Richie and Ava Sambora Pose at Premiere

Gilbert Flores/Celebrity

With daughter Ava Elizabeth on his arm, rocker Richie Sambora attends the premiere of New Moon, held Monday evening at the Village Theater in Westwood, Calif.

Ava, 12, is the Bon Jovi guitarist’s child with ex-wife Heather Locklear.

New Moon, the second film in the Twilight series, is in theaters Friday.

Wow she is beautiful…

- Sabina on

Oh my ! A mini-Heather !!

- Caroline on

wow…she looks like her mum

- chloe on

stunning girl…shame she is dressed so grown up…

- chloe on

Ava is beautiful

- janie on

She’s gorgeous!

- Lissette on

I’m so glad you posted this picture. Richie is an amazing Dad to that little girl, if you saw the interviews on the red carpet she is smart, bright, witty, funny and totally in love with her father. He seeks any opportunity to teach her s much as he can in life, such as how she should be treated by men, and used the relationship between Bella and Edward as an example of how chivalry is very important in a man; these are the things he is educating her about and it looks like it’s sinking in, on the basis of that alone I think we could well have a standout star in our midst who will hold herself with respect and compassion and expect the people around her to behave accordingly. Makes a difference from the average entitled Hollywood child already

He’s a superstar Dad in every way and should be commended as such. Love them both

- Emelia on

Wow, she looks beautiful just like her mom! But she looks so grown-up – she’s only 12!

- Lisa on

Just to add, in my comment about him teaching her about men, what I meant was he is laying the groundwork for her to understand what it means to respect yourself and to make smart informed choices when it comes to relationships; though if you saw the interviews you will also realise that although he is saying these things he is sooooooooo not ready for his little girl to grow up at all hahaha! She’s not quite there yet either which is also REFRESHING, she got all coy and embarassed when a reporter mentioned there were a lot of topless men in this movie. She’s still a little girl completely, with a father who is being wise and pro-active in RAISING his daughter not leaving her to fend for herself. EVEN smarter on his part is that he’s not preachy he’s just trying to plant seeds in her brain so that when situations arise she might just remember some of her Dad’s words

Why can’t all parents be so smart?!

- Emelia on

Ava is a beautiful girl and the spitting image of her mom … but I find that outfit a little too grown-up for her age.

- Allie-Rose on

No, no, no- I find this outfit completely inappropriate for a 12 year old. What are they thinking?? Bad judgment!

- Jane on

She is lovely and does look like a mini Heather!

I don’t know if I would go on and on about what a great father he is considering he cheated on her mother with her mother’s good friend. IMO, that isn’t teaching good relationship values or how to be treated by a man.

- Lila on

Beautiful girl, but I would never let my 12 year old wear something like that.

- Erica on

She is sure beautiful, but the outfit is not appropriate even for a premiere.

- Tyannah on

Beautiful girl, looks just like mommy. But gosh, it’s creepy to see a 12 year old dressed and made up like this.

- martina on

She looks like a young Blake Lively.

- felicity on

Is her hair dyed? I think so because of the dark roots – this is inappropriate IMO…let alone her sexy outfit…

- Elli on

Lila, he did NOT cheat on her mother. Denise was never Heather’s best friend. Fact.

- Emelia on

I also DISAGREE that there is anything wrong with this dress. It’s CUTE, fun, colourful and is age appropriate. She looks beautiful and is well covered in all the right places. She is a just a tall girl for her age and very slender. The dress isn’t that much higher than her knee though if you look closely.

People are just too critical. Why not commend a healthy father-daughter relationship instead of criticising the way a 12 yeaar old is dressed when the dress is perfectly fine. I guess looking cute and fashionable is an arrestable offence under the age of 18

Geez

- Emelia on

Wow. Pretty girl but sooo not a dress my 12 year old would be stepping out the house in.

