Tom Brady: I Know Baby's Sex – But Gisele Doesn't

Tom Brady knows how to keep a secret! Just ask Gisele Bündchen, whose husband found out the sex of their baby – due this month – even though she’s waiting on a surprise.

“I’m really the only one that knows at this point,” Tom, 32, said in an interview with WEEI Sports Radio on Wednesday. “My dad asked me. I haven’t told him. [Gisele] doesn’t know. It’s a pretty good feeling knowing something that no one else knows.”

Especially, Tom adds, because he’s been able to keep it from Gisele, 29. “She’s a very intelligent woman,” he explains. “I wanted to find out and she didn’t, so she said, ‘Go ahead.’ It will be a surprise for her.”

The Patriots quarterback admits that he’s had to be careful with his pronouns as of late. “I always mix it,” he added. “I don’t think I’ve ever slipped. I’m very conscious when I’m saying it.”

So will their nursery at their luxe Boston condo be blue or pink? “There’s no paint yet!” joked Tom, adding that he hasn’t shared yet whether or not his 2-year-old son Jack, with ex Bridget Moynahan, will have to start sharing his hand-me-downs. “Everything is unisex at this point. Yellow. Light green. There’s lots of this.”

I give him credit. It’s not that I wouldn’t be able to keep the secret, I just think eventually pronouns would get the best of me and I’d slip up.

Well I’m not Tom Brady fan but I’m glad that he has kept his mouth shut about the sex!! It’s got to be hard to not slip up! Kudos to him! But I think there is no way I could ever do that!

I think that’s awesome he’s been able to keep it quiet for so long!! I doubt either my husband or I could keep it in! I am the worst when it comes to surprises. I hate keeping them and I hate not knowing when someone else does. It would be something to try though. My girlfriend is due in March and they have the sex written on a piece of paper in an envelope on their mantle. Her hubby really wants to know and she doesn’t and I suggested what Tom and Gisele have done, but she doesn’t think he could keep it in either! I’m proud of her not looking yet. I don’t think I could resist!

My guess is boy for Tom and Gisele.

Haha. I would never be able for my husband to know the sex and not me! Cute though! I for one love how Gisele treats Jack as one of her own (she has been with him since birth) even though she knows he has his mother Bridget too! Some people complain how Bella and Connor Cruise are never shown like Suri, but Jack is always with them! Hope it stays this way when the baby comes! I would love to see a girl from them but either way it will be gorgeous!

I think it’s a girl too! With my next one I plan on telling everyone it’s a delivery surprise, but I’ll find out and just not tell them, probably not even my husband:) I love seeing the reaction of the family, I always cry watching a baby story or something when they do delivery surprises!

I think that has to be SOOOOOOO hard to keep a secret! Jeeeez! I can’t imagine that! I am guessing they are having a boy and I have a feeling that December is going to be chock full’ Of baby boy births-I am thinking Camilla Alves is having a boy and we know Kourtney Kardashian and Kendra are having boys. My guess is that Mark Whalberg’s wife is the only girl of the month. I don’t know why…just a hunch!

Not a Tom Brady fan at all, he seems way too rigid and strict…. Being a QB for the Patriots keeps him plenty busy, I’m sure. Kudos to him on keeping the secret, should be interesting when this baby is born.

@Pats fan, why would Tom’s father need to be “prepared” for a baby girl? Has he said he doesn’t want a granddaughter or something?

My husband and I seriously considered just him finding out the sex for our baby. He was living across the country for work and I was going to move to join him after the baby was born. My husband really wanted to know the sex and tried to convince me to let him know by promising to get the nursery all set up ahead of time. In the end though, I decided I didn’t trust him not to slip up, so we both found out after our son was born

When my mum was pregnant with me (born 1981) she was considered a much older mother (at 33) so she had to have a lot of tests done as she was told it was a high risk pregnancy due to her age! Anyway they accidently told her what sex I was, she never told my dad even though after 3 boys themselves (never finding out their sex) I was the first girl in my dads family for a number of generations. I KNOW that I would never be able to keep a secret like that, I would slip up after 5 minutes!!

I feel like they’re missing out on sharing the experience together. We didn’t find out for any of ours and I loved dreaming about and trying to guess the genders with my husband during my pregnancies. It would have felt weird if he knew and I didn’t–like we weren’t sharing the same experience or something. Something about this seems fractured.

He already has a son. But a daughter can also carry on the name too. Is Jack/John’s last name Brady? I don’t remember.

Also I think that it is great how they are doing it. He wanted to know and she didn’t. So they decided to do this.
