Actress Amy Adams and fiancé Darren Le Gallo are expecting their first child together, PEOPLE has learned exclusively.
The couple, who have been been together seven years, met in acting class in 2001 and became engaged in July 2008.
Amy, 35, will next be seen in the romantic comedy Leap Year, which hits theaters on Jan. 8.

Amy’s been with her fiance for 7 years, they’ve been engaged for almost 2 years, and she’s stated before that Darren really wants to have kids and get married.
It’s not like she is rushing into things and having a baby before she and darren are ready.

I agree with Jaquelyn and Kim, especially since Amy’s said she hasn’t had time to do anything about a wedding (which begs the question of whether you want a wedding or a marriage imo, since the latter can be done in a matter of minutes. You can always have a wedding later with more time and planning) and that Darren’s way more ready for marriage and kids than she is.
Regardless, I love love LOVE Amy-she’s easily one of my favorite actresses, and she seems like such a sweet person. So I can’t wait to see her on here. Congrats to her and Darren!

Amy and Darren seem so thrilled to be having a baby, so what if its before marriage? Amy is very busy with her film roles and trying to plan and have a wedding around that is difficult.
Its a lot easier to make a baby then all of that. And besides, maybe they had this all planned… baby before. Its not up to us to judge anyways. If they are happy, that’s all that matters in the end isn’t it?
How about we just wish them well and hope for a safe and easy pregnancy and birth for her and be done with it.
I really hope the baby inherits mom’s gorgeous hair. I am hoping for a little girl, the spitting image of her mom. We’ll see.