- Amanda on

I think the dress in fine for a film premiere. It’s not like she is showing up at school like this. She is with her Dad, she is safe. All I see is a beautiful young lady with her father, who looks so incredibly proud of his child. I wish every child could know that feeling.

- meghan on

She’s beautiful and looks great!

- Stella Bella on

I actually think she looks like a perfect combo of both parents. Sometimes I look at her and think she looks just like Heather, other times she looks just like Richie.

I’m also lol at the long, drawn out dissertation on Richie’s parenting style. No one knows Richie or how he parents. People who think they “know” celebrities are sad.

- Ashlyn on

She is so beautiful now. Just wait and see when she’s all grown up. Gorgeous.

- Hea on

She looks JUST like her Mom now, especially with her blond hair. She always had Heather’s eyes anyway. She’s going to be a knockout as an adult, just like her Mom!

I don’t think there is anything innappropriate about her dress nor do I think there is anything wrong with her dyeing her hair as long as it was her decision. It’s not like she is showing too much skin or the dress is too short. She is at a Hollywood event, after all. Dresing like this everyday would be different though…I do agree with that.

- Jennifer on

What would be the difference if she was wearing a skirt?? Same length….the off shoulder is in style…okay maybe she looks too grown up but I don’t think the dress is inappropriate. It’s a premiere not like she dresses like this every day.

- JMO on

I think Emelia has a crush on Richie!!

- KikiInOttawa on

I think her dress is fine for the event and place. If her parents let her lighten her hair, that’s fine too.

- Alice on

Okay, maybe I’ve lived in Florida too long, but I can’t understand how wearing that is inappropriate.

I see six-year-olds wear less during Christmas. Not only that, she’s with her father. She’s not on a street corner, she’s with a parent and at a MOVIE PREMIRE. Girls want to look pretty and she looks gorgeous. And I doubt she’d look twelve in a floor length dress or skirt, she just looks older for her age and that’s genetics. She isn’t wearing a lot of make-up and her hair isn’t dyed. When I was that age my blonde hair started getting darker at the roots like her.

I think picking apart her outfit, hair and make-up is horrible. She’s a little girl and she’s more than likely trying to find her style which is hard enough for girls without people telling her its not appropriate.

But I think she looks beautiful and Richie is such a good dad for taking her to see New Moon. I know my dad wouldn’t!

- Cassandra on

She’s 12 – and a girl goes through a lot of changes between 10 and 12. She really is a little lady, she’s gonna be a stunner when she grows up!

- Soph on

She is beautiful and I see what others are saying – she looks MUCH older than 12 Some it is is the fact that she is tall but the dress certainly doesn’t help. The dress covers her but it just gives the impression that she is 16 or 17 and I think that is what many posters have a problem with. I wouldn’t let my 12 year old wear it but then again, she isn’t your average 12 year old so if her parents allow her to wear it- nothing else needs to be said.

- gigi on

I just love to see pictures of Richie with Ava.
I think he loves her very much, and it shows that she thinks the world of him….
Hope to see more pictures of them here

- Tammie Treur-Reep on

She’s a pretty girl and I think her outfit it fine. I’ve seen childhood pictures of my mother and aunts in dresses from the 60′s and today a child would be sent home from school in dresses and skirts those lengths.

- dee on

As you can see by how her arm is, the dress is fingertip length which is the rule in most schools anyways. But like its been said, she’s at a movie premiere. Plain and simple. I don’t know why people have to take a photo and analyze it so much. She does look a lot like Heather in the picture. As for hair dying, she’s at the age when most girls are interested in that. My sister got highights and she wants to get more.

- Mandy on

The dress looks wodnerful and age appropriate to me. It’s young and fun! As a 12 year old she’s probably in high school – looks okay to me :)

- Topsi on

Ava is beautiful and looks like every 12 -14 yr old girl at the middle school my 14 yr attends. Her skirt isn’t too short…the girls wear similar lengths to church on Sundays…She is wearing no more makeup than any girl that age I know. My daughter is an 8th grader, but since she started middle school 2 years ago, she had gotten up and done her hair, makeup and put together “the” outfit for the day.
I started wearing makeup at 12 as well…that was back in 1978 (gasp, I’m old, LOL).

