Cate Blanchett and Dashiell Hop to It

Dashiell John Upton has more than a little spring in his step — maybe because it was his 8th birthday? — while out and about in downtown Manhattan with mom Cate Blanchett and brother Roman Robert, 5 ½, on Wednesday.

Cate, 40, who recently said she “loves raising boys,” is also mom to son Ignatius Martin, 19 months.

The family is currently in New York City while the actress stars in A Streetcar Named Desire.

Now, in these two pics the boys look like their father while in other pics they look like Cate. Guess that’s just normal. It’s nice to see pictures of Cate and her boys. Usually we only see Cate when she’s all dressed up and smiling for the camera on the red carpet. It’s nice to see her just being a Mommy!!

I really wish I could get to NY to see her in “Streetcar.” I bet she’s awesome!!

There are more pics because they are in NY for the next three weeks! The kids are cute and love how she spends so much time with them while juggling her theater performance! She must be exhausted. I saw the play here in DC and it was the most incredible experience to see her performing live because she is fantastic!

Cate is in New York because of the play. And like normal mother she and her children go to ride. The paparazzis like to follow her. I think it’s great that she has a normal life with her beautiful children.

She is amazing! She was performing in Hedda Gabler in Sydney soon after giving birth to Roman. She said in an interview that as soon as the curtain fell between acts she’d run to her dressing room to breastfeed him, hand him back to her Mother/sister then run back for the next act.
