Celebs Love Citizens of Humanity Maternity Jeans!

Limelight; Bauer-Griffin

From Naomi Watts and Angelina Jolie to Jennifer Garner and Ellen Pompeo, Hollywood’s style conscious moms-to-be love to rock Citizens of Humanity maternity denim.

During her pregnancy, Sarah Michelle Gellar Prinze sported a pair of their casual jean shorts while running errands last July. Ever the fashionista, Gwen Stefani opted for a skinny dark rinse pair to offset her roomy top while pregnant with Zuma in 2008.

Citizens of Humanity

Known for their superior fit, Citizens brings the same attention to detail to its maternity collection as it does its regular styles.

Their over-the-belly jeans, skirts and shorts are super comfy and hug the body in all the right places. If you love designer and want the look even while pregnant, this is the denim brand for you.

We recommend buying the classic Kelly Bootcut style ($180) as your pregnancy denim staple.

They’re so well-crafted, you’ll only need one pair!  Plus, the cut and color are universal so you can dress them up or down.

I would never pay $180 dollars for jeans I would only get to wear a few months.

Ann Taylor Loft has great maternity jeans, and for a third of the cost!

$180?!?!?!? That’s insane! I went to a thrift store and paid like $5 for a pair that 3 years later I can still wear (just tighten the drawstring around waist) and are still completely comfy and look good. What exactly makes these designs so great that people think they’re worth spending insane amounts of money on?

Whenever I see articles with items that are way too pricey or are just too pointless an item, I always appreciate when other readers comment with items and stores that are just as good but much cheaper. :D

What? You mean you don’t own 7 pairs and wear while flying on your private jet? Oh wait…let’s get back to reality!

I personally love my Gap Maternity jeans! They were an investment and have lasted thru three pregnancies…yay!

Citizens are my favorite! They fit like no other and are well worth the investment, in my opinion. I wear mine all the time.
Though instead of buying their maternity jeans, I think I’d opt for the Bella band with mine for as long as I could! ;)

i had a pair of paige maternity denim with a half belly panel and it never stayed put. i had much better success with the Bella Band, and then by the end i only wanted to wear my yoga pants or dresses.

what makes them so good? the quality of the denim, the fit, etc. but if they don’t stay on or are uncomfortable, then you might as well spend your money elsewhere. i really didn’t like any of the gap maternity jeans. i felt matronly in them, same goes for regular jcrew denim. it’s just a fit issue, has nothing to do with price or brand image. my favorite pair of jeans are an old pair from goodwill, but i also love my current/elliotts :)

I will be buying a Bella Band until I can’t anymore. I’m not very far along.

Around where I’m at there are very few places where you can buy maternity clothes. The only place is about 2 hours away.

I had a pair of these while I was pregnant! They are the BEST JEANS ever! You can not put a price on great jeans. For those of you worrying about prices, maybe you should check ebay because you can get them on there for $45.00 – $180.00 (even with tags still on them and never worn)! I wore mine all the time!

Jeans with built-in belly bands seem like a good idea, but they are ITCHY. I found some at Target and some at a thrift store, and I had to retire them all because they would always end up getting so itchy that I’d have to fold it down anyway. Jeans are just not that comfortable during pregnancy.

"She likes to sing the songs that I like. Her favorite right now is ‘Kids’ by MGMT. The funny thing is, now I hate the song myself!"