- shea on

KikiInOttawa….hahahaha, I agree!

- Amy on

BTW….I guess I’m a bad mom in the eyes of some of you, because my daughter has been changing her hair color and has had salon nails and worn makeup and stylish clothes for a couple of years now…she is now 14. Again I say, Ava looks no different than my daughter and her friends, and she has friends from 6th though 8th grade, so they are between 12 and 14 yrs old.

- shea on

Lol @ Cassandra! Ava is a beautiful girl. While this particular outfit may not be what I would choose for my 12 yr old I don’t see anything too wrong with it. All that matters is that she feels comfortable in what she is wearing and her parents don’t see a problem with it.

- I♥CBB on

I would never let a 12 year old wear that dress…but it doesn’t matter because I am not her parent. That being said, she is a beautiful little girl and her daddy looks so happy to be with her!

- Robin on

wow! not o\knowing how old his daughter was, I thought this was some 18 year old girl he was dating! she IS a mini heather though, wow!

- Gretchen on

Great Pic, She is Beautiful!

- Dawn on

It also isn’t really inappropriate, I’m just not used to seeing 12 year old in form fitting clothing, most of the gals in the small city of 11,000 i live in just north of seattle wear more of the baby doll shirts with the empire waist. she isn’t showing too much of anything, and is more covered than a regualar tank strapped dress, but it is just odd for us to see a young gal in figure fitting clothing

- Gretchen on

the girl is at a premier (a place to dress up) with her DADDY. She is not wearing a woman’s dress, she is wearing a little girl dress. What’s the difference between Ava dressing up for a premier and a little girl who is all macked out to win a beauty contest (wearing much less)? seriously people. Leave kids alone on this blog!

- mom to 3 boys on

Absolutely beautiful child, but that dress is not appropriate for her age.

- Lydia on

growing up way too fast. gross in my opinion to be on your dad’s arm dressed like that.

- lele on

The dress strikes me as too mature for a 12 year old, but she is a beautiful young lady. She definitely takes after her mother. She is all Heather.

- Terri on

I don’t think she dyes her hair, I think it is just the lighting at the event and I also think the dress is fine. She is dressing up for a premiere!

- Care on

I think what’s putting people off regarding the dress is that it’s form-fitting, sexy dress. It’s not the length at all. And also, the whole “package” is a little too sexy for my taste – makeup, red nails, died blond hair… I don’t know, I can see why someone would be ok with it – but personally, I am not comfortable looking at this picture.

- martina on

Wow, she looks really beautiful. I think she just wanted to be really beautiful on the red carped, that’s why she choose the dress. I bet she is a normal child at home :-)

- Sarah on

Ava is a beautiful girl. I think she looks like both of her parents. It will be fun to see if she gets into acting or music some day.

- Jane on

she’s the daughter of richie sambora and heather locklear.
whatever we may think of her style, the look kinda goes with the territory.

- fuzibuni on

There’s nothing wrong with her dress and I think its in good taste. I remember at that age, I already had boobs and curves. She’s a beautiful girl, if she feels confident in what she’s wearing, then I think that is what’s most important. Girls have enough to deal with as far as poor body image. And please, she’s with her father and their at a movie premiere, she is dressed up for the occasion!

- Mo on

Cute girl, but the dress is WAY too grown up for a 12 year old, Way too mature.

- kaylee on

There is nothing sinister in this picture. It’s just a kid out for the night with her dad. She’s not going drinking or partying or anything like that. Anyone would think we were living in Victorian times. Ava is beautiful, she looks like both her mum and dad, and Richie seems like a fantastic father. There’s really sweet footage of her backstage at a Bon Jovi gig on their When We Were Beautiful documentary when she was having her photo taken. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but it’s such a shame that sometimes, people are so stuck in the dark ages that they can’t see this photo for what it is, a lovely daddy-daughter evening out.

