Hugh Jackman looks a bit surprised to see photographers while out and about with daughter Ava Eliot on Tuesday in Manhattan.
The actor, who’s currently starring in Broadway’s A Steady Rain, was taking his 4-year-old out for ice cream — Ava enjoyed a vanilla cone topped with mini-M&Ms!
Hugh and wife Deborra-Lee Furness are also parents to son Oscar Maximilian, 9 ½.

as adorable as she is, can i just point out that if this was a suri post people would be all over it saying that her hair looks untidy. personally i couldn’t care less, i think kids should be kids and be messy sometimes, but it is annoying me more and more that there are such double standards here and that some celebrities (hugh is one of them) can do no wrong in some people’s eyes. and others, the holmes-cruises are the best example can do no right. suri is either wearing too expensive clothes, untidy clothes, doesn’t have her hair brushed properly, is dressed to coldy, warmly etc. i just think there should be equality in comments.

JM: You would be suprised. Many and many bloggers are practically in love with Hugh, that´s right. But they keep writing nasty, and I mean really nasty comments about his wife. And comments from users are nasty, too. I also read to this photo somewhere that Ava has untidy hair or whatever. People care too much about how celebrities or their kids look like. The important thing is they are happy, which Hugh and Ava certainly are.

no wonder women lust after him. he has perfect husband and dad written all over him… just wish they would do Ava’s hair a bit more often. Always looks like a big mess…

As for his wife, I think she is great. She is strong and has an opinion. she isn’t one of the barbie doll people who has no substance. no wonder he loves her. She is amazing. Most people only look to the fact she isn’t a fashion model, but none of you look further. I would love to have dinner with her any day and discuss issues than sit with a barbie doll who has nothing more to talk about than her latest spray tan. Anyway – you are all jealous and that is why you say nasty things. They have been married for a long time, get over it. He loves her and there is plenty of substance to this woman.

JM, you bring up a good point. If this was Suri, people would be blasting Katie and Tom from left to right for not taking proper care of their daughter. I don’t see the uproar when it pertains to Suri and I definitely don’t see it here. I agree, though; it does seem like there’s an extremely obvious double standard.

I think Ava looks adorable! Her messy care looks cute,she looks like she’s been running around! Her clothes are adorable! I love the pic of her sitting on daddy’s shoulders with cute boots & jeans.

Ava is a really cute little girl and her hair looks fine. Hugh seems like a great dad who likes spending time with his kids.

I for one am a fan of both Hugh and Deb! Deb is a well trained actor who has had some awesome film roles in Australia. She is the real deal. Both of them are. No fake adopting for PR like Brad and Angelina. Hugh shows loyalty and committment and Deb is very lucky to have him. It was love at first sight for both according to mutual interviews over the years. Leave Mrs. Jackman alone. She is promoting adoption (legal and ethical) and raising her kids, being a producer, and living her life. Hugh has plenty if temptation but only has eyes for Deb. That should inspire many women because of his wonderful public example!
