If you have to hire a ‘baby planner’ because you ‘don’t have enough time to get prepared for baby yourself’, you probably shouldn’t be having a baby. Babies and children do require quite a lot of time.

That article about baby planners rubbed me the wrong way. If you are too busy to research and plan for a baby, why on earth are you having one? Don’t the actual things take up WAY more of your time than planning for one? Just saying. I think thats ridiculous.

I think (hope) the baby planners are for nursery decorating and buying stuff. If it’s you first child you may not know how much is practical to buy, and I would think a baby planner would help with that. People probably want everything to be perfect for their baby and don’t know exactly how to achieve it. At least that’s what I took from it. If you have the money to do so, and are still planning to raise your child on your own, then why not?

The information out there about baby products can be overwhelming, so I don’t see anything wrong in getting help if you can afford it. Not all people enjoy shopping and shopping for your first baby is difficult no matter how many people you talk to, because they don’t necessary have the same needs as you do. Just look at the bugaboo stroller debates on this page, or in the comments sections at baby gear internet stores.

I, too, was rubbed the wrong way by the baby planner article. When I had my babies, half the fun was preparing for baby…looking for strollers and clothes and all that. And yes, if you can’t make time to do the research to plan for baby’s arrival, you probably shouldn’t even be having one. I especially feel for the child of the lady in Denver who said that her and her husband had “intense professional jobs” and that they just didn’t have time to do it. Poor child….probably grow up with nannies if the parents can’t even make the time to research strollers…