- Alex on

For the folks saying she dyes her hair…most likely she doesn’t. As a child my hair always looked like that and it was never colored. My roots were always darker and as my hair grew out it lightened up, giving the appearance of “dyed roots.” I eventually (in college) began dying it all darker to look more natural!

- Tia on

Note: The dress is from bebe, which is probably why it does look a little sexy. I’m 22 years old and was considering buying this same dress. It kind of throws me off that a girl a decade younger than me would be wearing the same thing.

- Frost on

Wow the girls nowadays are 12 and looking like they are 20!! Is it something in the drinking water or what? LOL. She sure does look like her mother! I have not seen a pic of her in quite a long time. She is just gorgeous! A Heather mini-me. Her dress is a little form fitting for a 12 year old, but she does look very presentable and that is the way the kids her age do dress like. My 2 daughter’s would not be dressing this way, and I know for a fact they would not want to dress like this. Anyway, it is really nice to see her dad taking her there, as the majority of dad’s would not even think of taking their daughters anywhere.

- Brianne on

Her hair is not dyed for one. You can tell by how the “roots” are blended into the supposed “dyed” part. It is purely naturally. Especially on blondes whose hair lightens the more it is exposed, roots will generally be a little darker.

Two, her nails are pink NOT red. I see babies with pink nails. I see 7 year olds with pink nails. It is not considered too “mature” when they do it.

Three, “OMG she is 12 and wearing some makeup!!!?!?!?!”. Get over it. For one it is very tastefully done and beautiful. Nothing even remotely over the top. Two, my mom let me wear make-up when I started 6th grade. This is coming from someone whose mother wouldn’t let me watch MTV until I got to high school, who wasn’t allowed to watch R rated movies until she was 14. I think I turned out rather well regardless of wearing makeup at such a young age. Success wise, I ended up being president of my sorority and as far as the “sexual” aspect, believe it or not I remained a virgin till I married. Just because she wears a little make up does not reflect her character nor her parents.

Four, get over the dress. The length is fine, the bust line is fine (more coverage then a strapless dress), and yea it is a little tight. There is nothing wrong with it. In my opinion it makes her look older just because SHE looks like she is 16 whether she is in that dress or in jeans and a t-shirt.

Ava is gorgeous and no matter what she was wearing she’d look 16 or 18 because she is stunning. In the mean time people need to stop finding something to criticize about EVERYONE. No matter whom the celebrity, the kid, the setting, etc. 95% of the articles on this site have multiple comment criticizing these parents.

Are you a perfect parent? I doubt it as no one is perfect. Get over yourselves and realize just because they are celebrities doesn’t make them perfect and criticizing them does NOT make you the better parent.

Now that I am off my soap box, I think Ava is gorgeous and you can see the love she has for her dad and the love he has for her.

- Claire on

I think Ava is beautiful and it is no one’s business whether she dyes her hair or if her dress is appropriate EXCEPT for her parents!

- Auntie May May on

I think her dress should have another sleeve…then it would be much more appropriate for a 12 year old. This dress looks like something I wouldn’t have been allowed to wear until about 16 (and I’m only 26 so it’s not like that was in the stone age or anything.)

- Kasee on

My goodness, mini-Heather! Ava has always looked like her mother, but now she is like her twin : )

- Patrice on

Uhhh I find it creepy that I am 24…and I have the same dress as a 12 year old. That dress is from Bebe…NOT a little girl’s clothing store.

- Jessica on

I don’t know where y’all have been hiding, but it seems like ALL CLOTHES for young girls are form fitting these days, from short denim skirts to see-through tight tees and skinny jeans. This is what is in the store for you to purchase and you DO and find that acceptable. There is NOTHING wrong with this dress, it’s a perfect length and everything is covered. OH MY an arm is showing!! Really?

