not too long but not super short, sorta surf dude, It suits him. He has to either have it buzz cut or longish, cos of his double crown it just sticks up all over the place. As we don’t like the ‘prisioner’ look as i call it (which Im sure suits some boys) he has it a bit longer.

- Danielle on

That little boy looks a lot like salma’s hubby francois and even like valentina. If that’s not his kid, that kid really looks a lot like him.

- luciana on

I was in no way offended, Erika. I was just wondering if it made a difference to momof3 (or anyone else) that some people have boys with long hair for religious reasons. That may very well seem just as kooky or even more so! Just curious about the perception. :)

- Lily on

I was about to comment about how cute SHE was until I read it was a HE!!!

- JMO on

Lily- I didn’t know that not cutting a boys hair until 3 is a Jewish custom but I totally respect that as a tradition and culturally appropriate thing to do. Lots of cultures don’t believe in cutting boys ( or girls) hair and that’s different from the celebrity thing which I see as being a bit…vain? narcissistic? self-serving? Perhaps someone can articulate it better than I can. I just think it’s bizarre that someone would go to the trouble of cultivating a feminine hairdo on a little boy when really little boys don’t care…they just want to be little boys.

Danielle-that made me giggle…yes I shampoo my boys hair but I don’t condition it or have to come out any tangles or blow dry it because they have short (ish) hair. My daughter has shoulder length hair that requires a bit more attention than a quick suds in the bath. BTW-I’m not a fan of the “prisoner” look either and I think surfer dude hair is great–little boys still look like little boys.

- momof3 on

She’s gorgeous and I’m sure he would be a handsome dude if he didn’t have the same haircut as the boy on the Dutchboy Paint can…

- Ween on

Poor little guy! I’m sure other people who know them probably (silently) wonder about his hair, too. It’s actually quite funny, and clearly he’s too young to really know that it’s a strange hairstyle. I’m sure he will be “thanking” mom when he’s older :)

- Xan on

Momof3, just because he has long hair does not mean it needs a lot of work. I have long hair. I just wash and run a brush through it. I assume you do the same for your boys with short hair?

Anyway I do like long hair on boys sometimes, but don’t like this cut.

Lily, not cutting hair for religious reasons only seems more kooky to me (no disrespect, just using your word choice). It’s hair I do not understand what it has to do with pleasing God.

- Anna on

momof3- Well, how do you know that some celebs who keep their sons’ hair long aren’t doing it for religious purposes.

Chicki- Yes, but that rumor was quickly denied. Linda has never said who the father is. And for what it’s worth, I think Levi McConaughey looks a lot more like Valentina than Augustin does (and Levi certainly isn’t related to Valentina!).

Anna- I agree with you about the care of long hair. I have long hair as well, and I do the same as you: Simply wash it and run a brush through it!

- CelebBabyLover on

Some boys do have long hair for religious reasons, but Linda’s son’s hair has obviously been cut. Bangs like that don’t grow naturally.

- Ply on

:) this is hilarious, “not cutting your boys hair for religious reasons is perfectly rational and sensible but any other reasons, oh god no how awful!!” :D how can anyone seriously have that attitude? surely not cutting it for religious reasons is no more rational than any other reason? maybe this is an american thing, but i really don’t get how you can say there is any difference. my boys have relatively long hair. they love it and look adorable and have not once been mistaken for girls. it’s shorter than this little boys hair but still. i just hate the double standards that if anything is done for religious reasons, it somehow aquires a whole new level of rationale…. very odd…

- JM on

I saw this photo. They are beautiful. His hair? Who cares. Shame on you all for trying to impose on them your sense of morals and what is masculine. The best part of us all is that we are both part man and woman. These old stereotypes that the descendants try to place on boys and girls are outdated and simply Victorian. Wake up people this is a new age.
