Expectant mama Camila Alves leads the way as she and son Levi, 16 months, stroll in Malibu, Calif. on Monday.

Although Camila is looking casual here, the model has been spotted out and about at events in the past week — on Friday, she hit all the right notes in a black one-shouldered gown and was pretty in purple last Tuesday!

She and Matthew McConaughey expect their second child in late December/early January.

Levi wears stride rite’s SRT Hendrix shoes in Navy ($49).

Dress #11, Just from the picture here, my opinion is that yes, the child is average height for his age. Cute hat on the little guy.

About her being in a winter coat and the kid being in shorts. . . . You know, it’s California, it’s not Buffalo. If anything, I think it is Camilla who is dressed too warmly for the weather.

I’m in Northern California and even here, you could wear a winter coat if you have a cold nature, but really you just need a jacket. They’re in Malibu, so there’s an ocean breeze but no real need for that heavy a coat unless you just like to be extra cozy!

I didn’t even take note to the clothes until others pointed it out. I think Camilla is over dressed…maybe being pregnant she gets cold a lot. But Levi looks comfortable and for being LA it’s not uncommon to still be in shorts right now.

But this picture I can totally see them with a little girl cause with the hat Levi looks a bit feminine! I can totally picture levi’s little face on a little girl now! So cute! Guess we’ll find out soon enough!

Levi is one of my FAVORITE celebrity babies. He is just such a doll! I’m curious what his reaction will be to having a sibling. I wonder how they’ve prepared him. Although he doesn’t seem spoiled, really, by the pictures.

As someone who lives in the area, Camila is overdressed. Maybe she gets cold easily but Monday, although it was cloudy and windy, it was also in the low 70s. Unlike what many assume, Levi’s perfectly fine.

I thought my granddaughter was a bit small for her age but she turned 2 in Oct and growing like a weed and so smart. Two I feel is the best little age because they are learning to talk clearly and want to do so much like a little adult.

I will admit I thought the same thing … me personally I wouldn’t be dressed so warmly so FAR along in my pregnancy (but then again I stayed hot that far along aways) while my child is dressed for the beach!

Ok, I don’t know much about Camila other than she seems like such a sweet lady and real good mother. About the coat, my American friend is here(Ireland) studying and she pointed out it could be a climate thing. Camila is Brazilian as far as I know, so maybe she feels the change in temperature more than Levi who is used to it as it’s all he’s known? I don’t know how long she has lived in the US and that could debunk the whole idea mind you. That is our theory anyway,as my friend is going around these days in big coats and scarves while I am used to our weather and haven’t even got my winter coat out yet.

Camila looks like she is still growing. I know she’s in her early to mid twenties but she looks taller (it could be the boots although they don’t look that high). Anyway, she looks ADORABLE and Levi is such a little cutie!! Can’t wait to find out what she’s having.

Camila grew up in Brazil, so she’s used to hotter weather.
I have a friend from Greece who comes over to Scotland in October and wears a big winter jacket whilst everyone else just puts on an extra layer.
Levi is adorble, cant wait to see their newest addition. I want to think their having a girl, I would love to see Matthew with a baby girl

I wasn't aware it was possible to tell the age of an adult by their height. Don't most people stop growing by their late teens, I know I've been the same height since I was 16…

It never fails to surprise me how people’s first assumption is that Camilla (or any parent, as this has been discussed many times here before) is dressing herself appropriately for the weather while letting her son shiver away in shorts. A lot of people get cold easily and would rather be too warm than chilled, myself included. Maybe Camilla does too?

Anyway, Levi is adorable! I can’t wait to see what this next little one is.

Jessica-That was my point. I know that women stop growing in their late teens but to me she looks taller. It’s not impossible to continue growing into your twenties it’s just rare. I was just wondering if she looked taller to anyone else. Just an observation.

I think Camila being from Brazil which is even further south really feels the cold even if it’s really not. Why do people comment on Levi being small. How tall do you expect a 16 month old baby to be? He seems to be completely average.

Are we gonna respond to Levi pictures and start arguing amongst ourselves about him being tiny for his age or about how he’s dressed inappropriately? I think we need to limit the criticisms to one theme per child. Plus it’ll help us all focus on exactly which judgment we want to pass on someone else.

Yep, it’s totally the Brasilian thing. My mother is from Brasil and I’m like her and 70 degrees is getting chilly for us. It was in the low 60s today and I had on my winter coat. My son on the other hand throws off the blankets that I bundle him in…he’s very much like his father that way, who thinks 70 is getting to be too hot!

Before you criticize, stop and consider 1) where the family is and 2) what their background is.

i live in greece(but i am from north europe). you would be surprise looking at people on the streets here. there are all kind of cloths and shoes in use! boots, athletics, sandals and flip flops. as well you can notice jackets, tshirts, sweaters and sometimes even fur(!).
i will never forget when i went to London in december a few years ago. there was high humidity. i was feeling so cold all the time that i was wearing two sweters and jacket and i was cold. one day i saw on the street a baby girl in the stroller who was no older than one year and she was not wearing socks!!!! i was shocked!!!!

I am wondering also the fact that Levi does seem very tiny. He doesn’t seem to have grown much. Considering his parent’s height I would expect him to be a bit taller. He just seems very tiny. He is soo cute! Does anyone know why he appears to be so small?

well Mrs.L he is 16 months old. how tall you want him to be???

Olia- I agree. I think a big part of the reason he looks so small to people is that we usually see him walking, whereas most other celeb babies his age are almost always carried.