The kid is tall, gorgeous and looks older than she is. This is normal in today’s society, and you get to pick her apart because she’s the child of a celebrity (which she didn’t choose). How is that fair?

She is beautiful young lady and she looks very well composed in this picture.

- KC on

I understand the sentiment that our opnions don’t matter with regard to her outfit, it’s up to her parents to worry on that front. However, the make-up, nail polish and hair dye are grand, my 12 year old sister plays about with that all the time, she is just about at the point where she is finding what suits her. The problem with this pic is that the dress is very short and tight, very much an older teen/womans dress. I don’t find it at all appropriate for a child.

- Daisy1 on

Lovely shot and the smiles are so beautiful. perfectly captured.

- Benigna Marko on

If the dress had another sleeve, I would see nothing wrong with it. But regardless of the occasion or the style, I think anything with only one shoulder is inappropriate on a 12 year old. I see nothing wrong with the length or the color or the bustline, but that one missimg sleeve throws the whole thing from “pretty” to “inappropriate”. Who buys their little girl’s clothing at an adults store in the first place? Ava is a beautiful girl, and it’s clear that she and her father adore each other. I always think it’s so sweet when I see pics of them together. This one though, just seems awkward to me.

- Shannon on

KC, there are plenty of stores that sell age-appropriate clothing for young ladies Ava’s age. I know. I have a daughter. It’s not all minis and see through tanks. I don’t know ANYONE who lets their daughter wear things like that. Maybe if they had gone shopping somewhere that was NOT an adults clothing store, they could have found something more appropriate.

- Shannon on

As a mom of a 10 year old girl, I am very particular about what my daughter wears because I know what’s out there for her age group and it’s slim pickings. Luckily, she has no desire to dress inappropriately, so it’s all good. Having said that, I saw zero wrong with the dress that Ava is wearing. I had to look back at the photo to see what all the commotion was about. It’s covering everything, it’s not too short, it’s form fitting but not overly so. What’s the problem?

I also don’t think her hair is dyed and her fingernail polish is fine, too. I’m not geting the outrage here.

- Julie on

She looks like a normal, happy 12 year old to me. Just a touch of make-up and a fancy, but modest dress and she’s with her Dad. How on earth is this inappropriate? Keep in mind she probably runs around in t-shirts, jeans and ponytails most of the time. It’s fun to get dressed up every now and then.

- michelle on

Ava is a beautiful girl but 12 sure looks a lot older than it did when I was a kid. She is a heartbreaker in the making though. Very pretty.

- Ronda on

Topsi
A 12 year old is not in high school, and 12 year old is either in elementary or middle school. Yes she’s in 6th grade.

- Ann on

Ava is a stunning child. She looks perfectly age appropriate for the event. She is the spitting image of Heather.

- Candy on

That outfit is extremely inappropriate for a 12 yr old girl. She is totally asking for trouble!!

- Doreen on

I think she looks wonderful for a “special event”. The dress may be a bit too sexy for her age, but she is getting to the age where she wants to feel like a grown up and as long as it’s not an everyday dress it is fine. She is already a stunning girl and her parents are going to have a hard time keeping the boys away!

- Lisa on

She is a gorgeous girl, but I have two daughters aged 15 and 11, and I still would not let either of them go out looking like that now, and especially not at 12. They grow up so fast, what happened to enjoying them being innocent and cute and little. We are trying to glam them up at such a young age, it is sad to me.

- Shan on

i dont know why, but when I look at her face it almost says that she doesn’t want to be there, almost as if she is better than everyone. IMO

- amanda on

12 yr old’s can’t wear “little girls” sizes for the most part. My daughter has been in Jr. sizes for 2½ years now…she is 14 and only 5 ft. tall and 94 pounds, but since she started developing, a size 12 or 14 in kids don’t fit her correctly (not to mention they all seem to have “hannah montanna” etc on the clothing and my child would be shot before she’d wear that, LOL)…she wears a size 0 to a 1 in Jr. We shop at Abercrombie, Aeropostle, Pac Sun, Rue 21, GAP, etc… SHe is way past the kids department at Walmart or Kid R Us, Children’s Gap, etc… She shops in the same stores that her sisters who are 24 and 28 shop at. They wear each other’s clothes too. This has been happening since 6th grade.

