Adriana Lima Welcomes Daughter Valentina

Adriana Lima now has a little angel of her own: Victoria Secret’s model and her husband, NBA star Marko Jaric welcomed a daughter on Sunday, November 15th in New York City.

“Adriana and Marko are thrilled to announce they had a baby girl, Valentina Lima Jaric,” a rep for the model tells PEOPLE exclusively. “Mother, father and baby are all doing well.”

Adriana, 28, met the Memphis Grizzlies star, 31, in 2006 and got engaged two years later on her 27th birthday. The couple eloped on Valentine’s Day this year, tying the knot in a small, private civil ceremony in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Soon after the honeymoon, Adriana learned she was expecting. “We are so excited!” she told PEOPLE at the time. “We wanted this. We were ready.”

“Even in my wildest days I knew that I wanted to be the ultimate family man,” Marko adds. “We’re ready to settle down.”

For the record…… if little Valentina was indeed a “honeymoon” baby, she was born exactly on time, as her due date for a “wedding night” baby would have been November 7th, and conception anytime during the week following the wedding would have been this past week as a due date!

For those of you who think she couldn’t have had the baby so soon if she wasn’t lying about a December due date…… 37 weeks is considered a full term delivery. If she was exactly 37 weeks on the day she delivered, her due date wouldn’t have been until December 6th. Do the math (the correct math at that please) before you open mouth and insert foot!!

Someone (MsGucci) said this was going to happen. That she would give birth at what people would think was 37 weeks and still be considered full term and nobody would be able to question it. How convenient to give birth 9 months and a day after she got married. She was obviously late which most first babies are.

It doesn’t really matter if the baby was conceived before or after wedding, wasn’t like it was a one-night stand between teenagers!

My baby was conceived on January 14th of last year (found out Feb. 2nd) and my due date (40 weeks) based on LMP was October 15th. Adriana’s situation very well could be what she says, her timetable is almost exactly like mine was. (Conceived on Feb. 14th, born on Nov. 15th. Complete full term.)

So it looks like Adriana DID accidentally spill the beans when she referred to the baby as “she” at some event a month or so ago (I forget what the event was). Either that or they DID keep it a delivery surprise like Adriana had said they wanted to, and she just had a gut feeling it was a girl!

Anyway, I want to point out that Adriana never actually said what month she was due. And I just went back in re-read the article where it was stated she was 17 weeks at the time, and actually, that was right on target for a November due date. It was late June when her husband said she was 17 weeks along. 17 weeks pregnant is roughly the same as 4 months, 1 week pregnant.

If you do the math, June is indeed four months after February. So if she DID indeed concieve on on her wedding night of Valentine’s day, 4 months 1 week would have been correct for how far along she was in late June.

In anycase, Adriana obviously was NOT pregnant in early January or late December as some people claimed, as Valentina would have been at least a month overdue if that were the case (and no doctor in their right mind is going to let a pregnant woman go that far past her due date!).

Also, for what it’s worth, I guessed she was due in November, not December, all along, as, if you do the math, November is exactly nine months after February!

All of that said, I love the name Valentina. I believe this is the second celebrity baby girl to be named Valentina, with the first being Salma Hayek’s little girl. I think it’s especially sweet considering that she most likely was concieved on Valentine’s day! I also love how they gave their daughter her mommy’s last name as her middle name. I hope they give us a glimpse of her soon. She’s sure to be stunning!

I was born November 9th, due November 19th, and there is NO WAY my parents could have conceived me anytime before February 18th because my mother was away for two months before that.

It’s a shame that this announcement had to come with so much speculation and calculation, but as I’ve said before, Adriana has only herself to blame, being that SHE was the one who would constantly, bring up the subject of her virginity in interviews. For the life of me I don’t know why she had to go and make that a public issue. Since when is your virginity a topic for anyone other than your husband? I don’t know what she was trying to accomplish, but all this speculation right now is as result of HER talking about something that was no one else’s business. Why make a big deal about what the rest of us do without fanfare most of the time? Should the rest of us have issued a press release? LOL! She’s certainly got the attention she wanted. With all the smug interviews she was giving, she HAD to know the media would be waiting to throw it in her face if her plan backfired.

