Meet West Flynn!

Courtesy Life & Style for use on CBB

Marley Shelton has taken on many personalities during her 19-year acting career.

She was the girl next door in Bubble Boy, a hard-nosed FBI agent on the CBS series Eleventh Hour and a possible killer in A Perfect Getaway. But it’s her quirky role in 2001’s Sugar & Spice that helped prepare Marley for the arrival of her daughter, West, on September 6th.

“I played a cheerleader who was pregnant with twins,” she told Life & Style in an interview at her Los Angeles home.

“I remember doing my research for it, so it’s funny now to be living out motherhood. Thank God I didn’t have twins!”

Instead, Marley and her husband, producer Beau Flynn, welcomed one sweet angel.

“West is just full of smiles,” Marley, 35, says. “I could watch her smile for ages. She’s amazing.”

As for the unusual name, well, it has an unusual story. “My husband actually dreamed seven years ago that we had a daughter, and he was calling her West,” Marley recalls. “I immediately said, ‘If we ever have a daughter, we’re definitely naming her that.’”

Even though they saw West coming, adjusting to their new addition has been an adventure after eight years as a party of two. One night when Beau suggested to his wife that they go out for a romantic dinner, Marley had to remind him that they have a baby to worry about. His reply, says Marley: “Oh my God, that’s right!”

The piles of toys scattered around their warm home should’ve been a giveaway. “Beau loves buying toys for West online — which can be a problem,” Marley admits. “We’re constantly getting packages in the mail, and I’m like, ‘What did you buy for her now?’”

Still, Marley’s happy to have such a doting partner. His expert baby-sitting skills, along with help from family and a nanny, let the new mom indulge in restorative Japanese massage therapy, mind-clearing hikes and the occasional mani-pedi. But the star of the upcoming film Women in Trouble feels happiest around her little girl.

“I love everything about West,” Marley raves. “She’s just scrumptious.”

Céline Dion Will Keep Trying for a Baby

KCSPresse/Splash News Online

Céline Dion isn’t pregnant after all – but will keep on trying for a second child.

“We are living the reality of the majority of couples who have to use [IVF]. The process can be long and arduous,” Céline’s husband René Angélil, 67, told the Canadian paper Journal de Montreal of their failed attempts. “But today, we are full of confidence. Celine is more determined than ever.”

Forty-one-year-old Céline’s doctor announced that she was pregnant via in vitro fertilization very early in the process, and it is now revealed that the embryos transferred in August and October were unsuccessful.

“Dr. Zev Rosenwaks believed that the procedure/pregnancy took, but that wasn’t the case. We found out some days later. We were shocked,” said René.

They quickly tried again to get pregnant, but were unsuccessful, he added, “But you know Céline. She doesn’t let go.”

The couple have one “extraordinary” son, René-Charles, 8 ½, who was also conceived with the help of Rosenwaks, director of the Ronald O. Perelman and Claudia Cohen Center for Reproductive Medicine at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Center Medical Center.

“I admire all the women who go through such a tough process. Since April, she has undergone numerous examinations, multiple hormone injections and blood tests,” René told the paper, revealing the couple will go to New York this weekend for a third try. “Céline and I didn’t get discouraged … we put our faith in life and in the stars.”

Rod Stewart 'Closing the Office' After Eighth Child

De La Cruz/MostWanted

Eight is enough for Rod Stewart.

The singer, who has seven children, and third wife Penny Lancaster Stewart, 38, are hoping to add one more.

“Yes, we’re trying – we actually tried last night!” Rod, 64, told the British talk show GMTV. “One more and then we’re going to close the office.”

But there’s still work to do with the ones he’s got already. Rod, now promoting his latest album of R&B classics called Soulbook, said he is having trouble teaching soccer to his youngest son, Alastair Wallace, who will be 4 later this month.

“He’s just a sweet kid at the moment,” he said. “I did take him out on the football field the other day. He put all his Celtic stuff on, I said, ‘Come on, let’s get running out there,’ and he went, ‘Oh, there’s some flowers for Mummy – must collect them.’”

“He spent about two hours collecting flowers in a basket for his mum!”