- sheabyshea on

Absolutely gorgeous this girl is, as everyone else has observed. Her hair does not look dyed at all- I think she’s a natural blonde. And even if it was, big deal? I think she’s old enough. Now as for the dress…. I don’t know. I mean, the dress is a nice dress, don’t get me wrong- my problem is it makes her look nothing like 12 and a lot more like 18. If she were a few years older, I wouldn’t have a problem with it. But she, with her developed body, looks much older than 12. Just doesn’t sit right with me. I think there is time to dress like this, and I don’t think now is it. It’s just a little too form-fitting for a developed pre-teen.

- Lioness on

totally inappropriate. even she looks uncomfortable in it.

- l.j. on

There is nothing wrong with this outfit… There is no cleavage, and it has a 3/4 sleave!!! wow some of the people on here are sooo critical. She isn’t asking for trouble, she’s at an event with her FATHER…

- Alycia on

I’m more frightened by the fact that her father is using the Edward/Bella relationship as a relationship to look up to.

- Jen K on

wow, i’m suprised by all the comments on her dress, makeup, etc. i think she looks lovely … sweet really … and i’m pretty conservative. i really see nothing wrong with her look. and i love that dad looks so happy to be there with his little girl.

- kacey on

She’s a beautiful little girl who obviously adores her dad. Judging from the amount of photos of them together, she spends a lot of time with him and he’s a great father to her.

There’s nothing wrong with her dress, especially for a special event. She looks a little older than 12, but so did I at that age. I’m 20 now, and it never caused any problems for me. She looks nice.

I hope the poor kid never reads what people say about her online. She’d have no confidence left.

- Natalie on

Her nails are purple.

- Amelia on

Someone mentioned earlier that the sleeve is 3/4 length, and I’m curious if they noticed that the other side is sleeveless. Her blonde hair obscures it. That cut of a dress on a 12 year old? I just don’t get it.

As for her supposed hair dyes and nails, I don’t really have a problem…

- Lydia on

Ann – I live in Canada (Quebec more specifically)and high school is grade 7 to 11. So yes, a 12 year old is in high school.

- Topsi on

i don’t see the big deal about the dress, most 12 year olds don’t still wanna wear stuff from gymboree at that age lol. if her parents don’t have a problem with it why should anyone else?

- jessie on

Oh my … What a beautiful little girl !!

- Lynette on

doreen – really? “She’s asking for trouble.” It just breaks my heart that you would even say that.

- Tia on

i’m sure Ava will be famous soon, just look at her – she’s georgeous

- kayla on

“She’s asking for trouble”. No she’s not. What a stupid thing to say. Nobody asks for trouble, certainly not a twelve year old. If trouble should arise, it’s solely the perpetrators fault. Are you one of those people who think a intoxicated rape victim has herself to blame?

- Hea on

I’m really torn here. On the one hand, there’s no one thing I can pinpoint as being inappropriate personally-the dress covers everything it should, the length isn’t too short, and she’s not wearing an outrageous amount of make-up. On the other, this is definitely a sexy/classy look aimed at young women 18 and older going out on the town-and best left there. The fact that this dress is made by Bebe says all I need to know about why it’s not appropriate for a child this young.

- Lauren on

What a lovely girl and I love the dress! Very pretty!

To you people that are putting her down, unless YOU birthed her, you’re paying her bills, and you’re taking care of her, YOU don’t have any right to critize her! Shut UP!

- niki on

She is at a premiere of the New Moon movie. It isn’t like she is at some dance or something like that. She is with her father too. I wish that some people on this site would consider these facts when replying to this. Some people are heartless :( It breaks my heart.

