Katherine Heigl, who will celebrate her 31st birthday on Tuesday, spends some quality time with daughter Naleigh (who turns 1 today!) during a day out Sunday in Los Angeles.

The pair were enjoying a party with the Grey’s Anatomy star’s sister Meg, her newborn baby, and their parents.

They are beautiful together! As for the pictures, there’s wouldn’t be a CBB without paparazzi pictures, so maybe we shouldn’t be complaining. Not to mention, there’s special lenses these people use to zoom in, so they could have been farther away than it seems.

My first thought was she looked like a little doll baby!! So chubby!

I think Naleigh does looks small but when my mom’s friend brought their baby home from China she was the size of a 4 month old and sh was just about to be one! Naleight should catch up just fine but also remember a lot of Korean people are not very tall so Naleigh most likely will always look shorter then most kids.

Lioness – I thought about that… But she’s from Korea, right? And Korean people are not generally very tall in comparison to say, scandinavians like myself (I’m 5’9). Katherine seems like a pretty tall woman so that could be it.

In my job, I’ve met hundreds of children Naleighs age and if the parents are on the short side, the children tend to be a bit smaller.

Lioness- I agree with JMO, and I also want to add that it’s been said that she has special needs, with some sites saying that the special need is a heart condition. It’s possible that the heart condition or whatever special need Naleigh has has stunted her growth a bit.

JMO, I think out of all the asian countries, Korea (namely koreans) are the tallest, especially in the southern areas! Their average heights pretty much mimics the USA.

I dont think her being asian has got to do with how small she is, I think she was just under nourished + her existing medical condition

My daughter is also very short for her age and it has nothing to do with ethnicity, medical conditions, etc. In fact, shes 1, and she wears 6-9 months clothes. sometimes, people are just short and small! I would say lets just take it as it is. Shes adorable and obviously fits in well with this family, and I think thats all that truly matters

People come in all shapes and sizes and that includes babies! I was the size of a six-month-old baby when I had my first birthday and I was not premature, malnourished nor sick. I am only 5 feet tall as an adult, am slender and am frequently thought to be about 10 years younger than my actual age of *cough, cough*! As a baby and young child, my mother got SO sick of doctors running tests on me and trying to make me “fit” into a box, category or percentile. They finally concluded that *gasp* I was small! Still am. Baby Naleigh is just beautiful!