Oh, and by the way…anyone can announce a birth and state any birth date they want. If the conspiracy theorists among us are correct, Adriana’s baby could be more than a month or two old already, and she just announced the birth at a time that would suit the very convenient supposed ‘sudden elopement Valentine’s day conception’ story, so as not to make it obvious she didn’t actually do what she had been trumpeting about for so long.

I am so thrilled that Adriana gave birth to a HEALTHY baby girl. Her name is beautiful, and she is one lucky child!

As for her due date, think about it 40 weeks is roughly 9 1/2-10 months. So you all need to do your math correctly. You are pregnant for longer than 9 months. Whether or not Adriana waited until after marriage is NOT ANYONE’S business but her own. Whether or not she waited, I could careless. She is a 28-year-old grown woman and can make her own decisions. The weight of the baby wasn’t released, but that could be for one of two reason A) She didn’t want to release it OR B) The baby was between 8-9 pounds and that could blow the December due date.

I believe Adriana was pregnant before her marriage and if you followed all of her interviews, events and candids like some, then you would see. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

But the baby is here, it’s something we may never know, so who cares let’s just be happy for Adriana!

She was overdue. Her cousin (the one who lied about her even being pregnant to begin with, then lied about it being a boy) told a fan site that posted the news on Sunday (she was probably giving birth at that very moment) that she was giving birth next week and that her mother was coming into town to help her. What happened to mid-December? All of a sudden things change. Now, this is what I don’t get. You don’t know when a baby is coming even having a due date which is estimated to begin with. Not to mention this is her first baby. Her mother would’ve had to have been with her for at least a month now. Everything about it is just weird if you’ve been following her in interviews and candids. Do I think the baby is a month or two old? No. For her to lie about something like that would just be ridiculous and would be really upsetting to her fans because like someone said birth certificates are public record. Come on now though. 9 months and a day to the day they eloped on Valentine’s Day? It’s too perfect. I think she was just about 40 weeks. I do think she was a virgin until she met Marko. Things happen. But she knew she was going to marry him eventually. They were in the process of planning two huge weddings for June in both Brazil and Serbia and then all of a sudden they elope on Valentine’s Day?

After reading all these comments, some of you really make me laugh!

A quick lesson in pregnancy/conception timelines. A pregnancy is 40 weeks, the first 2 weeks of a pregnancy are actually the 2 weeks before you conceived the baby (they count from the first day of your last period). If Adriana conceived on her wedding night…. her due date would have been November 7th based on a doctor’s calculations. Which means her daughter was a week + 1 day overdue, which is very very normal for a first baby.

Those of you trying to say “well November is 9 months after February” obviously don’t grasp the concept that your due date is not automatically 9 months to the day after you conceived. My son was a honeymoon baby, conceived the week after our March 3rd wedding and his due date was November 30th….NOT December 3rd. The conception date was pinpointed to be between the 6-10 of March. A baby conceived on the 3rd of March, would have actually had a due date of November 25th which would have appeared to those of you who were uneducated about pregnancy and conception, that I was pregnant before my wedding. (and I am NOT for the record claiming to have been a virgin on my wedding night either considering my husband and I went through a miscarriage the summer before we got married).

The math is strange, but it sounds as though her baby was definitely a honeymoon or shortly after the honeymoon baby. Either way, baby was born in the normal 37-40 week time range for a full term pregnancy.

Sorry, but I just hate when people can’t get facts straight…. I personally could care less about her virginity, or when she conceived, I’m just annoyed at the “know it alls” for thinking they are stating fact when they in fact, are WRONG!

If you’re following Christianity as its in the bible, then no you can’t sell womens underwear by being sexualized and still consider yourself pious. Savanna- If her cousin lied about her being pregnant and about the gender, who’s to say he wasn’t lying about her knowing when she was giving birth? And for the record, some women are induced before they go overdue, for various medical reasons (including pre-eclampsia).

In anycase, I hope that little Valentina isn’t going to be plagued by the “she’s older than they say she is!” rumors like Suri Cruise was for the first year or so of her life. Hopefully Valentine doesn’t have a lot of hair or other features that make her look older than she is (that was part of the reason for the speculation with Suri. She DID look older than her age in her first photos since she had all that hair plus she was one of those babies who had a more “adult” face from the get-go).