What is there a difference between this dress and a summer dress in the summer or a tank top and shorts? I don’t see a difference. Yes it might be a little grown up but she is at a premiere for a major movie. She isn’t in even a hometown theatre.

As for dyed hair and pink nails, what is the issue? My mom used to paint my nails every week different colors when I was in 3rd grade. Some people let their kids dye their hair. I never got to and never wanted to, but if I wanted to I’m sure I could have. Though I did get perms starting at age 8 I believe. I know that it isn’t really dyed but it was an issue up here.

Ava is a beautiful young lady!

- Jessi on

Topsi- But Ava lives here in the States, so she’s either in Elementary or Middle school. :)

- CelebBabyLover on

Oh, and not all 12 year olds are in 7th grade. For example, when I was 12 years old, I was in 6th grade, not 7th grade. :)

- CelebBabyLover on

Ava is in 7th grade in Middle school – i know that for sure

- kayla on

Beautiful girl…maybe what’s disturbing is that if not captioned, this could easily look like Richie and his date. It has nothing to do with length, sleeves, nail polish…just looks like a date, rather than a daughter. Do all of you dress the same to go out with your father as you would to go out on a date?

- brannon on

brannon, you mean if my father was taking me to the New Moon premiere? I’d dress better than for a date!

- Alice on

she doesn’t look like she’s 12. i’m 16 and she looks older than me.

- Kristina on

I think she looks pretty. I don’t think her hair is dyed, because her eyebrows are the same shade. She’s hardly wearing any makeup. Yeah, her nails are painted, but most 12 year-olds have painted nails. I know I did. And the dress is definitely a bit on the “adult” side, but 12 year-olds aren’t little kids, either. If this is what she likes to wear, she’s old enough to make that decision. She’s a very pretty girl, and I think she’s looks nice here.

- mrsh on

Such a gorgeous girl. I dont think she’s dressed too old for her age. I’d let my daughter dress like that. She’s only showing a little leg its not like she’s flashing her chest. I’m sure no one would be saying anything about her outfit if she were wearing short shorts.

- Hannah on

Doreen – do you live in a cave somewhere? She’s probably not looking for “trouble” – that would be probably something you did when you were younger…am I correct? I mean, it takes one to know one. I think Ava is beautiful and its sad that an older person like yourself would say something about a young person. Maybe your jealous.

- Mo on

mrsh- Very good point! I don’t understand why everyone is referring to Ava as a little girl. At 12, she is most definently NOT a little girl!

- CelebBabyLover on

Doreen – To say “she’s looking for trouble” is very inappropriate. That’s the same dangerous statement that is used to excuse rape. “Well, look at her, she was asking for it.” Shame on you.

- mrsh on

Sometimes even when an outfit covers all the important parts, it is still can look “grown”. The fitted nature of the dress is too mature for a pre-teen. If it’s a outfit that mom can wear on date night with daddy, it is too mature of a 12 year old. Doesn’t matter if she is with her dad at the event or not.
By the way, twelve years old is a little girl. If someone messed with Ava, we’d all be saying how could someone do that to a CHILD? Just because the context isn’t negative, how does that erase the fact that Ava is young?

- SweetDiva on

She is cute as a button. Looks just like her mom :)

I love seeing dads (celebrity and non-celebrities) take their kids out and about town. I just love that bond!!!!

SweetDiva- Yes, Ava’s young and she’s a child….but she’s not a little girl, either. A little girl would be someone like Suri Cruise, Shiloh and Zahara Jolie-Pitt (I don’t count Vivienne, because she’s still very much a BABY girl. :) ), Leni Klum, Rowan and Grier Henchy (Brooke Shields’ daughters), Jennie Garth’s youngest two daughters, etc.

Ava is no longer a little girl, but a pre-teen. To put it another way, would you call Will Smith’s son Jaden, whom I believe is only a year or two older than Ava (I think he’s at least 13), a little boy?

CBL: Jaden is only 11, one year younger than Ava. :)
