Peter Facinelli on More Kids: 'Never Say Never'

Twilight star Peter Facinelli has made no secret of his belief that the “world is made for a family five.” Although he concedes in a new interview with Time Out New York Kids that he’ll “never say never,” he and wife Jennie Garth remain united in their content with their daughters Luca Bella, 12, Lola Ray, 6 ½, and Fiona Eve, 3.
The 35-year-old actor admits, however, that a subconscious desire to expand their brood might have been at play with one recent purchase. “We take our RV to our daughter’s soccer tournaments and we drove to Portland, Oregon this past summer,” Peter shares. “I just bought a new RV the other day.”
“We had a 33-foot and now we’ve moved up to a huge 40-foot Class A motor home. Who knows? Maybe I’m making room for one more child.”
With that said, Peter points out that maintaining the status quo would be undeniably easier. “When you get in a car, you can seat five comfortably,” he explains. “When you go out to dinner, you can seat five comfortably.” Although he grew up in a family of six, Peter says that times have changed. “Those were different days; Everyone climbed in the back of a Chrysler and your face was smashed up against the glass and nobody cared.”
There is also the element of time to consider – or lack thereof! When asked how he spends those rare days where he’s not working, Peter asks,
“What downtime? Any downtime I have is spent with my family, with my kids. In between one doing soccer and basketball, another doing horseback riding and the 3-year-old wanting to go to the park, I don’t have a lot of downtime.”

Even when he is filming, Peter remains a presence in the girls’ lives. “Last year I flew into L.A. on a Friday morning, picked up my kids from school, put up the Halloween decorations, had dinner with them and got back on a plane that night to go back to film,” he recalls, “But it was worth every minute that I got to spend with them.”
Dad and daughters also use Skype to communicate, and have even been known to share a meal despite the thousands of miles which separate them. “I’ll be eating ramen noodles and they’ll be having a wonderful home-cooked meal,” Peter says.
With this week’s highly anticipated release of New Moon – the second installment of the Twilight film franchise – even Peter’s daughters are getting in on the act, making their preferences of a love interest for lead character Bella Swan known.
“When I asked my 3-year-old what she liked about Twilight,” Peter shares, “she said Edward.”
New Moon opens Friday.
